  • I’m a multi monitor person. The physical division helps me stay organized better than one large monitor. That said, they bought us new curved monitors at work so I now have a 32” curved in the center and 2 22” widescreens situated vertically on each side. We call it the Tie Fighter.

  • I have the same desk. Uplift is the best desk I have ever owned. The motor is great. They have a TON of accessories you can add to it like an under desk CPU tower holder, drawers, monitor arms, desk mats etc. I have 2 monitors but I recently went back to just one 32" 4k 32GQ950-B and calibrated it. Looks amazing. I have 2 PCs into one monitor. The Mac Studio and a Gaming PC. Went Audio engine speakers because I have them hooked to the PC physically and to the Mac via bluetooth and can play both sources simultaneously.

  • I used to use 2 external monitors. I switched to a 32" and will eventually go for an ultrawide. I like the one monitor because it keeps it clean, and anything over 32" allows you to treat one monitor as if it were 2.

  • I don’t like turning my head left and right all day, so I have one studio display that I look at right in the center. My MacBook pro is to the left, but I only use that screen for zoom calls and minor things. I also have my iPad Air hooked up via USB/sidecar and it sits beneath the studio display for a little extra screen space. I also have an uplift desk with the walnut finish. I have had it for a few years and still love it.

  • Btw, to make the Magic Mouse a class above most input devices, get a cheap *glass mousepad* . It makes it a smooth frictionless glide, and it makes it way more accurate as well.

  • I've been using dual 27 inch 4k displays for years and love it. It provides two clearly defined work spaces. One for Final Cut and one for everything else.

  • Ok, your storage solution is amazing. While I need no where near that amount of storage space, I'm curious about one thing. How do you get your Mac to use the external storage for your Adobe projects by default? Every single time I start a new project, Adobe creates it within the "Documents" folder on my internal storage and sync'd with iCloud. It's a big big mess!

  • I have two VESA mount studio displays suspended about 11” above my 60” x 30” sit-stand desk by a heavy-duty dual arm mount from Vivo that’s clamped to the back of the desk. These are powered by an M2 Max Mac Studio. The studio displays are angled so I look at both face-on, and their edges touch above the middle of the desk. I love the dual displays.

  • I’ve been on team uplift desk too for about a year or so. It’s a solid desk. I’m using the L currently with a Maple top. 80x78. I use a single 49 inch super ultra wide and then on the return a single Studio Display. For my daily job I can get away with a super ultra wide but not a traditional single 27 inch display. I have a lot of references open and other things when I’m working and tabbing through or space switching would drive me insane.

  • I always go with just one monitor. In fact in the entire organization I am the only one with one monitor and I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts to go between the open windows that I don’t need an extra monitor to take extra space I don’t have.

  • When I went dual monitors many years ago I noticed that my productivity increased but that I felt more neck strain and hated the fact that I didn't ever look dead center. The answer for me was to get another monitor and now I have 3 27 inch 4k monitors mounted on monitor arms. So a lot of the time if I'm not doing a lot of multi tasking, I just use the monitor in the middle but if I am doing heavy software development for example, I can have every app I need open on different monitors. That said, on the other side of my office, I have one single ultra wide monitor for my personal use and it is really nice. However there are certain dev projects I work on where my productivity would fall harshly with the loss of screen real estate.

  • Tried to work once with multi monitors but didn't work out with me.🙃 Still prefer one big 32 inch is enough.😇 If needed, just add it up quickly with iPad Pro 12,9 or MacBook Pro M3 Pro (instead of your Mac Studio).😄

  • 2:45 I'm definitely a multi monitor person but with the Studio Display you end up dropping something like $3200 MSRP for a couple 27" monitors as you pay for redundant things in two monitors like speakers, webcam, A13 chip, 64GB storage all at insanely inflated prices. MacOS is also really buggy with multi monitors especially when you go third party(go check out all the threads at Macrumors with the Mac Studio not being able to identify identical 3rd party monitors correctly or active window losing focus on external display).

    @Richmondthefish@Richmondthefish13 күн бұрын
    • this is why i went to windows for desktops and only macs for laptop use macos is clearly aimed at being used with a trackpad on a single screen in a visually casual friendly manner; thats where all of the money is at since apple primarily makes money in laptops for personal computers hence apple's QC for desktop use is a joke especially when you start to venture anything outside of their ecosystem
