  • When I was little, before I left my homeland to immigrate to the other side of the world, my teary-eyed relatives gave me the 48 colored pencil set as a goodbye gift. I took that set everywhere as I learned to acclimate. On my first visit back many years later, I bought myself a new set and passed that down to my baby sister. And to this day, I still have my original set from more than 2 decades ago. Faber-Castell will always have a special meaning in my life (I’m cheesy, yes, but this video brings back nostalgia).

  • I grew up next to this fabrication and sometimes the whole neighbourhood smelled like pencils. 🙂 Depends on the wind. Back then in the 80s everyone living around Faber Castell worked there and I always had lots of scarce goods pencils given to me by neighbours that they could not sell because the print was overlayed or something. Then, like everywhere, staff was heavily reduced and my pencil well dryed up.

  • Call me “nerdy”, but I love pencils! I would love to work at this pencil production plant! I was an estimator for a large commercial printing company for almost 30 years; people never saw me without a pencil behind my ear all those years, and it better have been a relatively new one with a sharp point! As a child, pencils were my favorite Christmas gifts, and “Santa” made sure I received regular and colored pencils every Christmas! I started giving my son pencils for gifts early on; he still has some of the “art sets “ he received as gifts! There’s something soothing about pencils; went through college and earned 2 engineering degrees using pencils! The only time I don’t use pencils is when I have to sign legal documents and then I have to use a genuine fountain pen (story for another time!). Thanks for the video! Really enjoyed it!

  • Welcome to another episode of “why is this in my recommended?”

    @mcbaws21@mcbaws214 жыл бұрын
    • I'm actually glad it was recommended. Without it, I wouldn't have known about how something as simple as a pencil was made and all the time, effort, and resources that goes into making it. The video production quality is just as impressive as the entire process itself. Mad respect to all those who work in manufacturing.
