He died for us to save from sins and he rosed again, that we christian observed good friday every years. The same doubt or question, i often asked, why a good friday rather why not bad friday. But the actual answer is that, jesus was crucified on friday and after 3 days he ressurected that is sunday. Since Jesus christ died for us it is considered as Good friday.
