आयशा से रिवायत है: जब मैं छह साल की लड़की थी तो पैगंबर ने मुझसे सगाई कर ली। हम मदीना गए और बानी-अल-हरिथ बिन खजराज के घर पर रुके। फिर मैं बीमार हो गया और मेरे बाल झड़ने लगे. बाद में मेरे बाल (फिर से) बढ़ गए और जब मैं अपनी कुछ सहेलियों के साथ झूले में खेल रहा था तो मेरी मां उम रुमान मेरे पास आईं । उसने मुझे बुलाया, और मैं उसके पास गया, न जाने वह मेरे साथ क्या करना चाहती थी। उसने मेरा हाथ पकड़ा और घर के दरवाजे पर खड़ा कर दिया. तब मेरी सांसें फूल रही थीं और जब मेरी सांसें ठीक हो गईं तो उन्होंने थोड़ा पानी लिया और उससे मेरे चेहरे और सिर पर मल दिया। फिर वो मुझे घर के अंदर ले गयी. वहाँ घर में मैंने कुछ अंसारी महिलाओं को देखा जिन्होंने कहा, "शुभकामनाएँ और अल्लाह का आशीर्वाद और शुभकामनाएँ।" फिर उसने मुझे उन्हें सौंप दिया और उन्होंने मुझे (शादी के लिए) तैयार किया। अचानक दोपहर के समय अल्लाह के रसूल मेरे पास आये और मेरी माँ ने मुझे उनके हवाले कर दिया, और उस समय मैं नौ साल की लड़की थी । ( साहिह अल-बुखारी , खंड 5, पुस्तक 58, संख्या 234) हिशाम के पिता ने बताया: खदीजा की मृत्यु पैगंबर के मदीना जाने से तीन साल पहले हुई थी। वह लगभग दो साल तक वहां रहा और फिर उसने आयशा से शादी की जब वह छह साल की लड़की थी, और जब वह नौ साल की थी तब उसने उससे शादी कर ली। ( साहिह अल-बुखारी , खंड 5, पुस्तक 58, संख्या 236) आयशा से रिवायत है कि पैगंबर ने उससे तब शादी की जब वह छह साल की थी और जब वह नौ साल की थी तब उन्होंने उससे शादी कर ली और फिर वह नौ साल तक (यानी उनकी मृत्यु तक) उनके साथ रही। ( साहिह अल-बुखारी , खंड 7, पुस्तक 62, संख्या 64; संख्या 65 और 88 भी देखें) सही मुस्लिम आयशा (अल्लाह उस पर प्रसन्न हो) से रिवायत है: अल्लाह के रसूल (सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम) ने मुझसे तब शादी की जब मैं छह साल की थी, और मुझे नौ साल की उम्र में उनके घर में दाखिल किया गया । उसने आगे कहा: हम मदीना गए और मुझे एक महीने के लिए बुखार का दौरा पड़ा, और मेरे बाल कानों तक आ गए थे। उम्म रुमान (मेरी मां) मेरे पास आईं और मैं उस समय अपने साथियों के साथ झूले पर था । उसने मुझे जोर से बुलाया और मैं उसके पास गया और मुझे नहीं पता था कि वह मुझसे क्या चाहती है। वह मेरा हाथ पकड़ कर मुझे दरवाज़े के पास ले गयी और मैं तब तक हा, हा (मानो मैं हांफ रहा था) कह रहा था, जब तक कि मेरे दिल की बेचैनी ख़त्म नहीं हो गयी। वह मुझे एक घर में ले गई, जहाँ अंसार की औरतें इकट्ठी थीं। उन सभी ने मुझे आशीर्वाद दिया और शुभकामनाएँ दीं और कहा: तुम्हें भलाई में हिस्सा मिले। उन्होंने (मेरी माँ ने) मुझे उन्हें सौंपा। उन्होंने मेरा सिर धोया और मुझे अलंकृत किया और मुझे किसी बात का भय नहीं हुआ। सुबह अल्लाह के रसूल (सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम) वहाँ आये और मुझे उनके हवाले कर दिया गया। ( सहीह मुस्लिम , पुस्तक 008, संख्या 3309; 3310 भी देखें) 'आयशा (अल्लाह उस पर प्रसन्न हो) ने बताया कि अल्लाह के रसूल (उस पर शांति हो) ने उससे शादी की जब वह सात साल की थी, और जब वह नौ साल की थी तो उसे दुल्हन के रूप में अपने घर ले जाया गया, और उसकी गुड़ियाँ उसके साथ ; और जब वह (पवित्र पैगम्बर) मरे तो वह अठारह वर्ष की थी । ( सहीह मुस्लिम , पुस्तक 008, संख्या 3311) सुनन अबू दाऊद आयशा ने कहा: अल्लाह के रसूल (सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम) ने मुझसे तब शादी की जब मैं सात साल की थी। वर्णनकर्ता सुलेमान ने कहा: या छह साल। जब मैं नौ साल की थी तब उन्होंने मेरे साथ संभोग किया था । ( सुनन अबू दाऊद , संख्या 2116) आयशा, उम्मुल मोमिनीन ने रिवायत किया: अल्लाह के रसूल (सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम) ने मुझसे तब शादी की जब मैं सात या छह साल की थी। जब हम मदीना आए तो कुछ महिलाएं आईं. बिशर के संस्करण के अनुसार: जब मैं झूला झूल रहा था तो उम्म रुमान मेरे पास आया। वे मुझे ले गये, तैयार किया और सजाया। फिर मुझे अल्लाह के रसूल (सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम) के पास लाया गया और जब मैं नौ साल की थी तो उन्होंने मेरे साथ रहना शुरू कर दिया । उसने मुझे दरवाज़े पर रोका और मैं ज़ोर से हँसने लगा। ( सुनन अबू दाऊद , पुस्तक 41, संख्या 4915) आयशा, उम्मुल मोमिनिन ने रिवायत किया: पैगंबर (उन पर शांति हो) जब वह उपवास करते थे तो उन्हें चूमते थे और उनकी जीभ चूसते थे । ( सुनन अबू दाऊद , पुस्तक 13, संख्या 2380)
