Everybody Wants To Rule The World Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Welcome to your life
There's no turning back
Even while we sleep
We will find you
[Chorus]
Acting on your best behaviour
Turn your back on Mother Nature
Everybody wants to rule the world
[Verse 2]
It's my own design
It's my own remorse
Help me to decide
Help me make the
[Chorus]
Most of freedom and of pleasure
Nothing ever lasts forever
Everybody wants to rule the world
[Bridge]
There's a room where the light won't find you
Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down
When they do, I'll be right behind you
[Chorus]
So glad we've almost made it
So sad they had to fade it
Everybody wants to rule the world
[Instrumental Interlude]
[Chorus]
I can't stand this indecision
Married with a lack of vision
Everybody wants to rule the-
Say that you'll never, never, never, never need it
One headline, why believe it?
Everybody wants to rule the world
All for freedom and for pleasure
Nothing ever lasts forever
Everybody wants to rule the world

Nothing's stopping you today! Let your hair down, put this song on, put your shades on, and drive around for a bit.
I remember riding in the backseat with my granny, my head was in her lap and I was looking out the window. Sun was going down and the sky was a beautiful shade of pink. It was 2000 and my uncle had just bought a new 1992 Crown Victoria. Everytime I hear this song, I'm transported back to watching the city skyline whizz by and the smell of my granny's white diamonds perfume. I love the 80s so much. 90s born, 00s raised.

Forgive me...I just didn't realize how good this time was.
80's had some horrible synth music, and 90's autotune and cover versions. But there were still many real creative musicians. I am probably getting too old and stagnant, but its hard to find much good music these days. For me some new indie bands making fresh music, but I do not care much for singers, who do not even write their own stuff.
@@la7dfa Yeah, totally agree that people should at least write their own song.

80's was a phenomenon in musical history.
The world was a better place...
You mean the Late 20th Century (1960-1999), which tbh isn't just pop and synth. There's so much music from that time, though British pure hard rock (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Hawkwind, Motorhead, Fastway, and Judas Priest) is my favorite.

The fact that they were only 23 years old when they made this masterpiece is crazy!
It took 23 years between Hitler's first big evil speech (1922) and his suicide (1945). Putin came to power 23 years ago (PM from 1999) Nothing is by chance, Nisha...
Goshhh I was watching the video and I was thinking I CAN SEE THEIR YOUTHHHHH and I'm older then they were in the video o.O
Not really. Most artists creative primes are their early 20's. The Beatles, Madonna, MJ, Taylor Swift all had major hits in their early 20s or even earlier. Not crazy, but normal.
@TheBoi353 Good for you! A year ago, I would have said that I would love to go back again. But the Holy Spirit has let me see that each new day is blessed and full of promise. And we PROGRESS through life. Today is Ash Wednesday and we are asked to pray and fast for Ukraine, but as Jesus wanted, part of that is to pray for the Spirit to come to Putin too. We are specifically told to love and pray for our enemies. So let's for once do what our Saviour taught us. Today is the day. Carpe diem and may God be with us!
@@sidpheasant7585 MAY , means maybe! The god is always “with” us…is in us as us!
To the person that reads this, I ask the Lord to bless them and their family, to cure them of every sickness and pain, to fill their emptiness with love joy and peace, to rebuke the enemy from their lives. my boyfriend and i are 19 and 20, we live an hour drive from each other. this drive’s silence is almost always filled with some sort of music. despite our very different music tastes, when this song came on when we were driving back to mine one night, it felt like the world became us and that song. this song stood out like no other song, the feeling unmatchable. i fell in love with my boyfriend all over again; his beautiful eyes that reflected the lights around us, his hands joyfully tapping on the steering wheel, his soothing voice, i am so in love with him. nothing else mattered in that moment, our futures filled with endless possibilities, that fear of the unknown was still there, yet i felt comfortable and content in this very moment in time. i felt that all is going to be will be, life is a journey.
That's a beautifull story I hope you and your boyfriend are now married and have a Happy life

Let me sum up the 80’s music this way, I’m a black guy who grew up in that era and I can’t cap, there was some great 80s rock and soft pop songs that I used to rock all the time. Tears for Fears was one of my favorite as well as Journey. I can remember cruising down Crenshaw Blvd in my 240z blasting their songs on the radio. That’s how much I loved 80’s music. Howard Jones, Madonna, Expose, etc…I could go on and on. But i can’t help waxing nostalgic when listening to these classics. I mean just the best cruising music ever. That’s what made driving so fun back then. It didn’t matter where you were going. Just pop in your favorite cassette and enjoy the ride. I’m glad I got to experience it firsthand.
Awww driving down Crenshaw Blvd and the music... the memories!! Your comment brought me back to those days.
I can't relate to the California part of your life, because I've never been there, but as a black man born in 1980 I grew up with this. I was exposed to this sound thanks to my mother's tastes in music, so this feel good music was felt in North Carolina. This group, and many others from the 60s, 70s, 80s and early 90s get plenty of rotation in the car to this day.

Brings back so many memories of me dacing in my local pub thinking I was the bees knees , oh god I do miss those carefree days 😊😔
@@carolsteed7604 I wish I knew the 80’s!
This is still the best song and still the best video especially the two gentlemen dancing out in front of the two gas pumps they're doing the dance the skate who remembers ? 🤩😛😋👍👍👍👍
Definitely
Absolutely!
1980s-1990s was the peak for music. ever since the 2000s rolled in, it went downhill. i wish we could wind back to music like this
LYRICS: Welcome to your life There's no turning back Even while we sleep We will find you Acting on your best behaviour Turn your back on mother nature Everybody wants to rule the world It's my own design It's my own remorse Help me to decide Help me make the most Of freedom and of pleasure Nothing ever lasts forever Everybody wants to rule the world There's a room where the light won't find you Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down When they do I'll be right behind you So glad we've almost made it So sad they had to fade it Everybody wants to rule the world I can't stand this indecision Married with a lack of vision Everybody wants to rule the world Say that you'll never never never never need it One headline why believe it? Everybody wants to rule the world All for freedom and for pleasure Nothing ever lasts forever Everybody wants to rule the world
….Thanks!

This is probably the best song of all time.
Not probably it is
Mmm well it is pretty dam good I give you that
Brandy you’re a fine girl exists too
One of em
I came to the same conclusion after many years. Always feels fresh and uplifting.
If ever a song defined "The Big '80's", this is it.
100%
No I’d say Journey Don’t Stop believing or Toto Africa. And 70’s would be Boston More than a Feeling and Kansas Carry on Wayward Son. I grew up with literally 60’s blues all the way to 90’s hip hop. I should’ve been born in the 80’s, everyone (even my parents) say I’m stuck In the 80’s.
@@WhoDaF0ok1sThatGuy no. This is more 80s than that. Journey is overrated as hell as well. Tears for fears and Simple minds sound the most 80s.
@@natechenry bro Tears for Fears literally looks like an emo band. Journey also isn’t overrated, they have amazing songs such as Lights, Separate Ways, and of course Don’t Stop Believing. And nothing is more 80’s than Africa. Tears for Fears just has one song that I’ve known about. And I grew up with all the music being from 60’s blues, to 70-80’s Rock, and to 90’s Hip hop. Nothing 2000’s. Dude this isn’t as 80’s as Journey and Toto, or even Kansas and Boston (which is more so 70’s). My parents were also born in the 70’s and grew up from the late 70’s to the 80-90’s. They also agree and brought me up on Boston, Journey, Kansas, etc. and my pops grew me up on 1990’s Nas, Mobb deep, Common, AZ, DMX, Twista, Public Enemy, etc. So I’m all old school
@@WhoDaF0ok1sThatGuy I was born in 1958. In the 80s, Journey seemed like a carryover from the 70s; to my ear they were very much like Kansas and Boston, et al. Tears for Fears had a new sound that was somewhat new-wave but more sophisticated musically. That's how I remember it.
i thank my 5 year old son for finding this gem 💎 one of my favorites ❤
its so nice to see some real talent, modern music is honestly crashing, too energetic, the lyrics are mostly non existent, im young, but i reasure that im as young as old.. old as young.. Maybe i have not seen these talented people with my own eyes, its truely heart touching.
“So glad we almost made it” Happy New Years 2020
Many Happy Returns Brother!
2020 already here, happy new year :D
Nothing lasts forever!!
Welcome to your life, there's no turning back 인생이 시작된 걸 환영해, 되돌아갈 수는 없어 Even while we sleep we will find you 자는 동안에도 우린 널 찾을 거야 Acting on your best behaviour turn your back on mother nature 최선의 행위가 대자연(생리적 욕구)에 등을 돌린다 Everybody wants to rule the world 모두 세상을 지배하길 원해 It's my own design, it's my own remorse 내가 고안한 거야, 나만의 뉘우침이지 Help me to decide, help me make the most of freedom and of pleasure 자유와 쾌락을 잘 활용하도록, 결정하도록 날 도와줘 Nothing ever lasts forever 영원히 지속되는 건 없지만 Everybody wants to rule the world 모두 세상을 지배하길 원해 There's a room where the light won't find you 빛이 널 찾지 못하는 방이 있어 Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down 벽이 무너지면 손을 잡아 When they do I'll be right behind you 그러면 내가 바로 네 뒤에 있을 게 So glad we've almost made it, so sad they had to fade it 성공해서 아주 기쁘고 사라져야만 해서 아주 슬프다 Everybody wants to rule the world 모두 세상을 지배하길 원해 I can't stand this indecision, married with a lack of vision 비전의 결여와 결혼한 이 우유부단함을 참을 수 없어 Everybody wants to rule the world 모두 세상을 지배하길 원해 Say that you'll never, never, never need it 절대로 필요 없을 거라고 말해 One headline - why believe it? 헤드라이트 한쪽 - 왜 믿어? So true.
lyric bug yeeesss
lyric bug music is magic😌
Yeah man😎
So true....
It's wierd how this song brings up feelings of nostalgia yet I grew up in the late 90s and early 2000s
Same for me,feels like a taste of the 80s
I think it's because we heard such kind of music in old movies which were on TV when we were little.
I agree! For those us of us born in the early 90s, we remember our moms and aunts with big hairs, being dressed in cyan and bright purple clothes, listening to 80s music, and watching 80s movies. Goonies! We were not born in the 80s, but we definitely were born in a the time when all of that culture was still fairly new.
It’s called anemoia meaning nostalgia for a time or place one has never known
born in 2005 and love this song grew up listening to it reminds me of my childhood in Cyprus
This literally has four hundred million views that shows how good it is
My favorite song forever ❤️ 💛 ❤
When I'm depressed I listen to this song it always cheers me up
I heard this song growing up in NC, funny how I landed in Palm Springs, Cabazon and the Salton sea where this was filmed
😔👍
@@danielmybrother6049 I live in the city next to it and every time I pass by the dinosaurs I always have to play this song
Same
Honestly, this song makes me hurt inside. That feeling of wanting to relive my childhood and wanting to go back, but not being able to. Probably because I lost my brother a while back, so this make me think of him. I miss this era with every fiber of my being sometimes 🥺
