I hate to say this, but Google’s speech to text translation app beats Apple’s version hands down.
Fernando, great video. I just came back from a trip to London a couple of weeks ago. I used all the built in Apple apps exclusively. Boarding Passes on the wallet app to board my flight, once there, Apple Pay on the watch was accepted everywhere making this the first trip ever where I didn't use cash. Loved it. I used Apple Maps for transit directions in the London Underground as well as walking directions. The maps app also took into account Underground lines that were not in service the weekend that I was there. The walking routes it gave me took me through some places I did not even plan on which was awesome. I used notes for my day to day itinerary. As I did each activity, I just clicked on it within notes to place a checkmark. I also used notes for currency conversion to the British Pound. Took all my pictures, time lapses and then color corrected them on the iPhone 14 Pro Max. I can't wait to see what iOS 18 brings to this. Never once did I touch Google Apps.
thats amazing! we loved london. one of my favorite cities ever. and we used so many ios features while we there. Im glad i am not the only one!
Great Video! Had no idea about shared audio 🤯
very helpful
Great info.. thanks for sharing. Hope you had a Martini at Duke’s Bar.
🐬Fernando, this was such a great video! Thank you! The practical travel use cases for the iPhone are spot-on and super-useful! I already use a bunch of them, but your video really underscores how critical the iPhone is as a travel tool. As an avid traveler myself, I use the daylights out of the iPhone. I will never forget how key the iPhone's navigation was to getting me through the mazes of Venice.
Very useful video. Thank you.
🐬 great video 👍
Nice video
Hi! How did you add the Priority Pass Card to Wallet? Thanks!
Great timing for this video, I’m leaving for Spain tomorrow and I learned a lot of information that will come in handy there🐬
How was Spain?
Excellent video dawg 👍
Does iCloud Photos have to be on in turn to use shared Library? That menu with all participants does not appear for me.
Thank you so much, as I wasn’t aware one could do all of that on the iPhone.
Love it
Testing once more
Wow,, where were you 2 weeks ago when I went to Jamaica. I had no idea how to use my iPhone for all this but I knew I could.
I was on vacation myself! haha
"Converter+" is the best converter app period
Is the shared audio feature limited to Apple AirPods or the Beats equivalent? Or does this work with other Bluetooth enabled headphones?
Only AirPods and Beats
only airpods and beats unfortunately
i will use them
It would have been good if you had included offline maps tutorial. I have found them VERY helpful in traveling overseas when wifi isn't always available.
Apple's version of translation is great but Immersive translate is just as better. I have been using Immersive translate for translation of foreign languages and I have loved the experience as it always get everything on point.
Awesome videos sorry I’m soo late
No problem 😊 thanks for watching!
Perhaps you mentioned and I didn’t pay attention, but you can also use spotlight to do the same conversions and flight tracking.
Yes you can!
What kind of AirPod case is that?
🐬 - shared photo library was something I wasn’t aware of
While your items are great, these do not work well in all countries with the US model. Did a recent trip in the Far East and trying to use local SIMs (US model has eSIM only) was frustrating. I ended up using another device. Still, a decent video. Thanks.
Apple Maps is horrible in the Netherlands too. Also the quality of translation is quite bad for some languages. Hope this will change soon
Apple Maps is still lagging here in Europe, even in big cities. I'm using it only if I already know where I need to go, and need to know the local area I'm in. Missing also a lot of basic city information, like name of parks, churches, city hall, school.. any non-commercial areas in fact.
The learn to travel for free link is not working 😥
Please consider slowing your speech, it would make it easier to follow along
Bro has Pokémon blue on the table. Not so subtle flex 😅
🐬 Fernando, this was one of your best videos. A lot of great features that can be easily applied. FYI: You must stop saying, "without further ado" in your videos. That is just a bad habit that you must break. There are dozens of other ways to introduce your video. Give something else a try 🤷🏼♂
I agree. Too many KZheadrs get into that habit.
Well, I already used them. 🐬
Don't mind me, just testing new premium emoji
I’m from Australia and always use Google maps, however last week in the UK I realised that Apple Maps is much better there.
A vote for a how-to of the Translate app please.

I think you have to be a certain age to understand this lol
i am just a big Miami Dolphins football fan. So its a little easter egg for the people that make it to the end of the video. thank you for watcing!
I just wonder which iPhone case is in this video. 🤔
We’re in Jacksonville stop by and have a beer.
Brother in law lives down there! Next time!
@@9to5Mac no problem. Wanted to say thank you. We retired 3 yrs ago and got our first I phone. The 12. Now we have 15 pro max thanks to you and 9 to 5 Mac for helping up learn about our phones and now watches and air pods. So thank you for all you do.
🐬 Thanks Fernando! This was great.
🐬
Tapping the camera app...I don't get a Shared Library icon 🤷♂
I have the same problem. I think it is because I turned off iCloud. After all, I do not want to keep paying for more iCloud space.
😄
🎉
lol im over here watching in 2x speed. you do you, man.

no im not
ewww Google maps on the homescreen
I shouldn’t have to say this, but telling your viewers that they’re doing something wrong in the title of your video, doesn’t make people want to watch your video.
More than half of the Apple community buys phones that they do not need like the promax and Pro models so everybody that owns a pro model phone that doesn’t utilize the camera and hardware and software features are completely doing it wrong
Exactly
Yet I still watched it.
What a soft world we living in …
Awww Dan Mills is soft
These videos are super helpful, but I'm constantly put off by videos that start with the premise that I'm doing something wrong. Better title: "Get more mileage from your iPhone | 25 iOS tips for Travel!"
But if you’re not using these features and getting the same things done the long way, you’re already doing something wrong 🥱🥱
A translation app meant for travel and touring that is so limited in its language choices, becomes useless, forces us to default back to the Google option. It has stayed limited like that for years! Why do you want us to stick a dolphin at the end of our comment? I mean, why not a fox or an elephant?
@@javirancheros8781 that’s so cute! thanks! 🧜♀️
3:36 - Apple Translate, useless. Just a few languages, but they're selling phones all over the world. Also Apple Maps, useless.
