    • There used to be a Superman statue at the very top that would look down at the riders as they approached the top but I guess they removed it.

    • And it feels even higher because it is built on top of the mountain so you can see the entire valley when you are up there. Same goes for many of their rides.

  • When it first opened it was the equal fastest roller coaster in the world. The other was the similar Tower of Terror 2 in Australia, which opened 2 months earlier.

  • I went when it first opened and couldn’t even get on because the lines were too long, but during 2006 I went and there was hardly anyone in the park, my friends and I rode Superman 4 times in a row. I didn’t think I would like it but it is so fun, the only bad part is that the ride is really LOUD

  • Basically a 45 minute line for a 45 seconds ride...lol! When it first opened the lines were over an hour so it took me a couple of years before I rode Superman the ride.

  • me and my cousin stayed in this line for a good hour and 30 mins thinking it led to a different rollar coaster. we got shot right up into the air feeling completely scammed after wating an hour for a ride we didn’t think we’d be going on.

  • The carolina cobra at Carowinds in Charlotte nc does a similar thing but with some twists and loops. Its not a launch coaster, it pulls you backwards, then let's you go but when you get to the other side, it holds the train, pulls you up and let's you go back down backwards. One of my favorite non loop coasters I've ever ridden.

    • @@brandondeel3567 Carolina Cobras is a very common clone that is the exact same as the 44 other Boomerangs. Superman Escape From Crypton is one of only 1-2 other coasters that are similar. Superman is also straight up and back down, where as the Boomerang clones have complete layouts and completely different elements. Even the trains are drastically different, as well as the manufacturers. Vekoma made the Boomerangs, where as Intamin made Superman.

  • On testing days before opening they had to delay the opening because the test dummies arms ripped off.. Even delayed the commercial that was supposed to be filmed.. Company will never admit it..

  • Valencia California, not Los Angeles. I also like Superman because it’s(I assume) the fastest coaster in California. And Six Flags Magic Mountain is an Amusement Park with the most roller coasters in the world, with about 18-19 coasters combined.

  • Of course for the first few years you traveled FORWARD out of the loading dock then you free fell backwards as you returned. I haven’t ridden it since they reversed the direction you’re facing.

  • Omg, i actually went on the ride back in 2019 on accident! lol In oct 2019 my high school was taking me and the other kids to 6 flags and I was paired up with someone i knew. When I saw that superman ride I said “no way in hell I’m going on that ride😅”! My buddy was choosing which ride we’d go and so we went in line and I didn’t know what ride it was and he never told me! I thought it was just another roller coaster or something? And so once we got on it and we took off fast, I had my eyes closed the entire time until it was over!m. Once we got off, I asked him what ride did we just get on. And he pointed right at the Superman ride and I was like “WHAT?? WE WENT ALL THE WAY UP THERE?!?!”😱😱 If I knew we were going, I would’ve chickened out! But it’s crazy that I went on that ride on accident and I never noticed until after I got off!😂😂

    • The coaster gets basically tired and struggles because it was one of only two coasters built like this so they can’t really do much to repair it so If you ride it at the beginning of the day it goes a little higher

It is pretty much like saying Disneyland (Anaheim), Knotts Berry Farm (Buena Park), Universal Studios (Hollywood) and any other tourist attraction is in Los Angeles. They are all in different cities in L.A. county. If you grew up there you would know this.
