I went to six flags with my wife many years ago. We saw a huge line for this ride but couldn’t see the actual ride at the time. We waited 2 hours for what ended up being the worst ride we’ve ever ridden on. Seeing this KZhead video brings us closure. We can move on with our lives and finally begin to heal. Thank you.

I hope this channel looks into a coaster from the same park way back in the day named Flashback. It was track configured in a cubical shape overall with twists and turns going through the maze like pattern. EVERYONE came off that ride holding their heads and necks. It isas a whiplash and concussion simulator.

For anyone wondering what has happened since this video: La Ronde has cancelled their planned installation of the coaster as Vipère, as the coaster has disappeared from storage and the concrete footings were poured but later removed - probably for the best. Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage, a single-rail RMC Raptor, has been put up where First Flight (and Tidal Wave) used to stand and is using its queue building, obviously rethemed to Wonder Woman.

From someone who go to La Ronde each year because there's nothing at about an hour or 2 from where i am , i'm glad we didn't get this monstrosity of a " coaster " , even if nothing replaced it , it's still better than wasting money on this ''coaster''

I rode this years ago, got whiplash and my ankle smacked against something metal, causing a cut on my achilles heel. I got off the ride and showed my bloody sock to the ride operator. Guy was like “yeah, happens all the time.”

I remember when X was opened, and I'll never forget that coaster! There was a reason people were willing to withstand a 3+hour queue. It truly felt like flying, far more than any coaster that preceded it. The host isn't kidding about the downtimes though. I remember finally arriving with my group to the front of the line, and just when it was our turn to board the ride had to be shut down. We elected to wait vs whatever token reimbursement the staff offered, and gleefully hopped on 30 minutes later. Worth it.

I have ridden on its spiritual successor, Eejanaika. I’m willing to bet Eejanaika is just as amazing at least, as it’s pretty much the same thing, just longer and with even more inversions. Without a doubt my favorite coaster of all time. A must have experience for sure.
Yea I used to hear about X when it first opened. Not for the ride experience but for the legendary wait times. The prospect of driving the 3hrs down to Valencia to then get in a 4hr line to have half the day be over was unappealing. It did make for shorter lines on all the older coasters though.

I'm convinced Green Lantern is a cursed IP outside the comics, given how the movie bombed, the cartoon was cancelled, and it had a horrible amusement park ride.
Emerald Knights was ok.
It's a shame because it has good lore.
In a similar fate next to the Fantastic 4 movies as well as the infamous Captain Marvel movie (though to be honest, Fantastic 4 before the 2015 abombination was better than those two). Cursed would be somewhat an understatement and like Green Lantern, I pray one day that he will get a good film somewhere.

The coolest part of the Batman ride was the actual entryway. It was your standard warehouse batcave setup, but in the middle of the room was a hologram of the batmobile. While queuing up for a ride one time, I reached "into" the hologram and pretended to rotate it; upon doing so the hologram actually rotated with my hand! The unit they were using must have had some sort of motion tracking, although no attention was ever drawn to this feature by the entry setup. Just a neat little memory from high school this video brought up. It was a pretty fun coaster too, a little short but my friends and I had season passes so we'd always go on slow days and ride it till we got sick when it first opened.
as someone who has worked at Gröna Lund in Sweden, I can say that there is almost always something wrong with Insane, and a lot of staff are constantly betting on when it will stop working again
My father hates rollercoasters and rides. Somehow I managed to convince him to ride this ride when we went in 2012. I regretted it. He regretted it. Never again.

The most brutal ride I've ever been on. Near got myself a concussion from how violent it whipped me and my siblings around. A true one and done experience. I never touched that again.
man, I went on X2 with my family and none of us had a good time. I described it as someone sticking me in a jar and shaking it around- there was one point towards the end where my head kept getting slammed against the back of my seat and I started getting legitimately scared that I was going to get hurt. I can't imagine how bad Green Lantern must have been if it was worse
You know how at the bottom of X's first drop, you're flipped onto your back so you're not completely against the restraints? Imagine if it didn't do that, and all the ride's forces went to all the wrong places...throughout the entire ride. That should give you an idea of how bad GL was.
I just rode X2 for the first time a few days ago. I was feeling a bit anxious while waiting in line having heard about how crazy and possibly painful the ride is. My experience was that it was incredibly smooth and I had no had slamming even at the end part. I WAS sitting in an inside seat which apparently is smoother, but I'm sure one of your family members had an inside seat, so I'm not sure why some people have such a rough ride. I hadn't been to Magic Mountain for 15 years and X2 was the third ride I went on so I was also worried about getting banged around and feeling bad for the rest of the day in the park. The roughest ride I went on all day was my second ride, Viper. It doesn't seem to have held up so well over the years.
@@Speedfreak515 I've been to MM at least a dozen times (albeit not recently) and Viper always stood out as the one (non-wooden) ride my friends hated, as it is so rough. Though tbh I never minded it. I didn't know X2 had a bad rep at all, I always thought it was amazing.
I always go on X2, whenever it isn’t broken that is, but one time I felt like I got punched full force on the back of my head right near the end of the ride.

I got stuck on this coaster in 2015 with my dad - face down at the end of the experience. When we finally got out of the ride, we agreed it was the worst coaster we've been on. I just called him to say "EVERYONE HATED THAT THING" and he was relieved we weren't out of line for saying so.

Omg same thing happened to me, I got stuck upside down with my friend and it was just awful! I am terrified of coasters malfunctioning.
In my opinion, being stuck upside down is still better than being stuck on a singing ride. I got stuck on the singing heads portion of Disneylands Haunted Hansion for 10 minutes and euuuuuugh. Imagine hearing a single line of a song repeated for that long. I'm just lucky it wasn't Small World.
I typically don’t comment on videos but this one gave me such intense flashbacks I had to share. It had to have been 2015, so after the throwing star had been filled in to reduce spins. My sister, my mom, and I all decided due to both the lack of line and the fact we had never rode Green Lantern before, we would give it a shot. Suffice to say, we never rotated once on that ride, and my sister blacked out as the ride entered into its final drop. My mom had severe bruising on her chest due to her body hitting the restraints. I, meanwhile, did not get injured but Green Lantern left such a mark on us that we still call it the worst ride we have ever been on
I rode this years ago and all I remember was how much pain I was in when I got off. The back of my head got slammed so many times I wanted to get off as soon as the first turn came.

I blacked out on Goliath coaster during a Magic Mountain "free preview". Soon after I became coaster phobic and never went to amusement parks again. I remember how Goliath took a really long time to officially open although Taco Bell commercials kept saying coming soon to magic mountain. I was surprised how many people would tell me they were going to magic mountain for free to try out a rollercoaster, it was then I knew Six Flags Corp uses people as guinea pigs when there are complaints from humans.

I rode Green Lantern First Flight in November, 2011. It was terrible! The pain and pressure I felt on my chest and in my head was close to unbearable, especially on that last element. We finally stopped in the upside down position which only added more pain to the already painful experience. I celebrated when the ride was closed in 2017.

I think, given Deadpool’s style of humor, they would play up the ball trauma aspect and name it Deadpool’s Dick Smasher in 4D

A ride based on an R-rated series might be a tough sell, though, so maybe it could be an overlay of another ride that’s only broken out during later hours. “Hello, and welcome to Space Mountain: the Deadpool Experience. I hope defunctland looks into another former coaster from the same park named Flashback. It gave people whiplash and concussions on the regular. I don't know anyone who walked off that ride not holding their neck or head. The side of the foreheads would dribble back and forth between the neck rests, it felt like Manny Pacquiao was doing some insane multi combos to your head.

15:25 this is the only type of 4D coaster we got in Planet Coaster and it is surprisingly difficult to build right. It's a very fine line between fun and vomit for these things

Lawyers are usually the best at navigating the patent filing process. Abraham Lincoln was once a patent attorney, and he patented an invention to help boats over obstructions, making the only US president to have a patent.
My girlfriend is in law school and has friends who plan on going into patent law, almost all those folks have engineering/STEM backgrounds since it majorly helps to understand the science behind the products you’re helping to patent. My guess is that’s the case with this guy

Was at magic mountain today. Saw a green lantern walk around character standing next to where the ride was. Bold move
Man I remember seeing this ride when I went there as a school trip, seeing how the cars wouldn't rotate around the bends much if at all and thought it looked lame and never rode it. I think my balls now thank me for that decision
Seeing COVID-19 show up in a “retrospective” gave me whiplash. Not as bad as Green Lantern did, though.

In 2015 my mom took me to six flags for my birthday, and to this day we still chat about how much of a horrible experience this rollercoaster was. I was not expecting finding a KZhead video actually confirming that we went on THE worst ride in the whole park 😅
I remember getting on this ride. Massive pelvic pain. Was dying to get off the ride near midway with how painful it was.

The Joker at Six Flags arlington was surprisingly comfortable for being such a similar style coaster! Also the most painful ride I’ve ever been on was Batman at the same park. Smashed my shoulders and pelvis and ribs, AND I dang near wound up with cauliflower ear

I’ve lived in Santa Clarita my whole life and everything you said was true. The ride was a laughing stock at the park and everyone avoided it. The lines were empty or just a 10 minute wait. When they closed it a lot of people predicted they would get rid of it, plus they put Crazanity near it as an attention grabber while they worked on it. I love our park and I hope to see its future success
La Vipere was cancelled due to the pandemic. The location it was meant to be in is currently a parking lot for employees. Now an eyesore for anyone going to queue for the Splash when it opens. The lack of rides in that region of the park has reduced traffic to the Manitou (a spinning pendulum), Chaos (a ring back and forth ride with an inversion), and Boomerang (self explanatory).
Americans tried to invade Québec twice, and now they''re sending us Green Lantern: First Flight? I'm really starting to doubt how friendly our southern neighbour really is...

Exactly why i usually skip the Beserker (flat ride) at Kings Dominion. Hanging by a shoulder harness for seconds at a time on a 40 year old ride, yeesh. Haven't ridden in awhile, scary ride for sure!
It’s funny. Theres another green lantern themed coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ that was opened at the same time, and, despite being a totally different ride system, ALSO has a ball-busting reputation. That one’s because it’s a stand-up coaster and part of the restraints lie right in the problem zone. On the other hand, for reasons unknowable, female riders seem to love it 🤔
I remember one of my cousins described that ride by saying "It punches you in the d**k".

I went on it right before it closed and I also remember having fond memories of it. That was until the operator told me he hated the ride and after I got off... I had to agree with him.

The green lantern in Great Adventure is easily the worst coaster I have ever rode on. Ball busting, head banging, whip lash, etc. I got off and I was miserable for a solid hour
4:00 I loved the X-treme ride at Magic Mountain. That has always been one of my favorite roller coasters.
