On this week’s episode Crouchy has finally recovered from his illness enough to escape the ‘house arrest’ San Marino had placed him under. So he joins the rest of the boys back in the pub discussing substitutes and Paddy Power’s new Super Sub offer.

Don't change your mind mate.. this pod has just unlocked a memory. our Sunday league goal keeper was out for a season with what was called at the time a mystery virus. So for the full season I went from being a midfielder to a goal keeper. fast forward to the end of the season awards when the cheeky bastards decided to give me most improved player.. 22 years it took for me to realise I had been done 😅 thanks for the birthday present

That game where Sidwell came on against Wigan and we were 3-0 up, I was right behind the shot when he scored and it actually broke the net.
When the England team played at OT before Wembley was finished. The team all went to a restaurant down the road from me in Swinton in Manchester. Years later they still had the signed shirts on the wall. I bet your signature is on there somewhere.
In the days of the only one substitute. As a 12 year old, I was promoted from the 2nd team, to the 1st team bench. As a 12 year old, that was massive lol.
I remember one sub only too. Only used if there was an actual injury so you just sat there nearly every match. So I said no eventually and played all the 2nd team matches after that!

Try recieving 'sportsman of the year' Central Ajax, mid warwickshire League Tim flowers was there. Ace keeper. But yeah, got Sportsman of the year' 1993 Still got the trophy. Genuinely proud tho in a slightly weird way.
Players, player was always a popularity thing. I went to a different school to the rest of the team I played in. But I got managers player every year. There was far better players than me and none of them ever got it because they wasn't in the main popular group!
Who has been on the bench the most without ever playing? That's the record you don't want and somebody must have it.

Probably a goalkeeper. One of chelseas longest serving players, Matej Delac, was there for 8 years and had 0 appearances for them 😂
@@canonogic But Delac wasn't even a regular on the bench. Steve Harper was a Newcastle player for 20 years and at LEAST 12 of them he was kept on the bench by Shay Given
