I remember watching him do this and just thinking “oh god he didn’t” because no one should be crazy enough to actually make a list of every item in build mart builds. But if anyone was gonna go this hard on something it would be Techno.
Pretty sure Dream did basically the same thing, coincidentally on the very same night Techno stayed up doing this

funniest part was after when dream and techno were talking and dream said he did something very similar and wrote a whole java program for it but he didn't end up using it. those two are insane

In hindsight, it probably would have been a good idea to also give Wilbur a crafting list, since wood is crafted into so many different things his time would have been very well spent doing that.

The thing thats crazy to me is how between MCM and MCC how many times have gamemodes/mingames and even the events themselves been changed to slow Techno down. The reason MCM stopped doing Hunger Games every round and added more games was because Techno kept winning and they wanted to even the playing field. Then even those games were being dominated by Techno (TNT Run winning streak, for example). So they kept giving him teammates that would limit him (no offense meant to them, just how team balancing works) and he would win anyway a lot of the time. Then in MCC Bingo, Build Mart, and maybe another game that I'm not remembering were significantly changed to stop strategies Techno exploited. Its not even like he's the absolute best player period, you can definitely argue that Pete, Dream, Quig, etc are even with him or possibly better. But yet somehow its Techno that keeps having to be held back by stuff like that. I just think its hilarious how much people fear him breaking these events
I think the difference is that Techno understands how to break games. He's done testing for Hypixel in the past and seems to just understand how to create effective strategies. Other players are better than him in certain aspects, but I don't think anyone else has the combination of all-round skill and strategy.
the main thing is Techno is too big brain, you could say fruitberries is really good at speedbridging, and he could easily dominate TGTTOS, but Techno could probably find a way to manipulate some weird janky mechanic of certain thing in the map to give him an advantage over fruitberries to go even faster with TGTTOS
you know techno is a better "Minecraft player" so is docm. dream is a god at pvp but when it comes to the main part of the game he is average. the fact is there are meany players only good with one or two things and dream is one of those.

the funny thing is that Dream did the exact same thing, and they were talking about it afterward Techno: I went through the VODS and counted every block from all 26 structures- Dream: there's 27 dream included some but not all the holiday builds

I remember watching this live and as they all got back to the build zone realising what was going on and just thinking "oh no.... He didn't" and watching in a mix of awe and horror as the points just skyrocketed.
You see, the brilliant part about this is that at the end when they were getting 1st finishes in rapid succession not only were they flying to the top at an exponential pace, the other teams couldn't do much about it when the strategy had taken full effect since chasing after them trying to get builds done wouldn't give them as many points since Techno's team had done all the late-game builds first already. Add onto this that in the late game the ordinary team would probably be gathering resources for those later builds and you've got the recipe for an essentially insurmountable lead.
The KZhead algorithm has a cruel sense of humor
What about a video of all the times Techno broke the game ? Ofc this would be in, but the HitW neo jumps are also great, maybe include his "rigging" of the twitter votes (thinking about MCCPride when he ordered his goons to vote depending on their initials) i'm sure the list could be expanded

It was hilarious watching, and also afterwards when it turned out Dream had had generally the same idea independently he didn't fully commit to it and command his team on board like Techno did though I don't think
And after wining Build Mart, it was all in vain, they lost the game at the very end due to HBomb destroying them in a 1 v 2 clutch in DodgeBlot, and after the event, Technoblade continued to farm potatoes to win his Third Potato War against Squid Kid, and Wilbur (Still wearing the skin he wore in the event) started a drug empire on the Dream SMP, which resulted in the creation of L'Manberg, which resulted also the Dream SMP becoming popular
I’d love to see an analysis of dreams team in sands of time, particularly when he was the sand keeper. That was a surprise to many and I feel like his teams have been popping off in SOT recently.

Techno was consistent on participating on MCC, he was one of the guys who didn't leave it or tried it out one time he constantly tried to improve his gameplay and mastered some maps and make strategies. Him saying he can't wait to play MCC again just breaks my heart. He was consistent I was watching everytime until it stopped. And we all know what happened. Rest Easy Techno.

I realy like this style of mc content. Just analyzing and summarizing how memorable mc moments came to be and how they were accomplished. It definitely pulls in intrest from new fans of mc content and brings back early fans to memory lane as well whilst possibly making them learn something new they didnt know before.
This was such a good mcc to watch especially with other people's reactions to them just dominating- I'm actually just here to ask you to check out jfork tho, just found them and their "For the coin" MCC edit was so cool (also they have other cool stuff)

There was actually one more way this strategy could have gone wrong that the video doesn’t cover. In a VC after the event, Techno was detailing his strategy to Dream, and Dream pointed out that there are actually 27 builds because he also spent all night looking through the builds. Techno would have hit a massive roadblock if the one build he didn’t account for popped up during the event.

As someone who played Speed Builders on Mineplex pretty religiously, I never saw this strategy as super huge brain. I would've thought of this if I was in MCC. I'm just surprised that Noxcrew didn't combat this from the get go by changing out the builds from time to time. There used to be only 90 Speed Builds on Mineplex, and after a few months, most of us grinders had them down, so they had to release another set of builds. They kept doing this about 3 or 4 times a year. Today, even though the game is dead on Mineplex, there are over 1000 Speed Builds, and not many have all of them memorized. Just my take. It's smart, and game-breaking, but not *GALAXY BRAIN*

watching this live was absolutely INSANE, i have nothing but respect for techno's dedication to something as simple as a Minecraft championship
The moment when you heard the word "Shopping List" you could hear the maniacal laughter in the background just mocking the rest of the competitors
Another game that had to be changed (at least in part) due to Techno was Bingo. In the earliest versions, keepInventory wasn't enabled, so Techno just went on a killing spree to get as many of the items as he could. They later enabled KeepInventory so PVP wouldn't be so devastating or profitable.

I’m pretty sure that this strategy could still work Even with the randomization they would have a lot of blocks to work with Plus they didn’t even use all of the blocks and have a lot left over which could be used on other builds as well as having another teammate just go out and get what they’re short on This might not be a first place strat since mcc 7 team only just squeaked out a victory but that’s at least top half if there’s good communication and response time

You could just reverse engineer the randomizer
I personally would like to see more content based on the current S tiers such as Pete, Quig, Fruit as they are often out of the spotlight compared to those on the Dream SMP. Good video though!

I'm pretty sure this also led the Noxcrew to introducing the fan builds we see in modern MCC's, because in the MCC 14 update video they said they now had a pool of builds to draw upon of over 1300, which is a pretty definite deterrent to anyone going for a shopping list strategy

Technoblade is a very competitive but smart player. He has a incredible mindset that makes him skyrocket through anything he plays, as he will always find an exploit sooner or later. He’s competitive and that’s why his motivation is always through the roof, and not to mention he’s really funny and his monotone voice makes everything funnier. Summary, techno is a PVP god, Strong mindset, competitive, funny, intelligent, and talented in general.
