You worked hard on this mattress and it was well worth it. Maybe it's not perfect compared to a new mattress but if someone doesn't have a mattress and is sleeping on the floor or on a really bad mattress or mat, this cleaned mattress would be a real blessing. It's pretty close to new in appearance now and I doubt there are any real concerns. Best wishees to you and whomever receives or purchases this mattress.

You worked very hard on it and, I have to admit, the water draining from it was clear. I wouldn't want to have to sleep on it, but, before I slept on the hard floor, I would swallow my pride, say thank you, and curl up for the night. Thank you for all the work that you put in on this.

@@hussein6173 I have to disagree with you on that point. I know that, for many people, that is true because my husband loves sleeping on hard floors. I will admit that I have been an insomniac since I was at least a toddler as my parents can attest. But when I have to sleep on a hard mattress are the floor I cannot sleep at all. I endure it until I can no longer take it and then I get up and sit and wait for dawn. I feel as if I have been kicked and stomped. My bones are not very well covered and maybe that's the cause of it but it is very painful for me and the next day I am stiff and sore all over. For the first 20 years of our married life my husband believed in firm mattresses so I was absolutely miserable. He had open heart surgery in 2000 and spent almost two months in the hospital. Afterwards we spent a couple of weeks at his son's house in Houston so that he would be close to the medical center. During that period his son and wife gave us their bedroom as it was downstairs and they had a soft mattress. After we have been lying there the first night for several hours he finally turned to me and said, "Honey, I have to admit this bed is very comfortable". Those words changed my life and the day I brought him home I headed to the store to buy a nice, thick, cushy, pillow top mattress. It was fine for him but I still more, so I bought a 4 inch memory foam topper. At long last I was finally comfortable, but it was too much for him. So being a frugal woman at heart, I cut the mattress down the middle and put both sides on my side of bed. I, of course, was an absolute heaven. But he wasn't very happy as I was now 8 in higher than he was and he had to climb a mountain in order to get any loving 🤣 It was pretty comical and not terribly convenient so I did end up taking that second layer off. We still had to come together for sex but I did sleep so much better than I had for the first 40 years of my life

Also what is wrong with your head if you think bed bugs can survive such a thorough cleaning process let alone all those chemicals. You must've failed the IQ test.
This is a reminder to: shower before bed, use a sheet & mattress protector (especially if you have a job that causes you to get dirty), and to not eat in bed. Simple measures can prevent heavy staining. And for blood stains, hydrogen peroxide for blood stains.

There is also another incredible stain that can occur. It is from "spontaneous diarea" which is common in people over 70. That brown color looks to me to be that discoloration from this source.

Yes, we use chlorine and baking soda during washing, which kills insects in addition to disinfecting

I've seen a facility in Las Vegas, Nevada U.S.A. that resells used mattresses that are usually from the hotels or from store floor models. Overall, they still look good. The mattresses are washed/cleaned/sanitized into a huge autoclave machine and giant dryer. They look brand new thereafter. Then, the matresses are wrapped in protective plastic before they go to the store display. They are a lot cheaper than brand new mattress. They are also good to sleep on like brand new matress.

Reminds me of the big cotton matting mattress at my grandmothers that I loved so much! It was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever known. I’ve looked at buying something like it and the price tag is nearly $10,000. After this labor of love this bed was completely sanitized and looked amazing after all that hard work. It was definitely cleaner than anything at the second hand store and cleaner than what’s in many homes.

No hate, as the effort that was put into this is amazing, but she is right. There is bound to be disgusting crap embedded in that mattress. For the cost of the amount if water and soap that was used, as well as the labor, you probably could bought another. But good on them. This transformation is crazy.

As you certainly did a great job making this look new again, it makes me wonder how worn the springs have become from walking and jumping on it. Also, while the mattress dries if the springs rust and show rust marks from the inside through the material. I’m with many other commenters, no matter how clean you got this I don’t think I’d want it to sleep on.

I agree with you that I would not sleep on it, but if it w between a hard concrete floor then I would think again. Although I have never been so poor as to not have a bed or a roof over my head and food on the table.

It's a total waste of water. It's clear this was done just for the purposes of having a video to upload. The springs will 100% rust and the amount of water, detergent and time spent on this crap would probably be enough for a brand new mattress...

The fact that these two men got it as clean as they did really is a testament to their hard work and the chemicals they used....I thought for sure the material was going to rip from all that scrubbing....makes me wonder if the insides of the mattress is going to dry before it starts to mold, though....great job cleaning it....made for some good entertainment none the less....

You guys are awesome to take your time cleaning a mattress. I didn't realize you could clean a mattress in this type of way. That's a super clean. I always thought getting a mattress wet mold would start to grow. You learn something new everyday.

I had a solid latex mattress that came with do not get wet instructions. No explanation just do not get wet. And I used to shower and wash my long hair before bed. Which was a problem because I don’t like to blow dry my hair.

I should know, I make foam by the hundreds of tonnes every month, and we also make luxurious mattresses as well. People often wonder what makes a new car smell the way it does, and it the brand new foam in the seats that is the secret behind that new car smell. ❤😊
