  • Just a quick thing to point out: You can just completely skip the whole need of doing Poke Radar for IVs with this stuff via fossils. Omanyte and Kabuto from the Dome and Helix fossils in the under ground after getting the national Dex, when revived from the fossil reviving guy in the first gym city, will always be created with 3 IVs being max guaranteed, and are part of Water 1 and Water 3 egg group. So, just get a couple of either, at least 1 male and female, hopefully with the 3 best IVs in separate stats, and eventually you will get a 6 Iv one as male, which the fossil mons are more likely to be male too, so chances of it being female 6iv are quite low. Just for anyone who really dislikes Poke Radar.

  • If you are wanting to start breeding with more easily accessible Pokemon, I have some recommendations: Field/Monster: Instead of Nidoran, use Rhyhorn (it's accessible in the underground much sooner than Nidoran!) Field/Human-Like: Instead of Spinda, use Buneary. Water 1/Water 3: Instead of Corphish, Omanyte or Kabuto *may* be more accessible; however, while they automatically start with 3+ IVs, they also have a much lower percentage of females so it's a big toss-up. Faerie/Grass: Instead of Hoppip, use Roselia These are 1:1 replacements for the chart above; that is to say, it's not diverging from the path and pairings. Just some more easily acessible replacements to some of the suggestions above!

    • Hey so when BDSP gets access to pokemon HOME, which has been confirmed to be happening even though we don’t know exactly when (hopefully early 2022), you’ll be able to bring anything compatible with these games from HOME into BDSP. Therefore, you never even have to play Sword or Shield to bring your Ultra Moon pokemon up! Simply subscribe to Pokemon Bank on the 3DS, put all of the pokemon you want to transfer up in the Bank, and use the built in Bank -> HOME transfer to bring them into HOME, ready to be put in BDSP when connection finally happens :)

  • If you are doing any breeding without ditto, I recommend getting a male pokemon with the ability cute charm, at the head of your party it will force most wild encounters to be female, so you can start breeding new species faster. It even works on entire caverns of the grand underground as the pokemon spawn, and can be switched out to a different lead pokemon before the encounters start.

  • Just a quick hint on the Flame Bodies, Magby had Flame Body as well, so you don't need to evolve it to Magmar. But the easier thing is just using a Pokemon with Magma Armor. So every Slugma and Magcargo works, as it can only have Magma Armor or Flame Body but you can also use Camerupts, which you can find in the "normal" caves AND the volcanic ones. We don't have access to Pokemon with Steam Engine in BDSP but those would work as well.

You could start with a version exclusive fossil in the monster group, breed it with nidoran, breed nidoran with bidoof, and then follow the rest of the chart to fill out the rest of your egg groups.

Which will help me get my breeding team together for all the competitive stuff! When it comes to breeding, something I would recommend is getting a high-IV male Smeargle for your breeding pool. Unless they have changed how it works, Sketch will copy any move permanently, allowing that Smeargle to pass *any* egg moves to *any* Field group Pokemon. It can really save you tons of time.

  • Damned Bidoof; I guess it gets all the memes for a reason, huh? Really puts in the work lol. I was blown away by the Bidoof method. I think I'm going to attempt it just for the fun of it. I mean, I have 6IV Dittos in Sword so eventually I'll be able to transfer them in but if I'm successful they'll be redundant unless I want to breed for shinies, as they are foreign dittos lol

  • Just hunted ditto last night, after getting a feel for it after 3 fails I successfully got to 40 in two hours. Caught my shiny Ditto at my 4th attempt, to be honest I think people aren't hunting right because from what everyone says that should have been a lot harder to do. I also got a me a few perfect 3 iv ditto I can use in the meantime. Absolutely stoked that the Destiny Knot is in the game.

  • Thanks for the info! Im not really a competitive pokemon nerd, nor do I think I will have the time spent on the game to breed this much. But maybe I could start slow and breed high Stat pokemon over time! (I normally only breed pokemon that I want for my pokedex, like eevee for its evolutions.)

  • One more small thing. You can get the everstone in Snowpoint city by trading a Medicham to the girl in the house for her Haunter. She trolls you and has Haunter hold an Everstone. I was so mad the first time I did that, but its worth it now lol

  • This is the first guide (I have searched many and many) throughout youtube which inludes the bidoof way. For a player who wants to do it all legit (Ditto does not feel legit) and does not wanna roll as high odds as chaining 40+ dittoes I was saved by this video. I have gotten to 5 iv bidoof in about 6 hours. I am struggling to hit the 6iv though. Any tips or is it just to get the lucky 1/156-188 (What I have calculated from using an extra band to not using one)?
