I had no idea how lucky I was to get to a 40 chain on my Ditto until AFTER that chain. Haven't gotten a single high chain since. The ditto chain gave me a hidden ability on 40 and a shiny on 41

I have a full useful nature set of 5 to 6 IV Ditto's send over from that one Scarlet event and I already can tell you; that still takes long with breeding. So, this really is a game of patience, but for some reason I like it. Your guide here is adding nicely to my own method. Thanks.

I got BDSM for my bday 5 days ago and just got my first perfect IV Pokémon. Never IV bred before and these videos helped so much. Because getting perfect IV dittos is a pain I found some perfect IVs on Pokémon I already had and cross bred them between egg groups to get the last one needed for my gible

This is so useful and very informative. You put a lot of effort and time to make that video but... Game Freak still doesn't let us do a quick way to get a competitive team,. It's so sad, however, I don't see another viable method but using PkHex... If you have a job and some other activities you literally can't spend your time making a team legitimately in-game. Anyway, I watched your guide from the start to the end and I must congratulate all you've done here. One of the easiest Pokémon to breed was gyarados, I got a 5 iv one in like 15 minutes, clefairy on the other hand is a pain in the ass. Good video!

🙏 This was such an excellent guide, it's utterly insightful! I'm new to breeding perfect IV pokémon, previously convinced that I needed a perfect IV Ditto to raise the pokémon I wanted. I'm so glad I found your video when I did! 😅 I started off far differently, I chose Torkoal as the first to start raising. I've reached the point where I have both a male and female with 5 perfect IVs: I was wondering if I have to keep breeding in order to get all 6 or if I need a specific power item, or if I need to use one more Ditto?
Generally think it's better to just use 2 different 5 IVs than a 6, as you typically choose either Attack or Special Attack to pass down. Sometimes you'll pass down both of those instead of 1 of the other stats you want.

Im so happy I got that max stat ditto
First of all, this is top notch content my dude. Secondly, I got so lucky last night. Chained 50 dittos, during my 3rd chain EVER. My 30th had perfect Defense and Speed while my 40th had perfect HP, Attack, and Sp. Def. I even got a ditto with perfect Sp. Atk along the way. Thanks for contributing to my success in a virtual environment 💯

i have a question i have two 5 iv pokémon’s with different stats is their any way to make it faster or have a better chance for the egg to have 6 ivs?
This guide is really good that said it was so much easier to get good iv dittos for competitive breeding in sun and moon thanks to sos chaining

I just started to get into creating a competitive Pokemon this gen and it's tough, takes a lot of time. I went the Bidoof route and it took many hours to get to 6 IVs so I decided to settle for a 5 IV Garchomp
so now just get 25 bp and buy a bottle cap and hyper train the last iv

my first chain i got 58 lol i followed the zones i kept going to like how many tiles away from myself each time i start and i always went to the 4th tile away and staying away from the corners or directly 4 tiles away from myself going vertical or horizontal. i’ve tried like 8 times and everytime it breaks at either 24 or 58 for me

The tropius is to breed pokemon that are in it's 2 egg groups (monster and grass)
Really like the video it's very informative. My question is I have a 6IV Ditto and a 5 IV larvitar and can't seem to get the 6th I've on the larvitar to be best, is there something I'm missing in order to get the final stat at best??
Last IV is always a random roll from 0-31, so you're look at a 1/32 chance each time you hatch a 5IV
Are you breeding mixed attack larvitar? If not then you dont need 6IVs.
You can pass the perfect IV from your Ditto with a power item guaranteed. The destiny knot is only needed when you already have more than one IV you want to pass on to the egg.

wow i just beat the game and followed this video and my first ever chain got to 54 and i ended up getting 4 shiny dittos but the stats weren’t good but at least they’re shiny i got one regular ditto with 3 best tho
meanwhile my 40 chain imposter ditto ended up being 4 IV, and while breeding my Gible I had a 6 IV female pop out from a 2 IV mother and 5 IV father... hidden ability Eevee breeding is my bane right now though
I gathered many fossils in the underground, and when I revived them all they had 3-4 perfect ivs. I bred them together, namely omanyte or kabuto until I had a 5-6iv omanyte or kabuto. Then I bred that with a bidoof and fathered that down to what ever egg groups I needed. Got my full team of 5-6 iv pokemon in my first day of breeding.

Yeah fossils was my method too. Especially when kabutos only have 12% female rate which is good because you want a male to breed with female bidoof

After 8 or 9 hours of grinding I finally have the 7 ditto with the ivs I need has taken so long the last one was a 2 iv shiny on my last ball haha. So now I have 7 with each I need an the final has 2 ivs. Now comes the breeding ditto grind to finally get it sorted an breed up my new team for the gym rematch an stuff

If you are using Pokemon Home, I would argue against releasing any Pokemon that you catch/breed and end up not using. You can place these Pokemon in your Pokemon home bank which holds a max of 6000 Pokemon (assuming you have the paid version which is like $3/month). The more Pokemon you have in the bank, the more points you earn which can then be converted into BP (battle points) in Brilliant Diamon/Pearl or Sword and Shield. Can also trade these Pokes with other people to get other Pokemon you might need.
This is a luxury alternative for sure, games typically don't get Bank/Home support at launch. Of course further down the line or if you pick up the games late it's a nice injection of BP for your troubles (and money spent on the service).
false swipe to 1 hp and a repeat ball is still a 40% catch rate, with sleep its 99.9%, but 100% first turn quick ball is a 60% catch rate, so i would suggest to always use a quickball first as it can save alot of time.

I know your pain, the best thing we can do is stick to the 4 tile rule and TRY to keep the chain going. Glad to be of help
Can someone please help me. Im trying to get a perfect IV magneton but since its genderless i cant breed it with itself and getting a ditto with chaining doesnt work because it keeps breaking

Pokemon can only breed with other pokemon inside their associated egg groups, or ditto. Tropius is a pokemon which is in 2 egg groups, those are the Monster and Grass egg groups. The reason I suggest to use pokemon from two egg groups as it is generally more efficient than breeding a high IV pokemon for each individual egg group. You're effectively halving the number of pokemon needed for this process
HELP I'm trying to breed a perfect Feebas, and I'm almost getting it, but I need help. I already have two feebas almost perfect (one o them has all the best IVs except for HP, and the other one has all the best IVs except for Attack). The thing is that when I try to breed with them, their sons dont come with all the best IV stats. Can anyone tell me why? I really dont know the reason. I have tried to use the power itens and the destiny knot, but i cant get the perfect Feebas. Someone help me, pleeease!
I know this is a bit late but, If I have for example a Ditto with Best IVs in HP, ATK, and SP.ATK, will it pass the best IVs to any stats or will it be just the same HP, ATK, and SP.ATK to its offspring? Thank you so much!
The same stats you mentioned are passed to it's offspring IF the destiny knot chooses those stats from the correct breeding partner
I didn’t understand this at all at first. Then i watched this video again and went step by step. I set up my pokeradar chain and begin. 1. Ditto caught 2. Ditto Acccidentally KO’d (i messed up the chain!) 3. i keep the chain somehow and get a Shiny patch. My first attempt at pokeradar i got a shiny ditto with a max speed stat on a chain of three! WHHHAAAT

Question I have been trying to get answered. I have 2 5IV Marills (same 5 ivs on both). Shouldn’t my destiny knot on one pass down all 5 best IVs and then give the random roll for the final to be perfect or am I not understanding it right?
Destiny Knot will choose 5 stats at random, it then has to decide whether parent 1 or parent 2 passes it's IV for that stat. However it can also be random, so there are 3 possible outcomes for each of these chosen stats. The final stat that wasn't chosen will still be random, and changing which pokemon holds the item doesn't influence anything either.

on the 20th, 30th, etc. chains can you swap in a synchronize pokemon to the front of your party in order to get a ditto with some perfect IVs and a good nature?
Would be best to try this with a chain of 1 to see if the pokeradar app still shows a chain, I haven't tried this so can't confirm it
I didn't bother with Ditto, seems like a lot of work with no real reward (Since getting 5 IVs or 6 is basically impossible). I bred Magikarp because it has really fast hatch time. After doing it for an hour or two I had my 6 IV breeding machine. Breeding goes really fast when you start with 6 IV pokemon. You switch the female partner in the day care or the male into the same species male with high IV offsprings and in no time you get amazing stats. Before that I tried doing the same thing with Totodile. It was really bad, hatching 3 boxes of it and none had more than 3 IVs. Getting Magikarp first is the definitely the way.
Theres a quicker way to get money: Have a pokemon hold the amulate coin and go inside victory road, on the right where the man stand before you beat cynthia, there should be a green hair couple you challenge and you will end up with $43k after versing them.
I'm 99% sure you can't rematch them. The appeal of the VS Seeker is to pick a battle that lasts a minute or so, that can be repeated as much as necessary for "good" money per hour gains.

What exactly does "4 patches away" mean for shakey grass using the pokeradar? I've been going at it for a couple hours and the highest chain I've attained is 26. I can't help but feel like I'm doing something wrong, Ive been assuming diagonal counts as 1 unit and the patch the grass is on counts too.
If you're moving on the grid with the d-pad you're moving 1 tile at a time, and grass tiles are placed 1 tile apart. So the desired patches of grass are 4 tiles away. Remember that there's still "only" a 93% chance of continuing the chain, so higher chains are very much luck based.
Can i ask one question,if i breed torchick& Blaziken, can got a torchick hidden ability or not?
well you need to have the hidden ability already to breed it some more
At 20 something I got one with 3 ivs the chain broke at 32 my highest what are the odds of getting to 32
Wait I don’t get it? Do I have to breed my Pokémon with a 100 iv ditto but the ditto has to hold the destiny knot or do I have to put the destiny knot to the other Pokémon?
Either pokemon can hold the destiny knot for the effects to pass down from the item

It doesn't work that way, hyper training is a soft boost to Individual Values and isn't passed down through breeding.
No. Hyper Training a Ditto to max it's IV's out won't work with breeding. Hyper Trained IV's don't get passed down.
Can a Best stat only be passed down or can it be inherited by luck? I have a Salamence with 1 best stat in Sp Def, breeding with a bagan with the best in Sp Def also, can I get a best in another stat from the parents or can it only be passed down if the parent has a best stat in another spot
Parents pass down a total of 3 stats between them, or 5 if one of them holds the destiny knot. All other stats are assigned a random value. The best practice is to cover as many ideal stats as you can between parents, and hatch eggs until you have the correct combination to progress to the next step.

So if I've understood this properly If I were to put a ditto in the daycare with a max IV in special attack and pair it with a cyndaquil with max IVs in attack and special defence, does their offspring have a chance to get 3 perfect IVs in attack, special attack and special defence? And if that offspring does hatch with those 3 perfect IVs, do I just swap out the cyndaquil with the offspring and get another ditto with a different perfect IV and breed them two until I get offspring with more perfect IVs?
First question: yes, you want to first prioritize different stats. Second question: yes, you've described the process pretty well.

Breeding with the same parents is not going to be the best way to get 5IVs if you aren't covering every stat you need. If you don't have speed with your parents then it's time to swap one of them out with a perfect IV speed ditto (or same egg group pokemon), and then breed back up. I assume you want a 5IV pokemon which has either Attack *or* Special Attack, so you should ensure that your parents have at least 1 of each these stats to be a 31 value (Best!).
I have a stupid question , I caught palkia it’s level 45 i think , have 3 bad random ivs ,,, how can i ev train it ?! Can’t use hyper training until it’s level 100 ! & if i leveled it up ! Im gonna mess up it’s evs ! What’s the right way to train it ?!
Keep it in a box until you do EV training, max its EVs and then level it to 100.
You’re right Super repels are in fact the most effiicient. They are .5 pokebucks per step cheaper

Is the best way to breed a gender less Pokémon up is just by using dittos and switching out the Pokémon whenever you get one with better stats? I’m wanting a good magnizone on the team and I’m curious cause it can’t breed with anything other than ditto Edit: typo: If-It

My chains break near 10... porbably post 1.1.2 patch? Which they reduced the % at 4 tiles of distance for shaky grass

No such thing as a stupid question when you want to learn. You should only be finding Dittos once your ditto chain begins, the poketch app will show you what you're tracking and what the chain is. What you need to do after is restart the chaining process from the beginning.

You can reset a chain in a few ways. Run from the battle while chaining, leave the route, enter a trainer battle, and a few others. Resetting your game is always a nuisance for me so I don't ever recommend it

Is there a minimum level requirement to breed or something? Im kinda new to this but i have a freshly hatched riolu that im trying to breed with a ditto and they dont like eachother and will not produce and egg.
Riolu falls into a group called “baby” Pokémon. You have to evolve it into a Lucario in order to breed it again. Baby Pokémon include Magby, Cleffa, Happiny, Togepi, and more.

It's all to do with egg groups, Riolu is in the Undiscovered egg group which means it cannot breed. Sorry for any confusion bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/No_Eggs_Discovered_(Egg_Group)
Baby pokemon cant breed, an evolution (like lucario) however can breed. Just train it in the underground, evolve it and then breed it

yes, otherwise you're only guaranteeing 3IVs will be passed down between the parents.
I had caught several drifloons before the post game and once I got the judgement mechanic, I found out one of them has 4 perfect Ivs, so got lucky since they are guranteed 3. Anyway I began to breed the 4iv male drifloon with a female 3iv until i got a 5iv drifloon, then put that one with the 4iv until i got another 5iv. My goal is to get a 6iv so i can keep going with the mons that are compatible to breed with drifloon till i can breed for the mons that i really want. Anway both 5Iv drifloons had the same setup, both not having the perfect Iv in attack. Literally every egg I would hatch would always have the non perfect attack. The drifloom hatchlings would range from 4-5ivs, and always had thier attack missing just like both their parents, and was not getting a 6iv. Although I know drilfloon is better off with a not best attack competitively, but im not focused on drifloon, just want a 6iv to start off with breeding to cross with mons it can breed with, till I can breed perfect Ivs in the mons that i want. Anyway I looked it up and it said that my odds of hatching a 6iv mon are like 1/196 if both 5iv parents have the same ivs, and 1/96, if the non best iv they each have is in a different stat. So that explains why I its taking longer than expected right? I had rewind and took another 3iv drifloon that had tbe perfect attack as one of them. Managed to get a 5Iv quick, with the non best Iv being its hp. So I put the 5iv male that previously had the non best in its attack Iv with the new 5iv female with the non best Iv in her Hp. So I should get a 6iv much faster correct?
You're better off using 2 5IV pokemon, one with Attack and the other with Special Attack. Those are the main IVs you pass down when breeding. If you REALLY want to breed 6IV pokemon you are at the mercy of RNG, with 2 5IV parents you are looking for all 5 Destiny Knot stats to be inherited from parents... AFTER that, you have a 1/32 chance for the final stat to roll as "Best!". I do not recommend doing this at all. Hope that helps
@@Bradbradhehe thank you for the advice. Although when i did swicth for the other 5iv that had the non best in a different stat I did end up getting a 6iv drifloon within the first 5 eggs. Not sure if that was just luck but my way is to put to 6iv mons with a destiny knit that will gurantee a minimum of 5ivs when i begin to shiny hunt
Another tip: Magma armor also works. So you don’t need flame body if you already have a mon with magma armor. Steam engine also helps but that’s only available in S&S I believe.

Can only really suggest you double check that the IVs say Best! and hatch more eggs, destiny knot's randomness can also be making things difficult.

After a streak of sometimes a minimum of 3, my grass patches just disappear and my streak ends, any idea why this happens?

I have no trouble at all getting 5 IV pokemon but I'm struggling getting a 6 IV pokemon. Was hoping for helpful information on that but you stopped at 5 practically with little to no advice on getting the 6th IV. I got a 6IV ditto from my nephew who got 1 ENG and 1 CHT 6 max IV ditto from GTS trading in pokemon home. He gave me the ENG one and kept the CHT one. Breeding a 6IV ditto holding destiny knot and a 5Iv pokemon still can't get a 6IV pokemon. I was hoping for some tips to help get that final IV.
if you understood this video it would be clear to you but I can explain anyway. We can guarantee 5 IVs are passed down from parents, but the last stat is randomly generated. An IV can roll between 0 and 31, meaning there are 32 outcomes. This means the 6th stat has a 1/32 chance to be 31. There are no tips, it's random.
@@Bradbradhehe I was afraid that was the case but was hoping to learn something I didn't already thought was the case. Hoping I was wrong and find someone who knew some tricks or loopholes to get that 6th IV besides the typical rng with no way to influence the outcome. The best I found was to put destiny knot on the 5 IV poke and a power item on the 6 IV poke for the stat the 5 IV poke doesn't have to guarantee only 1 random IV. If using items in reverse you could get the IV of the 5 IV poke that isn't best ending up going backwards getting a 4 IV offspring.
Strange everyone on different videos says you need 20 streak for 2IVS I got mine at 16 maybe less cuz it wasn't my last Ditto that got 2IVS. And sometimes I get 2Ivs ditto in the underground. 2 is not hard but still on the hunt for 3. The best IV I got was my Omanyte at 4 and thats from digging in the underground :)
for 2 "guaranteed" IVs. of course it can still be random :)
