The third iteration of my attempts at upscaling this game's cutscenes, featuring a new frame interpolation model that's MUCH better than Twixtor Pro (That ACTUALLY INTERPOLATES FRAMES instead of doing a 50% opacity merge then giving up).

15 years and we’ve never gotten a story mode like this again…. To this day I still can’t help but imagine how epic Ultimate could’ve been if World of Light was a proper story mode of this caliber, now that we have characters like Cloud, Ryu, Pac-Man, Mega Man, etc.
If it makes anyone happier, I made a video using the reveal trailers to try and make *some* kind of a crossover movie out of it like the SSE months back. But I can’t link it because KZhead will just hide my comment. I’m not shamelessly plugging myself in any way saying this, I’m legitimately just coping.
Facts, nintendo lost out, I been daydreaming about a subspace in the next installments of the series since brawl when I was young and I've been disappointed by Nintendo. Gameplay is good but adventure mode is ass compared to subspace
@@jjmaster0113pro Same. I started out with Smash 4 in 2016, but Brawl and the SSE is what brought me into Smash. Been hoping for a story mode ever since then. At this point I don't think we'll ever get another SSE.
With the amount of characters in Ultimate, it just wouldn't have been possible

I love how Dedede is on his own, mostly heroic team. It’s a fun nod to him being a good guy but also kind of a jerk in his own series

It took two days for it to process resolutions up to 4K (During which it was stuck at 360p); I imagine it will take even longer for 8K.

I actually appreciate this, there are some cutscene only details not in the game like 30:07 the circles in the background and 36:48 where some symbols pop up that aren't found in the game. I wish I could see the original textures but they're probably in the smash vault or something
This game mode had a better story than the entire sequel trilogy of star wars lol

I feel like Sakurai interprets Mario and Luigi as Mario completely neglecting Luigi and that's why Luigi's in his shadow and acts all weird in gameplay lol

It probably should be noted that other than the cutscene being set up like that for the alternative, Peach is more noticeable than Luigi anyways, and it's a pretty quick vehicle Dedede is controlling, too.

2 are Ness saying "(pk) thunder" and "(pk) flash" 1 is Lucas saying "(pk) thunder". 2 of em are "Rising Ether!" By Ike. 2 are "FALCON PUNCH!" by... well... you know already. Another 4 are "Kept ya waiting, huh?" by snake. Then captain Falcon let's out a "Come on!" As well. There are also various "Hey!"s from Wario but those don't count

I like the drum-snares whenever a new character makes his or her first appearance. 0:20 You get a high-pitched "pif" if it's a good guy, 24:55 or a low-pitched "BOOM" if it's a villain. But King Dedede?: 17:02

I will never get over how we were absolutely baited with world of light, just because there were more characters didnt make it better. We were robbed of a new story mode and I will never not be pissed we didnt get it.
It’s even worse that they refused to make a story because Sakurai got mad that the cutscenes were uploaded to up to youtube

I think if you ignore the comments about the cutscene, it would have been hard to make on this level. Heck, this game had a roster of 35 and it still couldn't incorporate all the characters in it (granted that was more due to 2 delays so it was a miracle we even got the remaining characters). So to then have a game that has over double the roster (not including dlc characters), you'd have to sacrifice a lot of the game we already have in order to make something that big.
Not really, just don't include all of the characters. Do the central ones and the ones you would like to showcase.
No matter what new smash game comes with their own neutered story modes, subspace cutscenes are eternal
After these 15 years Brawl has been around I can't believe that Nintendo made an actual movie with Smash characters that's actually better than the whole Disney franchise

@@PrideEepy64 How can I hate this? These brawl veterans looks so Damm cool. Then you have that menu them and main theme makes this all the more beautiful. The dark color scheme fits even brightly colored characters like Mario, Sonic, Kirby and Pikachu.

They’re canonically too stunted to actually fly- Palutena grants him the magic required to fly when he needs it, and even then, his body can only go so long with that much going through him before his wings literally catch fire and burn to stumps. This happened Kid Icarus Uprising when he rescued an unconscious Dark Pit. So the lack of flight is justified by Palutenas absence- all he can really do is flutter for a moment, like a chicken

Still looks so good to this day. Brawl was Nintendo at the top of their game in terms of graphical capability.

id say that the worst part about this game is that we didnt got a space ship fighting gameplay at 49:10, imagine how fucking cool i would have been to had 20mins of gameplay selection one of the ships (or two in multiplayer) and fight in the sky with minour ships and avoid the lasers and cannons.

i think the most impressive thing of this game was the blood marks on master hand, maybe this helped that rumor years ago about a more "bloody" version of the game

This was the pinnacle of smash bros. A cutscene driven story mode with never before seen character dynamics. I'd rather have the next smash bros have a smaller roster and include a story mode like this again

Fellas, if Nintendo Pictures and Illumination does a Nintendo Cinematic Universe, and they do a straight up adaptation of Super Smash Bros Brawl, it's straight up over for Marvel

Fire Emblem has a notably different tone when compared to most Nintendo stuff, the only thing close to fitting woth it being the glowed-up Kid Icarus in SSB style, which was carried to Uprising. Plus, we see Mario, Kirby, TLOZ, and Metroid intersect before through small cameos in KDL3, Super Star, Ocarina of Time, even SMRPG and Kart 8 (ft. Splatoon). Plus Punch-Out if you consder who the NES referee was.
They could make anything work period. The problem is that everyone here knows it's never happening.

2008 Teenage Memories for me when I got this game
Subspace Emissary, the best from Brawl. It was my childhood, and from a game that I’ve grown up to enjoying. And then my Wii got replaced with the downgrade Wii U, but I still played Brawl.
They did Olimar dirty using the crappy rocket over the Dolphin. I get why at the time but that late entry into subspace like an old junker wasnt glorious xD

Honestly, this is the best mode in the Smash Bros franchise. I can't deny it. I wish there will be another story mode that is emotional and adventurously just like this one. Come on, Sakuri, you done it before. Do it again!

This whole story mode in brawl was just so great and awesome, and since a super Mario bros movie was made by Nintendo and Illumination, I think they should partner up again to make a super smash bros movie with this same story line of the sub space emissary

No. Cut scenes are not rewards, they are compliments to the gameplay as it exists. It's like a POV video on a rollercoaster. Sure, you can see what happens, but that's not the same as actually riding the damn thing. Why do you have an introductory movie, if that's the case?
