I love Petra. I think she is regal and courtly and playing well this season even though not very much this game. Love her. However, Putintseva I like a lot too with her fiery spicy persona. It's all very entertaining and I think it has a place in tennis. And she has seemingly improved a great deal and on a mission this season. She looked as good as she was in 2016 when she had a good run and even beat Wozniacki in the Australian Open. She really wasn't given a lot of credit in the commentary for how well she was chasing down those Kvitova ground strokes that trouble virtually all players and putting them back on the court. Given how inconsistent Kvitova was, Putintseva's antics made for great entertainment.

It's so, so, so funny, how the commentator can't even pronounce her name correctly. He said "Putintinseva". All you need to say is "Putin" and then add "tseva". "Tseva" in Hebrew means color, so it's rather very simple "A colorful Putin", that's who she really is.

I think overall Putintseva played a good match. It seems her strategy was to play many shots with plenty of spin and not too much pace. It drew a lot of unforced errors from Kvitova, however, in the end, it was not enough to beat her.

At 5'4" 130 lbs., Yulia is an incredible warrior/athlete. She's fun to watch and always gives 100%. She does not take her time on court for granted. I also think it's kind of funny when she mouths off. She almost beats the great Petra here.

I am wondering if hey fined Putinseva for racquet abusing. If they didn't, shame on them. I've seen lately a lot of those behaviors by both male and female players. It is disgraceful to opponents as well as audiences. If you are not willing to accept losing, you should not play any sports.
