Since Aurelia is extremely rich, I like to think that she used an extremely convincing body double during her boss battle.
She was already so fifthly rich that she didn't even need the position of Jakobs CEO to begin with.

She also felt remorse for how she treated Claptrap in the Claptastic voyage dlc too. Something that only happens in the sub sub conscious if you play as one of the "good guys". So I agree it's weird how much her character changed.

Im not mad that they killed her as they were clearly trying to clear some of the board possibly for another story where they all come together. I’m annoyed that she was just a mini boss. She had weird motivation too. In the pre sequel, she seemed to be annoyed and angry at Jack actions, telling him he should be ashamed. This showed she had some good about her under that rich personality. However, she’s fine with the COV?
Yeah though it can really justbe chalked up to poor writing. Hell it'd be nice if they just took the stuff that worked from borderlands 3 and just retconned the bad stuff in 4. Kinda like what doom did to some extent.
Just do what I do and retcon the story from your mind. I don’t consider Borderlands 3 canon cause it just shits on the majority of Borderlands the Pre Sequel, Tales from the Borderlands, and just a lot of the Borderlands characters in general.

Aurelia literally had the chance to redeem herself in Borderlands 3. I really wanted to save her and not combat her because she played as the kinda good guy in Pre-Sequel, why did the writers have to fucking kill her off like that. It's almost as effective as Maya's death.
Cause they just saw her as another "bad guy" and decided to kill her off without thinking of any of her story at all. There was a ton they could've done with her if they kept her alive, and personally I would've loved it. But BL3 writing is absolutely horrible

They seriously could have juxtaposed the relationship of the Hammerlock siblings with the Calypso twins' in the storyline. The Hammerlocks may constantly bicker with one another but they know the true value of family, whereas the Calypsos may appear to be best buds but both habor a deep resentment towards each other. Great shame, what they did to her.

I dont know if Fl4k would like her perse, as he has a more hamerlocke approach to hunting for sport but, but perhaps he would have a very unique form of respect for her in a sort of "okay yeah thats an Apex Predator" fashion.
The trailer for B3 actually showed her standing with her brother and Waynewright, hinting at her trying to patch things up with her brother and redeem herself. Like the cut scenes for Maya's death, this was a bad change to make.
It’s sad that her story got cut off in BL3. She was my favorite character in pre sequal with her voice lines and just amazing high b*tch energy. I think a high class girl like her could have been so much more interesting and had such a nice redemption arch in a world full of either poor bandits or rich bafoons.
I feel like Aurelia is unique from the other vault hunters because she was the one person who didn't NEED to be there. She could literally never do another day of work in her life and be perfectly fine. She only showed up because she thought that hunting a vault might be fun.

She was such an interesting character in the franchise and that's one of several weird decisions they took with BL3. Also: Was there ever a lore or canonical explanation why some people, as vault hunters, could respawn basically an infinite amount of time but once they became NPCs they could be killed of super easily with no respawn???
The respawn stations are non canon
Respawning is merely a non canon gameplay mechanic
I thought it was explained somewhere that they biosignatures were removed from the new u system servers and thus they were unable to respawn

Also, "shot Sir Hammerlock in a none lethal spot"? She gut shot him! That's entirely lethal! In fact that is literally one of the slowest and most painful ways to kill someone. We know she's an expert marksman. If she was just trying to disable Sir Hammerlock, she could have shot him in his good leg or his remaining arm. She just wanted Alistair alive long enough to see her gun down his fiance.

Shooting in the leg is more lethal. You have a higher chance of hitting a major artery and yeah if that happens you'll bleed out quickly.

To me aurelia was more of an asshole character in terms of personality, not evil but not nice either. The echoes and dialogue in pre sequel show that she still care for her brother in some capacity and hammerlock felt the same in bl3 when he hoped she would stop. After her experience with jack and seeing the effect vaults could have on people I highly doubt she would shack up with the calypsos. As the same people that gave me, krieg, vaughn, tiny Tina, scooter, moxie, mr torgue, and handsome jack, I am incredibly disappointed in how they handled her character.
I like the fact she was a heartless woman but when she saw Handsome Jack literally become a bigger monster than her. She was terrified and offered her "Advice" to have him off himself. All to save the galaxy trouble of killing him later. Then, just left. Always wondered why Jack did not just kill her there. *Ponders on that* Oh well. Old news. Jack is dead. She is dead. And the universe is still a very fucked up place. All is well. Who was a Scrag Burger? Know a place that is 30% Scrag! And no Woodpulp!
You know, looking at it, they really had the perfect buildup to have Aurelia develop into a better person. BL3's Tyreen and Troy could have been a perfect mirror to her and Hammerlock, having the latter reconcile after the events of the Pre-Sequel made her realize what kind of path she was walking down, while Tyreen and Troy end up fighting each other for control over the vaults, as the Vault Hunters start making them feel like one is holding the other back.
I really didn't want her to get killed off, there is so much wasted potential there. *_It's almost as if every time they kill off a former vault hunter their deaths start to lose all impact_*

Honestly, I never played Pre-sequel, so me and my boyfriend had no idea who Aurelia was other than what BL3 as telling. After we killed her, I googled and found out she was one of the vault hunters. This video made me kind of want to play the Pre-sequel.
Do it. Some will tell you that it is a bad game, but thats just not true. It lacks the End-Game yes and compared to BL 2 it is worse, but still a solid Game with one of the best DLC there is.
IMO TPS is my favourite BL game I like that the characters are all unique and don’t follow the same siren, soldier, melee and sniper classes. And although there isn’t much of an endgame the story is still really fun along with the Claptrap DLC. You can get TPS and BL2 (with all DLC) in the handsome collection from amazon for abt £12 would recommend

Her saying how cold she was upon death infuriated me rather than made me sad because she didn't have to die if they knew how to fucking write without relying on shock value.
I hope she had a heir to her wealth and followed in her footsteps of rich boredum. I like her freezing crowed control ability for how effective it was against enemies.

Just a shame they took all of her character development from TPS, threw it to the ground, took a big juicy shit on it and then flushed it down the toilet alongside an ignited stick of dynamite. I guess what I'm trying to say is that she could've been more than, well... just another somewhat generic side-villain.

I think in general the person who decides which character gets to live and which gets to die, is a baboon and should be fired. Every great character with potential gets killed off or is simply dropped, annoying characters who are pretty much useless get to live.
Fat Man Jackson exactly who tf decided to kill a fan favourite (Maya) In order to give her powers to a new character who was designed to be annoying. And as for Aurelia a lot less people liked her but she definitely could’ve been redeemed as she wasn’t completely evil and her death didn’t even progress the story or add any character development through Alastair as he rarely spoke of her after her death

Like, seriously, I've seen Fanfictions that were better written than BL3 and thats just sad. Especially considering how much potential this game had after everything they set up in "Tales From The Borderlands" and TPS. And yes, they might actually cover that part in the next game but after seeing as how both Maya and Lilith are dead, Tina, Brick and Mordecai have been reduced to side characters, half of the VH from BL2 are either severely underused or straight up MIA and freaking Ava out of all people became the new leader of the Crimson Raiders, I honestly dont think I even _want_ to see it.

TAc Exactly in a narrative or plot deaths need to have heavy consequences whether that’s good or bad. Aurelias death only allowed the VHs to Gravewards vault which could’ve been achieved in another way. Most people never had the same connection with Aurelia as they did with Maya yet both deaths they were shit

Aurelia was such a good villain and I feel like she would have been an amazing foil for future vault hunters. The dynamic between her and her brother made for amazing writing.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Aurelia is killed off right about the same time as the BL3 story(and game proper) starts to feel rushed+incomplete. Eden6 is the last zone that felt mostly fleshed out (the prison break is where things start to get loose), then from there things start getting herky-jerky with the story+content (like the dropped setup for a split between the Twins) & likely corresponds to the behind the scenes problems & turn over that happened.

With what they did to maya and the fact that iron bear focused moze was generally just much weaker than the other moze trees when you got down to brass tacks, them killing aurelia and completely ignoring her personal morals to make her a generic villain is what made me finally put bl3 down for good.

weirdly enough you can tell even to her last breath she had no hard feelings in the moment. The way she talks. It's as if she's got no clue how to be nice. But wants to feel.. something. Maybe the nanotech just affected her that much. I mean hell her hair turned completely white.
I was disappointed that they had to kill Aurelia since I really did wanna hope that she could make amends with her brother instead they had to kill her off because…They could really could of done a lot more than that imo
I think if they really wanted to kill her that was a much more compelling way to do it. With the fact that in the Pre-Sequel she did seem to care about her brother to some extant, just couldn't express it in a healthy way due to being a cold psychotic bitch, then a better way to kill her would be to keep the situation of the bl3 questline involving her mostly the same with the same buildup until the very end with the fight between her and the vault hunter but change it just a bit so that at the end of the fight Troy can show up, and threaten to smash frozen hammerlock apart if the vault hunter doesn't give up which creates this tense truxican standoff moment where the vault hunter hesitates to act. Then, in that moment of tense standoff, Aurelia unfreezes her brother and Wainwright, attacks Troy, and quickly demands for the Vault Hunter in her typical bitchy tone to take her brother and get him to safety. The scene then cuts away with the vault hunter, Wainwright, and Hammerlock making their way outside the mansion all the while Hammerlock is freaking out a bit and is incredibly confused at whats going on. The quest continues as normal under the clear implication that Aurelia is holding off Troy with everything she has and a handful of echo transmission updates to the fight, the last of which indicate that Aurelia has lost and is dying, she attempts to vent an apology to her brother as her last words only to be interrupted by Troy finishing her off. Hammerlock is practically traumatized by the idea that his sister was wiling to die for him especially considering recent events, so he sends you on a side quest afterwards to try and figure out what was going on and you find her personal diary set of echo logs that document her finding out about the children of the vault wanting a vault key from Jakobs, and she says in the logs that she realized that they and anyone willing to help them would have been more then willing to murder her brother in the process of getting that key, and as a cold of a person she is, she couldn't bring herself to let her brother be murdered so she decides to help the children of the vault and do absolutely whatever it takes to gain their trust so that they let her handle things her way and thus make sure her brother wouldn't die. Not only would this work as fantastic development for her, but it could've been a great thing for Troy as well to see a sibling go so far for their family and ask himself "would my sister be willing to go that far for me?" but thats unfortunately not how this how thing was handled

I saw a theory that Aurelia in BL3 might've had a body double because of how rich she was, like Jack was in P-S/BL2. I honestly hope she gets more story in a Wonderlands-type game, or more lore in another Pre-Sequel game. Aurelia can be redeemed, she has "protagonist" plot armor from P-S, and I think she might be more magic than even she claimed in the Echo Log with her and Troy.

I played Aurelia, Nisha, or Timothy Lawrence on Borderlands the pre sequel.
I feel the best way to describe the likes of Aurelia Hammerlock would be "if Cruella DeVille somehow stole Elsa's ice powers and now lives to torment her brother!" I've seen some of the other comments stating how disappointed they were that she died in Borderlands 3. If you ask me, her death at the hands of a Vault Hunter, a rather natural conclusion to a beast like her, can be seen as a blessing, in more ways than one. Imagine, for instance, how she would have tried to ruin Alistair's wedding to Wainright. Trust me, Elean-whore was already doing a good job of that!

I loved playing Aurelia in the pre-sequel. Also out of Jack's vault hunters she's the one who's morally in the middle since she isn't a good person like Athena, Timothy or Claptrap nor is she a sociopath like Nisha or Wilhelm. And her ice powers are really cool (pun intended) however I always wondered where they come from. Her brother doesn't have it so it's not a family trait or at least not one inherited by males of the family and she's a full human. Perhaps some experimental genetical engineering?

I was actually heartbroken to have to kill Aurelia in Borderlands 3. While playing the Pre Sequel, she easily became my favourite character so fighting and killing her felt off.
