This is a precaution to all those persons who have no regard for people's lives. In the event of a nuclear war, it will be a lose/lose situation for all factions involved. Further, the impact of nuclear weapons usage will be worse than the immediate deaths which would occur.

iran is actively trying to avoid a hot war. after their embassy was bombed they complied to the conditions the US placed on them for retaliation, to the point iran was telling the US where, when and with what they'd strike israel, giving or 70 hours notice. immediately after stating that the whole thing was settled. it wasn't unprovoked, their embassy was bombed. that's a huge deal, no nation can afford to let that slide

I would very much prefer Saudi Arabia as the leader in the Middle East. They have shown to be loyal to their allies and they aren't crazy anti-West fanatics like Iran. I would trust Saudi much more than Iran to protect global trade as well. There's little reason to support Iran.

I do not believe that to be true. It takes a great deal of engineering to get the fissionable materials to be triggered and one does not know if it works until one is detonated in a test as performed by all of the current holders of such weapons in either open-air or underground tests. If it had one they would have used it against Israel already. However, that would result in the total annihilation of Iran after Israel retaliates. I would hope that Iranians love their children in the now more than the hereafter to prevent that from happening.

The one thing everybody forgets about the 13,000 or so nuclear devices in existence… is that literally no country in the world has anywhere near the capacity to deploy even a fraction of its arsenal. Even in the US or Russia where you could say, in a First Strike scenario, they could launch 1/10th of their stockpile just in ICBMs, and then more from strategic bombers or SCUD platforms… BUT they’d be stupid to. Assuming you could, and would have had annihilated all of your enemies in one go would be utter nonsense. My guess is, even in a full scale war the great nuclear powers would hold at bare minimum half of their readied nuclear weapons in case they were necessary to be ready prior to the initial launch. It would take a massive amount of time even for the most logistically sound militaries to rearm and re-ready their arsenals, so naturally expending them all in one go would be a fools errand.

If it were a real attack thered have been thousands of drones and missiles with exactly 0 notice and they wouldnt be telling us where theyre aiming at either
