When Taylor said "I can't see shit". I relate. The whole vid is too dark.
Haha LMAO
Ik
Yeah seems like someone didn't turn the brightness up enough. But it kind of adds to the spookiness too though because literally everything is kind of dark so you can't really see clearly so you can't really see the threat so the fear of the unknown just makes it even better. But I do agree you need to see what the monsters look like sometimes.
@@alexandrajohnson3274 It's literally a black screen over here, I can't even enjoy the video anymore.
Yep
LITTLE HOPE: A story about a man who had a tragic past of losing his family. A man struggling with himself; trying to face his inner demons. Next Time: HOUSE OF ASHES starring Ashley Tisdale from High School Musical series.
House of Ashes: a story about soldiers who were attacked by a dark force. An old deity perhaps, and they have awoken it by mistake and now they have to escape the cave.
She's also Candace Flynn-Fletcher.
Oh geeze
@@drunklord9471 there’s a exorcist connection
@@daimonatkins3046 Well, that statue at the end of the trailer is Pazuzu, though he's quite a bit different in actual Sumerian folklore than he is in The Exorcist. He was a demon king who tormented the humans, but he also protected them. Sort of a 'hey, I'm the only one allowed to bully them' kind of relationship.
The fact that the game is representing " there's still a Little Hope at your toughest time " is amazing.
Hell yes I actually rate this game number two next to until dawn, third place goes to man of medan. Little Hope just did it better than man of Medan. Plus it had it truly richer story better scares great character and creature design and an amazing ending that just is the cherry on top.
I'm like this game but this game about tragic ancident very good antony
Andrew was supposed to skip the town but him back in there gives his mind pullrd back in the beginning where he lost it all.
@@alexandrajohnson3274 All of these Anthology games are good at the very least.
Mary and Megan were both being molested by the Reverends in their churches which was the key that opened the door to all the death and destruction in Little Hope 😔
Wait really? I honestly didn’t know that were their clues?
I peeped that in the beginning, a child doesn’t just act out like that for no reason. The only person who noticed was Anthony, he never got over that.
@@riareed1269 well the mom noticed to she just didn’t know what was wrong
@@mitzyeditz8999 As far as I can tell, the only clue is when the "past" reverend tells her to keep quiet about their secret. Though she may have discovered him dabbling in witchcraft, and that was the secret. He also really wanted her as his charge for some reason.
@@johnandsoon6081 it's called grooming, and uses heavy manipulation to control the person into doing things they may not want to do. And it's not just priests who do it. Oftentimes it's a parent or family member closely related to the person. The second clue is how the Reverend says toward the very end how he was the first to fall under Mary's spell. When confonted, the molester will try to find ways to shed the blame from themselves unto their victim. Which is also why 90% of all molestation victims never speak up, and when they do, get a lot of flack for not speaking sooner.
The Dark Pictures series is really starting to be all about why its important to diagnose mental health problems
Damn ikr, both Man of Medan and this has always been all kinds of hallucination, though I don't mind really, makes it good for me.
Medan: Don't huff WW2 era chemical weapons. Hope: Don't neglect your mental health. Ashes: Don't disturb nests of alien parasites. Devil: Don't accept an invitation to an island from an obvious serial killer.

I like it more also. But I cant deny Man of Medan dialogue wasn't bad. It still felt genuine.
better than MoM but not as good as Until dawn
The saddest part is that, despite the stress and tension, Anthony did love his family and wishes that they were all still alive. Even if he did blame Meghan for the fire, I think he wished he could have saved her from Reverend Carson, which is what I think the Witch Trials are supposed to represent. Anthony probably believes that, if his family had lived, maybe they would have reconciled.
If the devs are actually thinking of making this series a full blown thing, that intro is gonna get nostalgic real quick.
"O death" is a really nice song
It's literally Dark Pictures guys
Yeah, because I can't see shit
Not often a game can pull the "it was all in your mind" AND make it meaningful, and not feel like all the tension meant nothing. Also, the fact that this man was hallucinating his ass off, and STILL managed to defeated/break some form of supernatural curse.... give this man a medal and send him after every monster 😅 lmfao
Yeah he's mvp
Just so everyone knows, actual game is a lot brighter. This particular dude just prefers to play it with his brightness down. Don't let his brightness setting be a negative aspect for you for the game, it's easily fixed if you actually buy it/watch someone else.
I see... I wonder who else play it with best desicion.
Normally, I'm not one for stories that pull the rug out at the last two seconds, but somehow this game... Actually pulled it off. I think it was the subtle hints and build up that managed it. This definitely raises my hopes for the next game in line.
Agreed. Man of Medan's twist felt like a cop-out, but this one just felt like a natural extension of the initial tragedy.

Spoiler So Andrew was Anthony all along. The other "survivors" never existed in the first place. You can consider them as representations of his family. Also, did anyone notice the fact that their names start with the same initial as the one they are representing (Ex: Anne/Angela - Dennis/Daniel)?
i was thinking like that too
But what about the monster with who Megan was talking to at the beginning ?
Camerin Mack Tanya was Taylor
Yes also there are 3 timelines here Taylor/Tanya/Tabitha Andrew/Anthony/Abraham Danial/Dennis/David (I don’t remember the rest)
Even the way they died were the same: Joseph/James: Crushed by heavy objects Amy/Anne: Asphyxiation by drowning and smoke Tabitha/Tanya: Burned David/Dennis: Impaled
John: you are all my responsibility
I honestly have to say I was not expecting that ending.
The next story follows the military in the ancient middle east, oh boy, this should scare some soldiers
HOA is awesome. saw that one first and brought me here. so good.
Losing your family is like losing your entire life. Eventually, who was lost was not the survivors but their main man.
This story gives me chills and emotions because... *Spoiler Alert* The bus driver was Anthony right? And all the things he had witnessed as Andrew was just a hallucination. This Story reminds me of "47 meters down". Its like all the thing you known has ceased its existance.
Yes. Anthony was the bus driver coping with his inner guilt and demons represented by his family.
Anthony was the bus driver the entire time and when the officer told him he had to go through little hope at the start it probably triggered some sort of PTSD from that accident that happened (house fire) so he started hallucinating his family as other people and then hallucinated the entire witchcraft story which also had his family in it as other people, he hallucinated the witchcraft story because he was reading a book about it I assume before the bus set off, you can find this book on the floor next to the crashed bus when you wake up from the house fire “dream”
@@J_dnnn ...you dont think it more likely the bus crash and likely CONCUSSION might have had something to do with that?

The ending is still mind blowing. True even though it still followed the mental side of horror like man of Medan, it was far better than man of Medan story wise, design wise, and character wise. Facing your inner demons to push past guilt and grief. There is no better message. I rate it second. First is until dawn, and third is man of Medan. Hopefully the next game has a physical supernatural threat. if they're all kind of just be psychological horror it's just following the same premise and it gets a little bit dull you know? Really though I wish they would make sequels to some of these games this needs a sequel of some sort even if it's not the same first character and until dawn needs a sequel. at first I really believed it was some reincarnation thing in the threats for real in this game but it was just all in his head which kind of blown my mind but I also think it would have been really cool if they had did The reincarnation thing it would have added something to it. But still I totally love this game it's beautiful.

So no one questioning how did Vince manage to live from that abandoned town for years by himself?
idk maybe he doesn't actually live there, maybe he just visits tanya's grave and then sulk there for some time. idk tho
Isnt the whole point that what we are seeing is inside the protags mind and its not actually reality? Is the town even abandoned? It would be easier if we could see VINCE'S viewpoint of the town, but what we see from Vince is an empty bar (which doesnt look that rundown, just empty) East County Church (which again...it doesnt look like a place that has been abandoned for years, it actually looks quite normal for a rural church...and its only abandoned in that people dont go to church at 4am...) and so on.

So I understand that the bus driver was Andrew and that he was hallucinating everything because he had a mental issue after his family dying (most of them trusting him to guide them to safety), but was the little sister Megan actually talking to a demon? Did the events during the witch trials actually take place and Andrews double stopped the reverend after murdering the little girl Mary, but the reverend maybe cursed him to forever watch the victims suffer the same fate for eternity, even through multiple lives?
the entire reverend thing was another hallucination, i think the demon at the very beginning is up to the viewer's interpretation.
I think all the occult stuff relating to the witch trials were only hallucinations caused by Anthony/Andrew's fascination with the occult. Some key details relating to Megan during the house fire that killed his family made an impression on him. He knows Megan locked Tanya out. And Megan's doll appeared near the stove, causing the fire. It was implied that Megan also caused Dennis to be stuck in the attic and Anne to be locked in the bathroom, though these could simply have been accidental and unrelated to Megan as he was not there to witness her do it. What's important about it is that Anthony suspected it was Megan and imagined an evil entity controlling her, hence the scary figure that appears behind her in the house fire scene. He then tried to make sense of his family's death through mysticism. Which is why if you check the bus at the start of the game, you find a book on the occult which must belong to him (as he was the only one there). His mind juxtaposed his family's death with the witch trials, and he came to believe Megan was being controlled by something evil or was herself evil. He coped with the guilt of causing (as he believed himself responsible) his family's death by shifting some blame onto Megan. That's why you get the best outcome by helping Mary. For Anthony/Andrew, helping Mary means letting go of his coping mechanism of blaming Megan for his family's death, unmasking his own guilt and allowing him to deal with it. He understands that Megan was not to blame for his family's death and that the circumstances around it were accidental, incidentally allowing him to understand that he wasn't to blame either.

I really like supermassive story telling, there is always a nice twist somewhere. Not pretentious like a certain frenchman and his "interactive storytelling games". Though the studios definitely need more time to polish their game though. A year a game is a bit too quick.
Telltale is better than both
so the bus driver "Anthony" was the one driving the story in 3d person perspective being "Andrew", and apparently it was all hallucinations? kind of makes sense since he was the one physically helping out the others most of the time and not the way around because normally it's not possible for a real character get *physical* help from other characters that are inexistent or from one's hallucination.
Haven't u increase the brightness in game bro
That priest sure is something. SOMETHING OF A BIG, PERVERTED LIAR. Great sinner too for lying and touching such a young child. He shouldn't be a priest.
He wanted to get the lands by getting rid of the owners, he scared the child by telling her the devil was around and then used her to kill the others, it wasn't really implied he touched her Now the one from the 70's does seem to have done something
Okay so this is silent hill version 2.0

"But we will meet again. At least one more time"... Well, I hope there will be more than one more game in the dark pictures anthology. The tone of the first two games have been quite similar...a group of confused people who can't see where they're walking because its too dark. I actually really enjoyed Man of Medan....being on a big, spooky boat.....even enjoyed the reason why all the scary stuff was happening....but I just felt Little Hope was a lot of the same, except this time felt that big, empty road and the few scant houses just made the game feel hollow. In Until Dawn: Rush of Blood you can see the different flavours of horror Supermassive Games want to explore. I really hope they can convey these very different flavours of horror in the other Dark Pictures game(s). It would be great to see one segment set in a carnival or something. To really make use of bright colours....Still with dark shadows.....but just not as dark all the time. There could be a Texas Chainsaw Massacre style one, where there is no real twist, its just all about survival. I've found that the segments of a good anthology film/game/book usually feel very different and stand out, one from the next. Here's hoping the House of Ashes story is a little stronger, with a more detailed, immersive world.
I do wonder what would happen if you fail the heartbeat sequence (especially in the beginning)
I played the game myself too and while it wasn't bad, the best ending is one of those stereotypes in horror games which I really don't like because they're lazy solutions... It also felt terribly rushed to the point where no one really felt saved and neither did it feel like he actually dealt with his demons or guilt. Compared to Until Dawn in particular, Little Hope barely gives you time to immerse yourself in the horror because the scenes transition a bit too swiftly and sometimes the cuts feel unrealistic and hard to follow. At one point a character is lying on the ground and suddenly they're running again, or suddenly they're on the ground for no apparent reason, John jumped so quickly over the railing or fence or what it was that I didn't even see him take off before, and everything happens way too fast that the scenes don't even leave you any time to get remotely apprehensive or scared. The suspense is mostly created by having to be fast for the QTEs, not because the situation itself is suspenseful. Another aspect is that the creatures mostly don't feel remotely threatening. Most were depicted as so slow in their movements that even I could have run from them. Yeah, they appear out of nowhere at times but once they do show up they don't even trudge along at walking speed. The actual threats are the surroundings which could make the characters trip but apart from that... If it's compared to the Wendigos from Until Dawn who were not only a real threat but also pretty fast and reacted to sounds, they just seem almost laughable. I mean, sure the ones in Little Hope are threatening and look unsettling but anyone with a weapon would be this close to you. But once they are a few feet away, it basically feels like running from a toddler... It's why those scenes don't really have a lot of immersion since they're over so quickly and mostly follow the same cycle of seeing them appear out of nowhere, punching/shooting/kicking them if they do manage to grab someone or come close and then running for a minute or so while overcoming obstacles. Then it feels safe for a while as you uncover more things and then there's another short enemy section. The scenes would be more unsettling if they took longer and give the player some time to get immersed. The frequent shifts between characters standing close to each other don't really help there either since it gives me a breather in a situation where I don't need one. The dialogues are better than in Man of Medan but still not as good as in Until Dawn. They feel pretty chopped apart in some instances where they talk about something, you make a choice and suddenly they're talking about something unrelated. The transition isn't as smooth as it could be. I realize it's sometimes hard due to providing choices but if they're used, they should take their time with dialogues. It's not a bad game, not at all, but I believe it would have been much better if they had taken a little more time to polish it. It's hardly a surprise with how swiftly it was published after Man of Medan and for that it's still a really good game but the quality did suffer tremendously. The plot wasn't all that great either since the connection to the witch trials turned out to be more of a red herring than anything else. It did serve a purpose but it had much more potential than they decided to go with in the end. The ending in general was just incredibly rushed. Suddenly, everything got resolved and while the hints were there, it doesn't explain certain questions at all. The whole time it makes one think "something big will happen" but in my opinion it just doesn't happen. It probably fits the ending since unlike in Until Dawn, the threat isn't all that real. It isn't caused by anything terribly supernatural either. Perhaps that's where my disappointment lies. The cause of it all is very underwhelming. I just prefer stories where something actually exists in the game's universe, even if it draws from the protagonist's mind. Especially in Until Dawn there was a very interesting string of story elements beginning to intertwine until they became completely interwoven. The player was confronted with a morbid but eventually man-made scheme but it all went much deeper in the end, beyond anything planned or important for the characters. It wasn't just about a single person and event anymore, confronting inner demons and feelings of the past, but branched out into plain survival. I personally don't enjoy games which turn out to be happening just inside a person's mind. There are some games where it works out like Cry of Fear, but most of the time it feels lazy and I have a hard time of... sympathizing with it perhaps. Not because I don't understand the severity but rather that the threat of it all becomes non-existent since they're limited to a single person that's not the player. For example, Silent Hill also deals with a person's guilt and sins so to speak but in a way that they're not the ones imagining everything. The town itself draws it forth by confronting the person with their deeds, their emotions, and so on. In this case it wasn't the town itself, albeit showing similarities to Silent Hill in certain aspects. Though what has to be said in a positive way about the game is that its best ending is indeed a final one. It does feel like an end for the protagonist and the story as a whole since it ceases to exist with the person's development. Unlike some horror movies where you get a glimpse of it not being over, this particular story is indeed finished. Even when more games are to follow.
I appreciate this so much. Thanks for sharing your well-written thoughts.
The developers have said over and over again that this series is not going to be like Until Dawn. It's on a much smaller scale and people tend to forget that they were backed by Sony for Until Dawn so they had Sony resources and money which they don't have now. The games are very different it's literally like comparing the Uncharted series to The Last Of Us series. So until the get backed again by another company you're not gonna get Until Dawn 2.0 so please stop comparing the two, it's unfair to the developers.
@@carrela1000 I'm not comparing them on terms of scale but storytelling. Considering even small studios can do that accordingly and it's not necessarily a matter of budget, my argument still stands. Not to mention there is absolutely no necessity to bring out a game this quickly after Man of Medan. The developers can try to make excuses all they want in that regard, they can't tell me they absolutely couldn't take a bit longer to polish it, make the scene transition a little bit smoother, resolve the story by giving it a more suitable progression, and so on. I think you misunderstood my comment. I am not comparing it to other games in terms of length or visual quality. I am comparing them based on the horror devices they use, the progression of dialogues and the transition of scenes. And in that regard your opinion might differ, I am not arguing against that nor attempt to discredit your opinion, but my arguments are all about matters which could have been addressed even without the backing of Sony. I didn't say the length nor visual quality bothered me. All things considered it is done well. But you've either not read my comment thoroughly or deduced from it something I did not mean to imply. Most of my criticism and comparisons toward Until Dawn are based on the establishment of suspense and how it is delivered. Even low-budget games can offer a more intricate plot than what was eventually delivered. I've seen it in countless indie games so far that a narrative does not need to suffer unless they're rushing the game. And quite frankly, that seems to be the case here. Man of Medan was released in August last year. It is not common for games of a franchise to be released a little over a year after the last game. Except for Pokémon perhaps but we all know they're more or less rehashing the same thing despite the backing of a major company. Another factor is that the backing of Sony certainly won't affect the quality of dialogues. That's a matter of the person writing them, not a matter of money. Certainly, having the backing of a major company provides more time, but I still believe a game does not need to be rushed if something suffers that much. I've also said that for the time they managed to develop Little Hope in, it's still pretty good. But the creatures still don't feel remotely threatening to me. It's a subjective opinion of course and others might disagree. They can since fear and suspense are a personal experience. But Little Hope was a nice game with great visuals but unfortunately a weak plot and enemy design. That's something no one can necessarily attribute to the lack of Sony's support. If their support means they can't write proper dialogues without them nor create a lot of suspense anymore due to rushing the scenes, then that's a flaw of the studio. A few jumpscares and some background sounds after a short enemy encounter don't really cut it for me as a horror game. A studio saying they can't make another game on the scale of Until Dawn without proper backing is fine. I'm not criticizing the scale of it. But it cannot be turned into an excuse for every flaw this game has and neither am I willing to ignore them. It would be one thing if I compared it to Until Dawn in terms of length or visual quality. But a proper dialogue and plot isn't a matter of support but creativity. Criticism needs to be allowed and Until Dawn is merely a means of comparison in regard to plot, dialogue and suspense since it was also made by them. I am well aware that a game that's been made within a little more than a year can't be as vast as a game that has financial backing and likely more time too. But the devices used to create horror and suspense can be compared as well as overall plot and the quality of narration, even if said narration is shorter. The transition of scenes being awkward is also not a matter of lacking backing but simply of trying too much within too short of a time. Unless they are in serious financial peril, there's no reason to rush the game. Not every comparison is made with the amount of money invested in mind. While a lot of criticism is absolutely a matter of my own subjective experience, some of it are matters of objectively visible things. It might not necessarily be a bother to some, yet its existence can't be denied nor defended by Sony jumping ship. Not every comparison or criticism is done with ill-intent or supposing they had the same means. I'm neither saying it should have been Until Dawn 2.0. I'm only saying that I know they can do better in terms of narrative and creating suspense. Those are not always a matter of financial backing.

This is hurting my eyes tryna see what's on the screen. I like the story but I have to close my eyes and imagine what I'm looking at lol.
is a small detail but when the protagonist start to fight you hear one voice, that shows how is anthony having split personality
Daniel looks and sounds like Ben Shapiro
Ew no he doesn’t lol. Ben’s voice is all nasally and he has trouble slowing himself down when he speaks.
I thought I was the only one who noticed that LOL
1:20:45 2:49:04 Over there
That ending made me depressed as fuck
I was absolutely not expecting that ending! Wow!
That cop at the end looks like Cole Phelps of L.A. Noire.
So what’s this story game all about? Was that child was curse by devil or the priest evil man who summon the devils? After crush, What happen to bus driver and other 5 survivors or was this a dream or nightmare?
You watched the whole thing right? You should have already made a conclusion which is the devil and which is not. And of course, who that bus driver was.
The "other survivors" never existed in the first place. The buss driver was Andrew in the story. He was young because that's how old he was when he lost his family to a fire. He made all the story up in his head to try and deal with his past. The only real parts of the story were the interactions with the other dude in the bar. He really just walked from the buss through town to his old house. Delt with his demons then walked to the diner.
In the early century the priest wanted to get the lands by getting rid of the owners, he scared the child by telling her the devil was around and then used her to kill the others (and then her) Anthony was obsessed with that story as shown at the beginning he has some books about the witch trials, his whole family dies in the fire and he feels guilty for not saving them, then as an adult he comes back with ptsd, trying to make peace with his family by trying to solve the witch hunt mistery that obsessed him as a kid
@@officialflikz Now it sort of makes sense, thanks.
it took way too long to get going but it did finally and was pretty decent.

Spoiler? maybe? of this game and the previous one... maybe the thing I like is how they tied it back into "our reality" so to speak, unlike the other 2 games heck all I can remember of the 2nd is them going somewhere they shouldn't and a cursed ship that gives me a headache when I try to think about (might be something to do with time or something)...
I can definitely see people playing this game in the middle of Halloween 😂😂😂😂
okay so Man Of Medan then Little Hope then House Of Ashes got it
And Until Dawn, first.
I wonder how every players on earth play this game when everything is dark and cant see sh*t even with the full brightness
I am confuse when they review one of the postcard, there is a girl falling off from the cliff when she tried to climb on it. Who is she ? Anyone? Nvm I know who is she already next game...
She is part of the next game
It was Ashley Tisdale
The Dark Pictures games always feels like rushed, cut, not complete but passionate. Animation transitions and dialogs as a whole feels weird. Like a monster chasing Daniel but when he is about to make a choice his face is all calm. Things like that bothers me but I enjoy anyways.
you guys are getting hope? - Kenny
My Vince you took a shot at ME your Vince hero mode activated “I’ll go get help”
At the end, denzel washington
*Random thought: When the bus in the beginning backed up, there was no "beep, beep, beep"*
Guys, its supposed to be dark and watch it at night or sth;;
Had to watch this walk through, other you tuber's keep on messing up and choking in either their decision making or in their reaction time in the mini-games
now I don't get to see youtubers kill a few characters
The ending shocked me.....
so the Bus Driver was Anthony and the characters, demons, and the dark advendure was all in his head,Anthony was driven mad by guilt because he couldn't save his Family and was seeking forgivness, good ending!!!!
