  • I was lucky enough to be in the arena for the grand final. The crowd reaction was absolutely wild. Everyone was behind him to win. He won the crowd vote by miles. Absolutely one of the most iconic songs from Eurovision ever. I cannot describe to you how much the crowd was loving him and supporting him. There were points where the presenters of the show couldn’t actually be heard as the crowd was chanting cha cha cha.

  • The key difference between American Idol and Eurovision is American Idol is a singing competition (only about vocals) while Eurovision is a song competition (about composition, lyrics, vocals, stage performance etc.).

      @Datenmeer@Datenmeer7 ай бұрын
    • Well another big difference is that the performers in the Eurovision Song Contest are usually rather professional and can be very established artists before entering the contest. American Idol would never allow for an artist with a previous long-time successful career entering their competition.

  • Hands down, the best North American reaction to Finland's entry this year! So enthusiastic from the get-go and you seem genuinely curious to see more. Many people in America and Canada seem to react with, "eew, this is weird" to Käärijä initially, but this is among the performances that make Eurovision so enjoyable - the contest is a veritable cornucopia of assorted oddities. It can be wacky (Käärijä), impressive (Loreen) and sometimes downright moving (Barbara Pravi), but it's always a good time!

Someone calculated that even if he got 1st place in every voting country he'd still be like 2 points short of winning bc of the jury. If that isn't a rigged system then I don't know what is. He got more votes than anyone in the history of the contest and still didn't win...

  • Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮 Käärijä has been a huge fenomenon here since this song was originally released. I remember back in February I was at a club when this came and the whole club just exploded, everyone went just crazy! The song is about how he feels like he is a tough guy but actually would like to dance but is afraid because he is a badass. Then he drinks few pina coladas and out comes this new persona who doesn’t care what others think, he pours shampagne all over himself and dances his ass off. Käärijä has given so much joy to us this year and I hope he continues to find his way to many more people around the world. You should check out the original music video for Cha Cha Cha, it’s also amazing!

  • This song really connected with the Finnish people. Cha Cha Cha won Finland's national selection competition for Eurovision, called UMK, all the way back on February 25, 2023 and placed 1nd at Eurovision 2023 in May. Now it's halfway through September and Cha Cha Cha is still in the Top 20 in daily Spotify plays in Finland. The song speaks to the feeling of having a long, rough day/week and going to a bar to drink away the tough times. There's a common understanding amongst the Finnish people that they can be pretty reserved and many don't want to be the centre of attention unnecessarily. But after a few drinks, they can really let loose. At the midway point of the song, Käärijä is deciding whether to just go home in sadness or to listen to the voice inside him that tells him to throw caution to the wind, not care about what people think, and just have a blast dancing away. Needless to say, he lets loose and enjoys the moment being authentic to what he wants to do, rather than remaining in his shell and going home not taking advantage of the moment to enjoy life.

  • Your faces and expressions were exactly mine when I first heard this song in the run-up to Finland's selection. First few notes and I was instantly on board, and every succeeding moment surpassed the one before it. Just epitomizes everything Eurovision can and should be, and I'm honestly bummed it didn't win the whole thing (especially since the final was on my birthday, and I was watching with a group of Finns who also were hoping for a win). Oh well. Cheers from NYC! 4:34 LOL one of the videos that pops up immediately completes the sentence - "IT'S CRAZY, IT'S PARTY!"

He's my Winner 100% , I don't care what the judges think. I was in Liverpool for the event, I heard people singing the song so many times, people were talking about him, and the crowd in the arena went crazy for him , it was very clear who the people wanted to win.

This was the reason I bet Käärijä to win and wished judges to give some good points, but they failed so bad! People loved.. judges wanted Loreen to win. Käärijä was still the winner!
