  • The fact that Federer was capable of honest self-reflection after this kind of behavior lends insight into his ability to also reflect and modify his game. Talent + the ability to reflect = full potential

  • I watched this match broadcast live. It's true though Roger was a hothead back then. As a kid he had temper tantrums on court. Throwing & kicking his racquets in disgust because he didn't make the shot often crying in frustration. Even then Roger wanted his shotmaking to be perfect. This battle with his impatience was so frowned upon & disapproved by his parents. We still see this facet of Roger. We still see him cry though for a different outcome. I recall this game with fondness because l'm a big Marat Safin fan & because he is another hothead l was enjoying the racquet antics as much as the tennis. Dear Wivo thank you for this video. I wish you would narrate more. ❤

  • Roger was always highly emotional and quick tempered. Only he could do the hard changes before too late. Then he became almost stoic. Incredible presence of mind.

  • Wow!!! I guess Djokovic fans are very disappointed. Came to see Federer “smashing” rackets and criticize him… “Djoke” is on you. Federer is an amateur next to Nole. And still won the match. So classy.😂😂😂😂

  • I suppose after this day is when he began using the Wilson wand? I never wanted to try to play with an RF racket. Hard for me to believe this is really RF. All these years I thought he might be an alien species. Too many of those shots he hit were paranormal. And they said his slice was clocked at 7200 rpm. The heaviest spin ever recorded in the ATP.
