Sorry for the long wait, hope this was worth it! (for anyone confused, this is attempt no.2 of uploading this, first one had some rendering issues).
You know the game was based on Skyrim when it literally has a Stealth Archer section.
With this and your video on Vigilant, I really hope you cover more mods.
The most fantasy thing of the whole setting is the modern Tiber not being a yellowish sludge with floating rats in it! Ps, video's amazing, binging on your channel AND fudgemuppet, Wich you suggested, cheers, man!
Honestly, I dig the ending. Although I could do without showing us the "gods", maybe disembodied voices would've worked better, but nevertheless, the end where everyone cheers for you is great. It was never about sacrifice, but about self-discovery of us as a society, so saving everyone in the end doesn't feel out of the left field. Subbing after this and Vigilant video. Shout out to PatricianTV's discored and his submissions channel. Wouldn't have found you without them.
Played the mod when it came out, and the game when that came out. Couldn't shake the feeling that I belong to a (probably) very small but very dedicated community that can appreciate the thing in full scale and the way it deserves. 9 out of 10, now that's an unbelievable rating for a game made by a small group like that. 10/10 if it was more optimized to run smoothly
I played Skyrim modded for years, heard bits and piece about this mod, then found the Forgotten City game. I thought it looked cool, played it and enjoyed it, then weeks later found the Skyrim mod, randomly decided to check it out without realizing the name, played for an hour, felt like I somehow played it before but it was off. Did my usually Skyrim routine of managing to cause some unforeseen problem in the game, switching games and then forgetting Skyrim for months before binging it for 2 weeks straight. Until this video I literally didn’t know these were the same thing, and in hindsight I feel so cosmically stupid for not realize a game called “The Forgotten City” from 2021 was an adaptation of mod called “The Forgotten City” in 2015 lmao, great vid Cotho!
I suspected the "Dude...Aliens" twist so it didn't come completely out of left field when I played the game. Knowing how the Skyrim mod plays out helped quite a bit, I would say. Getting to chat with Charon/Karen after learning the truth was a fun little interaction. I like how her eyes get all spooky when she drops the act. I also got the achievement for saving everyone and it was a real treat getting to talk to everyone and learn how they adapted to being dropped off 2000 years into the future. That merchant prick became a Wallstreet Bro and asks you for investment advice and all three suggestions you can give him are hilarious. Also, there's a side quest where you can help Galerius hook up with Equitia. It's cute.
Can you do a story overview for Skyrim Maid's mod? That mod mentioned a lot of the Kirkbride's Aedra/Daedra/the Void deep lore which went over my head, plus there was a massive gap between part 2 and Part 3, which resulted in me forgettting a lot of the story hints and foreshadowing to part 3
I will have to have another look at it (I played it a long time ago).
that sargon voice clip should be preceded by a content warning
Great video, I really enjoy your reviews on underrated mods and games that haven't received comprehensive analysis videos about them. Looking forward to more of your videos!
Oh so you are Greek? I've been in love with your accent and was wondering where are you from. Subbed recently btw. Really like the content.
“Two thousand years? That is…unfathomable. Wait…why are we speaking English?”
It's explained. When you went through the portal, your brain downloaded the "fluent latin" addon. Everyone you talk to is speaking latin and they hear you speaking latin as well. But you hear them speaking English. There's also graffiti around the city written in latin but you can read it in English
Between this, Beyond Reach, and Vigilant, I'm subscribing! I am curious, do you have any mods in mind to talk about? Not recommending or requesting. Just curious. Obviously not referring to Glenmorill or Unslaad since they aren't done yet. More like Cowl of Nocturnal.
The current mods I am working on are Legacy of the dragonborn and Moonpath to elsweyr together, after that is wheels of lull (you can find more updates in the community posts where we made a poll for which one goes first).
I don't think ill ever use the mod but I loved playing this game
Great... so he's a Goa'uld. X_X
Hey could you please check out the mod Death Comsumes All by Anbeegod? I'd really like to hear your thoughts on that mod.
