Moore said it was time to move on from Bond when he learnt his ‘love interest’ was scarcely older than his granddaughter...
I would say that was probably a good call on his part.
I would say that was the wise move.
He also said he quit when he found out he was older than Tanya Roberts mother
Moore should have quit after FYEO. His last two movies were embarrassing
@@007ndc agreed
Timothy Dalton is an underrated Bond
He was definitely. And was ahead of its time too. But now more and more people understand and like him, so he's entering properly rated territory.
He's the bond from the book.
If you ask me my favorite to least favorite Bond and the best to worst Bond, those are two wildly different lists... but #2 on both of them is Dalton.
My favorite Bond actually.
Timothy Dalton walked so Daniel Craig could run.
We should have an Honest Trailer for Every James Bond movie!
Maybe before our first movie with the new casting
Hmmmmmm….weird…
100%!
That's a lot of trailers...
Excellent pfp
Darby O'Gill fans representing! And Sean Connery SINGS in it! Rocketeer fans too! There is life after Bond.
Connery also had a brief part in The Longest Day. The movie about D-Day that was so big even John Wayne and Robert Mitchum were just bit players.
I always liked Timothy Daltons Bond. Those two movies are great.
Well, considering the quality of your taste, you must also be a lover of licorice lasagna, right? 🤨
@@davyjonesjonesdavy That joke fell flatter than roadkill

Good to know, @@Artesian_mirage. Please, keep me updated about your tastes about the jokes because here it seems to have collected a nice group of connoisseurs of roadkills.
Pierce Bronson was underated, but he was an amazing Bond
~ 2nd Best Bond , of course after sean Connery ~❤❤❤~
For James Bond fans, it's understandable that we all have our favourite Bond; suave, debonair, witty, humorous, innuendos, gadgetry, dangerous, physical, etc. Thank you producers, for all these decades of entertainment and flights of fantasy 🤣😂
Diana Rigg was the best Bond Girl hands down. She was his equal without going over the top and was true soul mate. Her death and Bond's reaction to it at the end of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" is one of the saddest moments in film history.
Diana Rigg was my favorite Bond girl... until I saw Eva Green in "Casino Royale."
And Luciana Paluzzi is the best bad Bond Girl. Fiona Volpe was his evil equal, both professionals who love their job and believe fully in their cause.
Grace Jones?
@@Fordo007 --- Luciana Paluzzi über alles.
It gets me every time
Now I want to do a James Bond movie marathon!
Pierce Brosnan was introduced to the Bond franchise when his then wife was a Bond Girl in For Your Eyes Only. She was the countess who was run over on the beach. She unfortunately passed away in real life later on.
Why didn't they get her some medical attention?
@@GuapoJhimi 😅😅 i dont think she got run over in _REAL LIFE._
"I don't know any doctor jokes." Delivered with a straight face! Pierce Brosnan has a will of Adamant. Also the only Bond who's wife arguably was a Bond girl. (Cassandra Harris For Your Eyes Only)
For me Brosnan is the ultimate Bond. He is just everything you want from Bond, gentleman and killer in one .
Agreed 100%.
Except that all the movies with him with the exception of GoldenEye are absolute garbage. It's not his fault, but the movies are the worst of the worst in Bond films.
@@jeuryrabassa4724 Not to mention, Connery wasn't in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (that was George Lazenby) - and Never Say Never Again is only half a Bond film (it is a Bod film, but it was made outside the normal studio and is missing some of the typical things - it's kind of a pseudo 007 in a way!)
I loved him in Remington Steele.
@@jeuryrabassa4724 What's wrong with you - Her Majesty's Secret Service was Roger Moore and Never Say Never Again was not really part of The "Bond" Franchise.
Didn’t know why but Spencer’s voice was perfect for this.
Oh my goodness... Yeeeeessss 🤭
Amazing he did the whole video on one breath
Timothy Dalton was an amazing James Bond. Brilliant actor who brought real grit and gravitas to the role 👏
I never liked his Bond but he was great in many movies
Yes, some much needed gravitas. If it weren't for him James Bond would've fallen short of all the action spies right around the corner, Ethan Hunt, Jason Bourne, etc. The Living Daylights hurled the Bond films right into high octane action in Afghanistan. These were no longer adventure films, they were now action thrillers.
He handled the Bond character very well. He's got talent
yeah, I still remeber that movie. Totally agree
Facts
Ok, where are my fellow Darby O'Gill and the Little People stans?? Never thought I'd hear that movie title in a Fandom video.
I love that movie!! The only time Connery sang on film.
"Oh, she is my dear my darlin' one..."
Darby O'Gill and the Little People is the best!
Great narration job Spenny. This is a series I like a fair amount, but there is a but.
Well done.. Compact exciting and informative!! ohh and excellently edited!
Good trip down memory lane.. much quicker than a series rewatch
Dr. Christmas Jones radiates my heart ❤️
Ugh!
I so dig this video!!! It's so much fun! I want to have a marathon now!
Roger Moore is my fave by far..I grew up watching him and absolutely love his films.A view to a kill is my fave I saw it in the theatre and graduated that year.
I consider Connery and Craig most similar in their “blunt instrument” portrayal. Moore and Brosnan had their touch of “class”.
This is really good and it gives Dalton the credit he deserves. This is good walkthrough.
Finally!😄
Sleep/Walkthrough would be more accurate. This shows how hackneyed and full of clichés are done by the review, rather than the material being reviewed. His treatment of any of the aspects of a bond film is superficial and boring. There are hundreds of reviews of Ian Fleming, James Bond, and the only James Bond who is of course Sean Connery. therefore look elsewhere.
Solid video, really liked the Format 👍
Fantastic work. All actors who have played bond have all done brilliantly in their unique portrayals. Pierce Bronson and Daniel Craig brought nuance to bond like many before them while also being respectful and bringing new life for what Sean Connery started. James Bond is iconic and will continue to be around due to popularity and engaging storytelling given the right person who is both a fan and is dedicated and eager to bring in both new and old audience with their own version.
Timothy Dalton
GoldenEye is one of my favorites, but Connery and George Lazenby are my favorite Bonds
Unless Bond goes woke , then i'm out .
Pierce Brosnan is one of my favorite James Bond.
I agree but they did not mention Roger Lazenby, who played 007 in "Her Majesty's secret service." I read that he was difficult to work with but even if that was true I still think he deserved a mention.
The only secret agent to tell everyone his name
The role was created for Roger Moore. He was however already contracted to play the , Saint and not allowed to play a spy type character for competitors. Moore was actually a commando, and MI captain who's Real life story wD reminiscent of the Bond character.
... to play *The *Saint / an MI captain whose* (who's = who is) real* life story was* reminiscent ...
The edit of Blofeld at the very end was perfect
Not EON production too, and not really a film, but the first portrayal of Bond (american agent Jimmy Bond though, and Felix Leiter was british, and Vesper was combined with Mathis in a single female character, but otherwise pretty faithful to the book) was by Barry Nelson in Casino Royale (1954).
Came to the comments to see if anyone would mention this.
Excelent! The best summation of the Bonds I've seen, giving proper respect to all.
The only Bond who flickered smile was Roger More who won the hearts of the people. Wonderful presentation. Thanks. Subscribed. ❤
What's a good Bond movie? When the movie is playing, go to the next room and see how it sounds. Listen to the dialog, the music, the action and see how everything feels to your ears. If it passes this test, then its a good Bond movie.
9:12 Timothy Dalton's eyes and jawline are smokin' 🔥
Whatever.
Bond gadgets make Batman jealous.
wow this is the best Bond video ever made! Well Done...
Well put together. A good 007 summary.
Great job 🙌🏻
The Blitzerverse!!! AAAAARRRGGGHHH!!! Thank you. Great video. Thumb up.
The CNN Breaking News Cinematic Universe, Anderson Cooper is in Superman v. Batman. What other movies is in this universe?
What a fun watch. Thanks.
I LOVE James Bond! And I will for ever! 😉😉✌✌
I never knew Diana Rigg was Lady Tyrell! She was badass in both!
Pierce Brosnan is my favorite James Bond so far.
They are the only two bonds that have been captured and tortured, all the other bonds were like super heroes!
@@CarlosRamos-LATIN-JAZZ the other being Daniel Craig?

I just loved Darby O'Gill & The Little People!! Good research job!
I love James Bond everything and everyone I'm one of the biggest fans ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I loved and love the old Bond movies. I first struggled with Daniel Craig a lot, but started to appreciate this era with every movie more and more. They are different and great, too. You have the whole spect...rum....
😑
Not feeling Daniel Craig 😢 I don't watch James bond anymore
@@veniceferguson4760 totally agree, Venice. Daniel Craig is the worst Bond ever. He has destroyed the whole franchise. Awful, awful casting right from his first outing. Let's face it, they all stink.
@@stuartsharman3055Respectfully disagreed in everything you said 😊
@@stuartsharman3055why?
Totally amazing
Great vid, glad it came across my feed.
"with linear continuity"... it only counts when it was planned beforehand. The Quantum (which was the modern Spectre analogue) storyline was supposed to be a trilogy but apparently ended at QoS, after killing two losers in a desert. Skyfall was amazing and actually gave us some unique introductions (Moneypenny, Q, Mallory) and farewells (M and the DB5), but was a standalone. In Spectre, they pretend unconvincingly that Blofeld and Spectre were over-arching everything that happened in the first 3 movies. Bond actually blows up Spectre and captures his leader in the 4th film, but the invisible organisation still exists in the 5th movie, implying to be a threat, until they are all killed in a few seconds by a underwhelming villain, who ironically loses its main goal halfway through film, until at the very end of the film he suddenly has a new plan. Absolutely nothing was planned for continuity, except for (1) QoS being a sequel to Casino Royale and (2) some characters that are borrowed from previous films (but that also happened in the older movies).
This video is great, but "Blitzerverse" 🤣😂🤣 ... was AWESOME
Timothy Dalton is underrated and underestimated
1:00 excuse me he plays flanigan in "the longest day" he then flew out and filmed "dr no" right after they wrapped.
Actor Barry Nelson was technically the very first James Bond! He had acted in a two part TV serial of Ian Fleming's 'Casino Royale' long before Sean Connery had uttered 'The name's Bond. James Bond' in 'Dr No'!
Bob Holness (famous in the UK for hosting a quiz show called Blockbusters) was the second actor to portray James Bond, starring in a 1957 South African radio dramatization of 'Moonraker'.
Bb
That was Jimmy Bond lol
Thank you! A nod to Nelson and Bob Simmons would be nice, since they were before Connery.
Still love James Bond
That Aston Martin was an amazing car
So Dalton tried out for Bond after Connery but was beat out by Moore. Then Brosnan tried out for Bond after Moore but was beat out by Dalton. Henry Cavill tried out for Bond after Brosnan but was beat out by Craig. So Cavill for the next Bond?
Most interesting comment here.
Brosnan actually got the spot but couldn’t get out of his remington steele contract so they went with dalton
You're onto something
he turned it down after Connery, and again around For Your Eyes Only
I certainly Hope SO ....... Amen 😇
In skyfall, M is the Bond girl. Makes the film. Also watch Hell Drivers for some excellent pre bond Connery, a film with Herbert Lom, Stanley baker, Patrick mcGoohan , sid james, david mccallum, gordon Jackson and a doctor who in the cast.
sounds like fun... I'll have to check that out.
“The Blitzer-verse” - great. 😂
That was great. Thanks very much
i love brenda starr!! dalton with an eyepatch? yes please!
Also Also - Pierce Bronsnan wasn't allowed to do Bond by the Remington Steele producer and costar.
Not too familiar with the 3p so learned a lot from this video. Thanks for sharing tSC. Cheers ✌🏻😊
James Bond is Sean Connery. Rest are actors playing the role of Sean Connery A.k.a. James Bond. Secondly Jeremy Brent is Sherlock Holmes.
Brosnan is my favorite Bond, but that maybe because he is the bond from the 90s
NoOne, I was brought up in the 70s and he's my favorite too
The next James Bond in both books and films will be the first time he will work for King and country
We're MISSING One Bond!
Dang it! Now I want to binge these movies again!
You didn't cover the little side note of how Connery came back after a 12 year hiatus to play Bond in a non-Eon produced movie, which was also towards the end of Roger Moore's stint (Moore had already been in 5 Bond movies when Connery did his final Bond movie in 1983).
Never Say Never. Amazing soundtrack too.
Pierce Brosnan; it doesn't matter whether his Bond movies were excellent, middle of the road or a razzie. He was a splendid Bond actor! And better than Daniel Craig.
Shaun Steele, The best....I have Craig 5th
They’re all better than Craig (except maybe that chap who nobody ever remembers) and it wasn’t that he played the part bad, it was more a bad film(he didn’t have much to work with)
Great vid, subbed!
Fantastic work by you Sir. You must have a PhD in the Bond-ism! Because, a already feel like a certificate holder just watching you video! 😂😂😂 Great to see so many people admire your live for a character!
Dalton's bond seems to be the perfect blend of the versions that came before and after him imo.
He was so good but underappreciated at the time
He is my fav.
Couldn't stand him. Looked like he thought he was in a stage play. He was awesome in Flash Gordon where the camp worked to his advantage.
Not for me
The Bond movie that surprised me the most was On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and if you seen it you know why =) George Lazenby did a good job too.
It's a favourite of Christopher Nolan
the blitzer-verse i love it lol
This was excellent.
My favorite Bond movies have either Sean Connery or Danial Craig... (Timothy Dalton was pretty good also)
My favorite Bond: Don Adams!
Now that would be interesting. Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt vs Daniel Craig's James Bond. Now that would be something to see.
I think Hunt is a little more reliant on teamwork than Bond is, even though his skill set seems infinitely more diverse.
Indeed.
I read where the producers had originally intended to make OHMSS in 1969 an Avengers of Spies, with all the famous secret agents from The Man From UNCLE, The Avengers and Mission: Impossible uniting with 007 to take on Blofeld and SPECTRE. Glad the idea was 86'd.
@@MrEab2010 60+ year old agent 🤣
What about a teamup against spectre and smersh?
Awesome ❤❤❤
Pls tell them Continue Bond Movies Don't Stop.
fabuloso!!!!!
The Dalton movies are two of my favorites. If you’ve bought into the idea they are bad and have never watched them, you will be pleasantly surprised if you give them a try. Especially the second one.
I've seen them each more than once. Don't care much for them but not his fault. the storylines just don't appeal to me.
@@kevinfan726 Dalton was way too serious for me and could not do cool
Evongelo, Not for me
The second one is awesome. I loved the scene where bond avoids a rocket while driving a semi truck
I love his films and they're both my most favorites (LTK being my #1 and TLD being my #2) But i understand they're not for everyone.
Nice job! Very well thought out. Fun to watch.
Great analysis!!
" . . . I love the ground she walks upon . . . my pretty Irish girl!" -S Connery
Missing from the sequence of Bonds at the beginning was George Lazenby. Admittedly he only did one movie but it /was/ an official one.
Well done.
Craig is not Bond he never was Bond. He destroyed this iconic character beyond repair...
Sean Connery made James Bond iconic in Dr. No but he wasn't the first actor to portray 007 onscreen; that honor goes to American actor Barry Nelson.
#1 Sean, Pierce and Roger in That Order.
what about the other two? and are all number 1?
Sean, Daniel, and Timothy for me.
James Bond is Amazing
James Bond is a character in an Agatha Christie novel. I thought it was commonly known, so I didn't note which one. (I read them all a few summers ago) I beleive it was one of the few with the husband and wife team.
I am a Sean Connery fan. He is the man, a great Scot. Casino Royale was a very good comedy. Time for a new James Bond, with Sean's spirit and roots to expose more of the tech baron oligarchs smashing so much.
Thanks so much for the movie, y'all! Brosnan and Craig are definitely my favorites! Goldeneye will always have a place in my heart, and Goldeneye64 definitely had a big part to play in that. :P
Not impressed with Craig. But you do you.
My favorites are Connery,Moore,Darton,Brosnan and Craig. And Casino Royale is my favorite Bond movie (And it's also my very first Bond movie).
Craig has ZERO appeal to me.
@@davestang5454 Me neither
crimsonraen, I get Brosnan 100% but not Craig
Daltons casting in "Brenda Starr" was perfect.
Seldom mentioned but Lois Chiles (Holly Goodhead 😂 in Moonraker) was beautiful too!
License To Kill is also the only Bond movie to receive a 15 (roughly equivalent to a US R) rating in the UK.
It is partly due to they changing the title of the movie. It was originally going to be called Licence Revoked, but during the advertising for it, the name was changed.
@@oyvi00i Because they thought Americans wouldn't get it.
you see the db5 in mission impossible rogue nation, in which the palace they go to if you look around the parking lot, you can spot a asthin martin db5, so that means either bond was on a mission there, the palace in which the opera was playing, or was taking a break a little vacay. Wonderfully written, and said, well done gilbert who looks like dominic greene a little bit, but the craig films didnt find its own identity and the films were all over the place.
CAN NOT STAND CRAIG. I don't find him attractive, sexy, capable of any quip nor likable. So very happy he is gone! 007 movies are awesome and my favorite of all films. I surely do not understand what Barbara finds sexy about Craig. What a loser.
Damn. Never noticed that.
That was very good.
Remember me the battle between the kicker with the switchblade and James Bond with the chair.
Connery was classic Bond. There is no better. Brosnan did an amazing job bridging a classic Bond and modern Bond. Craig made a good Bond but it turned into James Bourne REALLY quick. Really good movies but I missed the humor. I've seen the other Bonds A LOT over the years but i've only rewatched Graigs modern Bond twice. GOOD movies. Just no urge to see them again. I REALLY WANT TO SEE A RETURN TO OVER THE TOP BOND. I want the gadgets. The outrageous bad guy and girl names. The quips and double entendres never failed to bust me up. I'd even be up for a full remake or two. Moonraker would be interesting with today's tech, CGI and updated take on the plot..
Agreed. Craig is boring
@@Be.fair.to.all.people_ Agreed, Brosnan for me
I would say he only turned into that during QOS. Which was obviously a disaster. Coming back to Skyfall, Craig gave us the rawest version of Bond built back up. It was a delight.
No remakes please.
