  • Well to me it made sense for Leon and Colby to fight at some point, when Usman, Masvidal and Covington started butting heads Leon's name was in the mix, it was at this point the '3 piece and a soda' incident happened. It would have made more sense for them to fight after Covington lost to Usman the first time. Colby didn't necessarily deserve a title shot but I think it was a nice fight to see to put the stamp on the whole Usman/Covington/Edwards/Masvidal saga.

  • I fell asleep during the fight last night. I never liked Colby... he was super annoying and the word cringe is actually perfect for him. But after that first Usman fight I gained respect for him... I was extremely impressed by his will and effort and just how he fought. The second fight was impressive as well but both were losses... then the real Colby appeared. He's a gatekeeper... he got shots bc of his mouth and actions. He's now like a Dominic Reyes or even Gustafsson. His biggest accomplishment is a loss (or 2) to an actual MMA GOAT. Time to get back to the bottom of the ladder and disappear into irrelevancy.

  • Whatever Colby is as a person good or bad but there is a definite case that the almost 2 year gap stole his momentum, gaining ring rust and possibly losing a good chunk of his prime. There was literally no one Colby had to make a name, the other fighter will make the name. Do people not understand fighters fight who makes them a better name when there's no one you fight the next number when there's a bigger name you offer a dance and see if he's willing. Records creates the narrative once your status is established showing you can sell ppvs is when you get to dictate your rank until then UFC does.
