I had a profile where I had a command to tell her i was with friends and all commands needed to prefaced with "Ava" so I could leave listening on and the odds of her picking up a command when just talking almost never happened.
@@CBR600xF4i I always says Ava for immersion. Honestly you can just say “Laser” or “AMR” by themselves and they will do it You can get more complicated, making Ava the prefix and all that but I was more concerned with getting this bare bones version out
@@CLxJames I think you misunderstand. Everything is great as is! The profile I made initially I didn't want voice attack to pick the continuous speech up from me talking to my teammates. I told ava when I was alone and I could just say the single word of the stratagem. Then when I was with friends I would tell her and she would then listen for the "Ava" prefix and not pick up the stratagem in my natural speech. This is YOUR project. I am grateful that you took the time to share it.

Thanks a lot! For everyone who's running on a non -English Windows version: You need to install the English speech recognition packages and then select them in the Voice Attack settings, otherwise 90% of the commands won't be recognized. I found out the hard way, desperately calling for a railcannon with a charger breathing down my neck...

Thank you so much for this awesome little tool! i noticed there are are a few missing soundfiles, however ..three to be precise: Kante, Gundam and Mark 2
If you grab the most recent profile off the Google Drive, it should be fixed Originally, I had the three different mech songs (White Reflection, Advice and COLORS) all in the same folder along with the Weeb bit. However when I eventually got around to setting up the manual input for the Exosuit call, I decided it would play a random song from that folder As such, I move the Weeb remark to VoiceAttack\Sounds\Remarks. You can either grab the latest profile or just repath it yourself
Great work! I've been using another profile with VA but have just switched to yours to try it out. I can't seem to find the SEAF Artillery (although there are AVA responses for it). Also, you can enter multiple match phrases in VA for entries. e.g. for the 500kg you had "Eagle One" so I changed that that "Eagle [One;500]" so it will respond to "Eagle 500" as well.
Yea this was intended to be a spring board for people, to take it and tailor it to their needs Now that you mention it, the manual commands for SEAF are there but I never did a voice command. Must have forgotten
This takes me back to my Elite Dangerous days, when I probably spent more time perfecting my cockpit AI in Voice Attack than actually playing the game in VR. No wonder KZhead recommended me your videos, the algorithm wants to see me suffer through this again ;) That being said, I always preferred using the Text to Speech feature in Voice Attack over premade audio files because you can just change words on the fly and don't have to record a new audio file each time. Even bought a TTS voice called Ivona Amy because the Windows TTS voices weren't all that good. But considering how much better online voices have become nowadays, you'll definitely get a better result if you use something that isn't a decade-old software installed locally on your PC.
I was fiddling with TTS for a bit but honestly after I found this voice I just knew I had to use it

Hey again, I just gave AVA a shot last night and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER. Pleasantries out of the way XD a few things I ran into. 500kg calldown wasn't enabled in the profile and when I tried enabling it, she couldn't call it. If you close Voice Attack during gameplay, it can cause a controller to fail and not register the game's controller inputs. (Probably Voice Attack itself and not AVA related) Personality based: In your next more developed profile, would you consider giving her a more analogous reflection when referring to the User? Its a bit off-putting when I say Offline and she ends with 'James' lol Thats all so far, keep the great stuff coming!
- That manual 500kg bomb command was just a proof of concept. Once I perfected how it needed to work, I put all manual Stratagems under the Joystick 1 Button 5 press (Stratagem menu button, LB on a Xbox 360 controller) - I had never tried closing VA in the middle of a game so that's news to me. Interesting - You can use my profile as a spring board: You can always go to Elvenlabs.io and generate any voices and phrases you want. But yes in future updates I'll just try and remove any sounds that talk to me instead of the Diver

IIRC, a lot of them are her coming on line or saying that she is already there. So just sift through the Confirmations/AvaOnline and Confirmation/AvaOnline/Standing By folders

Hey Love this idea and everything you suggest. Have everything up and all but I am noticing that when i did import the profile and did the sounds file into VA that none of the voice sound files wherent applied to the commands. So do I have to go through each command and apply a sound file to it or is there to apply the voices to the commands in bulk?

There is a part later in the video where I describe how to replace sound files with what you want 12:34 Just go to ElevenLabs.io, pick the voice you want and type what you want them to say. Generate the phrase and put the files where they need to go You can also simply delete any of the sound files where she says my name. Most of her sound calls are for a random file from a specific folder

This is amazing, I just have one question. If I'm using controller, do I need to go in and switch all the commands to use the arrow keys so it doesn't stop me running when I give it a command?
Nope, I run around calling commands all the time. Default controller and keyboard bindings and everything. Shouldn’t be an issue so long as you properly assign the joystick you are using

@@ThomasZeDankEngine you would need to go to ElevenLabs.io Pick the Charlotte voice, then type whatever phrases you want her to say. Then download them and put them in the Sounds folder like I show in the video
well done !!! can you please show us how to make it more suitable for keyboard + mouse players, as the cancellation voice only works for Joystick players.
It will be a very tedious process. On my next round of days off I plan on making an alternate key press command with Left CTRL (default Stratagem menu button) However, if you wanted to make the changes yourself then you need to replace all of the following: Joystick 1 Button 1 with Keyboard Key 'S' Joystick 1 Button 2 with Keyboard Key 'D' Joystick 1 Button 3 with Keyboard Key 'A' Joystick 1 Button 4 with Keyboard Key 'W' Joystick 1 Button 12 with Left Mouse Button Unless you do Up/Down/Left/Right for Stratagem inputs then it would be Up instead of Button 4 Left instead of Button 3 Right instead of Button 2 Down instead of Button 1

hello James. does voice attack also read mouse keys? To open my strata. menu I have it as my middle mouse button.(pushing the mouse wheel down.) I tried to do a mass update on the key but it not recanizing my mouse keys? thanks for the help and all the hard work.
For updating the manual stratagem calls? You would have to update every input. Right now they are built for using a controller Outside the game, looking at VoiceAttack as you try to do a code: does it even recognize the button press for starting a manual stratagem?
Okay following that same comment how do I prevent it from doing that again, seems super cool yet it just absolutely destroyed my desktop lol
No rush this is phenomenal work James. I've been tinkering around with it myself. Does anyone know how if it can be made to use mouse button 4\5 to open strategems? Part of my setup along with the arrow keys was moving the strategem window to my mouse by double click mouse 4, I had thought I figured it out but in reality I did not.
So are you asking how to trigger the manual Stratagem code in VoiceAttack using Mouse Button 4? Or in the game itself?
@@CLxJames So in game to activate stratagems it's mouse 4, with voice attack i cant seem to make it open up the stratagem window currently if that makes more sense.
@@CLxJames I figured it out, sorry for bothering you and everyone else about it. I had modified it almost correctly, to double click mouse forward, just needed to add a duration. I went with .1 and it seems to work perfectly now. Once again James thank you for all of this. Amazing work.
Did anyone happen to create sound bits to replace all the ones that says "James" in it? To make it more generic?
So I was just using this pack and for some reason it's moved everything off of my desktop and i have no idea where it all went so I've just lost a lot of important work. that's rough times

Correct. So depending on what sound you are talking about is what file you would replace. IIRC most of the sounds where she says my name ceom from the Voice Attack/Sounds/Confirmations/AvaOnline and AvaOnline/Standing By with the commands being good morning, wake up, you there, etc
Sweet thanks. What program/site did you use for voice? Or is it within voice attack?
Unfortunately mine only recognizes the 20 commands in the demo, which is fine, I'm planning on buying the full version after I test it out in the game. Also somebody else mentioned they set theirs up to have a prefix where they need to say Ava first and then the command that way if they're having a conversation with their teammates and talking about a weapon, ava doesn't accidentally try to send down that weapon. Is there a way to do that easily?
I messed around with some prefix stuff, and it’s definitely something that can be done, but I figured it’d be easier to just keep my game mic on PTT so I can use Ava as necessary and just watch what I say when I need to talk to my team Then again, I don’t have a regular crew that I dive with so it isn’t often that I say something to my squad. I can see why people would want prefixes if they are chatting all the time
Everything running great and this was a great tutorial. Just wondering if there is a fix for the continuous speech not recognizing speech. i was testing it with things like "AVA send down eagle airstrike" "send down orbital" etc but it would only complete the command if i said "eagle airstrike" "oribital" by itself. just wondering if im doing something wrong or if i possibly need to modify the commands? any advice
Have you done any Speech Recognition? You need to train your computer to get used to you voice. It’s cadence, enunciation, etc. Each training session it has you read multiple sentences, one at a time I trained my computer five different times before it started getting super consistent
I have not and I’ll have to do that. Is there a specific program I should be using to do this with?
@@andrewencinias9056it’s native to Windows. Comes with all modern Windows operating systems. Look for it in your Control Panel or Settings. I have to do another tutorial on a few things people keep asking about, I’ll be sure to touch on Speech Recognition

Love the concept and the whole idea. I got everything setup, however, (and I'm not sure if it's due to using a controller or not) but when I call for say, a rail gun, she acknowledges, says she's sending it but she never inputs the strat. Wasn't sure if there was a steam or HD2 setting I needed to change or something?
I’ll be able to check later tonight but I was fairly certain everything worked Additionally, a major update is coming that includes comments and remarks for readying and sending every support weapon, setups for keyboard and mouse players, etc
@@CLxJames no doubt everything works, I’m almost positive it’s something I’ve done. I’ll probs go, clear everything out and just start fresh. Either way it’s super cool and once I figure it out I’ll be even more obsessed than I already am.
@@antonioabroad7 another thing is: you can’t be hitting other buttons when you do a call in. The game is looking for a specific set of inputs in order. Additionally, depending on your computer and Internet connection the pauses in between button presses might not be long enough. I think I am going to increase each pause in every stratagem to 0.05 seconds, just to be safe
@@CLxJames that’s good to know also. I was absolutely pressing multiple buttons and doing things. That very well may be my problem
So i just dowload the demo version of voice attack but i can't press the import profile button to upload your file. I have no idea what happen.
So I guess I had some misinformation. It seems you can’t import profiles. What I think happened was that since I had the full version, when I used the demo version for those examples it just picked whatever last profile I had been using
i copied the sounds folder into the voiceattack sounds folder and it's saying, "random sound directory does not exist."
Did you restart VoiceAttack after making changes to the Sounds folder? VoiceAttack loads all the mp3s on startup, so if you started VA and then put the Sounds were they belong, it won’t work
I'm having a problem where the strategem is called in but I can't actually throw it.
Could you tell me the scenario? Like you call for an orbital laser and the beacon doesn’t end up in your hand?
Side note: I would ABSOLUTELY pay you to make me a J.A.R.V.I.S. profile XD (is that possible?)
Does all this still work with Controllers / D-Pad inputs?? I guess it could still register the keyboard while using a controller 🤔
Controls are dynamic in HD2. Keyboard bindings and controller bindings are active at the same time I use an Xbox 360 controller, yet in the code for the voice activated stratagems, it holds down CTRL, does the button presses in WASD, etc. Works perfectly fine. There is some problem in (not English versions of Windows) Somehow, it does not listen to me corectly. Works only if i execute the commands manually. If i find something out, will let you know.
Have you trained your Speech Recognition in Windows? English is the only language I am proficient in but I imagine you can set your Speech Recognition to a variety of different languages In any case, the command words in VoiceAttack are in English. If you change them to whatever language you speak and train your Speech Recognition, I imagine everything should work
@@CLxJames My problem was, i needed to download english language pack from Microsoft, you can only download the speech recognition and it will work.
I cant get any of the sounds (voice/music) to work, it just says "random sound directory does not exist" idk what I did wrong
Did you put the Sounds folder in the right place?

I find this a little cheesy and fail to see a disability that allows someone to play the rest of Helldivers with all the movement, shooting, diving etc but can’t put in a strat code. If this was a PvP game this would be considered a cheat.
Ah I didn’t realize we had some sort of certified medical professional amongst us There are numerous disabilities, both mental or physical, that could keep someone from being able to consistently perform Stratagems I also said that it can be used for immersion. You don’t have to use the voice commands. She makes the comments if you do the codes manually as well. So I fail to see what your issue is Finally, I have official response from Arrowhead Game Studios that VoiceAttack is being whitelisted in GameGuard and has full authorization to be used “If this was a PvP game…” guess what bud? It’s not
@@CLxJames I was clear, I said I find it cheesy and I fail to see how one can play the rest of the game but not put in a 5 button press combination. I didn't say it was not allowed or that it IS cheating, just that it would be considered cheating in a PvP game, so relax with the passive aggressive BS "bud"... unless of course it's part of your disability, in which case, guess what bud...
