Looking back with the knowledge of our modern communication, I still can not figure out how in 1960s, with nothing but some mechanical switches and vacuum tubes, US can accomplish REAL TIME VIDEO CONFERENCING from moon surface, to moon orbit, and to earth. We are in the age of computer chips with billions of transistors and we could not do REAL TIME VIDEO CONFERENCES from Mars. We just stich some pictures together and pan left and right and pretend that is motion pictures.

They are not the U.S. Always remember the horrific 2003 and 1986 USA space shuttle mission both times exploded within seconds into launch taking the lives of 14 u.s astronauts each time whilst raining an entire rocket down upon a city and it's people both times.

I think it is a stepping stone to interstellar exploration. And imagine the possibility of living on the moon. Given that we are already on brink of WW3. It is good to have a backup planet to live on. LOL
