  • I take major issue with the Seahawks loss being no 1 and ranked higher than the Bills losing in 90, the Falcons in '16 and the Titans in' 99. The loss is significantly more devestating for teams that have no superbowl wins (including two teams that never have made it any other time). I think there is also a case to be made for the Patriots loss in '07 being ranked higher than Seattles as I can't imagine a more devestating scenario than going from "greatest team of all time" to "greatest that never won".

    @stevenoglows3363@stevenoglows33633 жыл бұрын
    • I think that loss is ranked #1 because everyone in the entire world expected them to run Lynch in for an easy TD. The game was over and everyone knew it. If they allowed people to bet on the outcome of the game in that moment, I don't think there's a person on the face of the earth who would have betted on New England. But the Seahawks wanted to make Wilson the hero so badly that they decided to throw instead. And not only was the pass incomplete, it was picked. The fortunes changed so quickly in the closing seconds that it definitely deserves to be near the top, if not #1.

      @logicaldude3611@logicaldude36112 жыл бұрын
    • I don’t think they’re ranking most miserable franchises. They’re purely ranking the endings of individual games. The Bills in 1990 hadn’t lost any Super Bowls prior to 1990, so it’s not like they missed the kick and were like “oh no, this is extra terrible because we are going to lose the next 3 Super Bowls too!” However, I completely agree that, even just ranking individual games, and not contextualizing it with franchise histories, the Falcons loss in 2016 is way worse than what happened with the Seahawks. Seahawks blew what was one play in a very back and forth game. Falcons had a huge lead and proceeded to give the game away and completely blunder with a horrible game plan and execution for the entire 4th quarter.

    • @@logicaldude3611 even if Lynch scores there is no guarantee they win, Brady was in surgical mode in the 4th 13 of 15 for 122 and 2 TDs I have no doubt he would've gotten us at least in FG range to send it to overtime or if they called a timeout and left him more time probably takes us down the field again, I used to say in the Bledsoe days "imagine going undefeated and lose the SB?" And it was every bit as painful as I thought it would be, especially when Asante Samuel lets the game ending pick hit him in the hands then drops it, Jarvis Green had Eli dead to rights a second away from the play being blown dead that resulted in the helmet catch, then seeing Brady just miss hitting Moss for the winner by a half inch, it took me until the win against Seattle before I could finally even talk about that game, 12-4 teams lose the SB all the time but being that close is soul crushing

  • Awesome video. Some great memories here. When I was a kid, the Superbowl was always a one-sided blowout. But from 1989 when Montana & Rice led the 49ers to victory against Sam Wyche's Bengals, there have been some amazing games in the season finale. Look at some of the games which didn't even make this list: -- 2008/09 when Kurt Warner hit Larry Fitzgerald over the middle and Arizona took the lead with 2 minutes remaining, but Ben Roethlisberger and Santonio Holmes had other ideas. Pittsburgh went 90 yards over the last 90 seconds with Big Ben repeatedly scrambling to his left and right to buy himself time to throw and then Holmes breaking the Cardinals' hearts when he rose at full stretch to take a fingertip catch in the back corner of the end zone while somehow getting both of his big toes down inches inside the line. Surely this devastating loss should've been in your top 10???? -- 2011/12 when Tom Coughlin's Giants once again denied Belichick and the Patriots and Eli Manning & Mario Manningham worked some sideline magic in the final 2-3 minutes. -- 2012/13 Blackout Bowl when Colin Kaepernick & Frank Gore drove the 49ers to the 7 yard line with 2 minutes left and took 4 shots at the end zone, but the Ravens defence stood firm and the referees seemed to forget all about the "holding" rule.

  • I love this list, I’ve always said that it wasn’t Brady that lost the 18-1 season, it was the Defense! I say that because every time we hear about that SB it’s always a check mark against Brady, but he clearly did his job against that great Defense. The reality of it is, it was on Rodney Harrison in the end, him and Bill Belichick’s Defense! Its just series of mind boggling blown plays, from the “not” sack to the helmet catch, and then to leave Plax wide open in the end zone?!? Still, the genius of BB is in this list too, from stopping the “K Gun” to not calling a time out and letting Pete Carrol bring a Lombardy to NE “like we all used to say up around here in these parts,” just awesome. Bill Belichick is THE most intriguing and fascinating coach in the history of sports! Watching that guy on the sidelines is awe inspiring, but its his post game interviews that will always warn my heart. A master class in giving the middle finger to the haters and doubters without lifting a finger ,.!.. lmao! Great list
