  • I'm late to the party but something that's also important to keep in mind is that once these liquid protectors go on, you can't remove them. This means if you get a scratch, the screen will still be "protected" but since these act like clear-coats, you're kind of stuck with the blemish forever. Regular tempered glass however can just be replaced when needed. For the price, either get a case that has a screen protector built in or stick to buying a new tempered glass every now and then.

    @danaolsongaming@danaolsongaming2 жыл бұрын
    • From what I understand, the liquid glass/ceramic coatings still need to be reapplied every few months or up to a year. (Glass needing to be reapplied more often than ceramic). That would lead me to believe that any minor scratch would eventually even out or could be buffed away, then you could just reapply a fresh coat of liquid glass

      @turtlepowersf@turtlepowersf2 жыл бұрын

No one would drop their phone in the way that would resemble a hammer hitting it. Other then that it shows the temperd glass is stronger but i feel that it sould have the liquid on applyed first then the glass then the liquid again just to be safe.

  • I have used 2 different Tempered glass screen protectors on my S21 Ultra and the curved screen didn't let any of those to adhere correctly. Dust kept creeping in and finally had to go for Gadgetshieldz liquid screen protectors as they fit edge to edge due to it being a flexible film. Even got protection for sides and back as extra in the package. So for curved screens I would suggest screen protector like Gadgetshieldz.

Not to reduce cracks and scratches but to make it way easier to clean my fingerprints off, especially my baby boy's, because whenever I lend him my phone it's full of dirty fingerprints. I've applied the "NANO Hi-Tech" to my phones glass about as often as I've replaced the main screen protector. Around 5 times now in the last 3+ years. It does make a difference, it does make the fingerprints easier to wipe off. As I use my phone for recording stock footage, that's important.

  • Thank you for the review. A few points: 1. While Dglass Coat has some effect immediately, it takes a week or so for it to reach its full strengthening potential. 2. When applying it, you should rub it in both a counterclockwise and clockwise directions. This helps it better seep into imperfections on the glass surface and makes it more effective. These facts were not included on the instructions until recently and Mrwhosetheboss could not have been aware of them. As for the test itself, hitting the phone hard with a very small surface area of a hammer is very different than the kind of stresses a phone will face when dropped etc. in normal use. For preventing damage in more likely daily-life mishaps, Dglass Coat is very effective in making the difference between a phone with a screen that needs to be replaced and one with no damage at all. However, if you want maximum strength greater than what you are likely to need, a phone screen treated with Dglass Coat with tempered glass on top would likely survive all but the most extreme trials without any damage. It should be noted that Dglass Coat lasts for the life of the glass and never needs to be reapplied. Finally, keep in mind that its use is not limited to screens, and it can strengthen any glass.

    • @@manuelgutierrez7656 Gradually stepping up the tests would have shown much more. He went directly from what most screens can take to a level of stress that is highly unlikely any phone will ever face. Dglass Coat can more than double the strength of any glass but not make it unbreakable. Where it is most useful on phones are those situations above what most phones can take from something like a high drop in real life but below something very extreme like getting pounded with the claw of a hammer. The proof of its strengthening ability was shown with the way it better resisted the hammer blows after being shattered. For a protection that is cheap and will last forever without ever having to deal with bubbles etc., it cannot be beat and it will keep your screen from breaking in all but the most extreme situations that most phones never experience.

  • I love your channel mate and watch it all the time. I do have one issue and it is about this video and others like it. If you are going to test the three phones with a hammer drop you need to put a hole through the end of the handle, attaching it to a stand/rig then have a release at a certain height so that every hit on the glass is the same. You are hitting mobile phone glass with a hammer so even the slightest differention of force (which will happen) means your experiment is inconclusive. Would love you to rig up a simple jig so you can make repeatable experiments not just for one video but something that would produce the same results on a current phone today as well as one in two years.

Some sellers of car coatings already started to sell gadget protectors as well which means phones, tablets, watches etc. Some after aplying multiple coats will no longer show fingerprints on screen making phone look always clean. Using your methods it'd be fairly easy for someone to manipulate the results because only you know how much force you're applying with your hand. *A more reliable alternative: Drop tests, just drop the phones from certain heights: there we can have fixed variables that are always equal: fixed height and fixed gravitational acceleration that can't be manipulated.

  • I think a marble test would have been better because, we can't tell how much force you are actually applying in each case and if it is equal to the force applied in the other experiment, An alternative would be to drop a metal ball bearing on the screens at varying heights with gravity as a constant

  • I have the Black Ice on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and it is scratched in less than three months. Chatted with them on their website this morning and they told me tough, they only cover breaks and cracks. Go with a traditional protector.

  • Screen protectors are designed to protect from scratchs - and are not designed to absorb energy from a impact. I.E drop iton a sidewalk and it slides - instead of looking like you took sand paper to it, you can just replace it. and have a new looking screen. you can't expect a small piece of glass or plastic to stop a hammer from cracking the display.

    • Uh, no. Then they should be called “Scratch protectors”. They’re SUPPOSED to protect you against all kinds of physical damage, not just scratches. A hammer might be extreme, but there ARE cases where pretty high force is put against the phone, like dropping it on its face. Even if they’re supposed to stop scratches, that doesn’t make sense when they ARE strong enough to save your actual screen from when it could’ve been shattered. If screen protectors could save your phone from things other than scratches, isn’t that a fine reason for a person to use them?

    • These new liquid screen protectors use nano tech so it's supposed to protect the phone from any sort of impact. Except, these scientists are lying to us about nano tech of course.

      @thatguyoverthere6531@thatguyoverthere65314 жыл бұрын
  • My takeaway from this is to use both. The liquid one on you phone, and then apply the glass protector over it. That way even the parts that aren't covers by the glass protector (like the camera section and home button) have some protection. The next question is what happens if you then apply the liquid treatment to to glass protector?

  • Curious how similar this is to those nano ceramic/carbon paint protectors for cars. I happened upon some at a auto store, and put it on a die-cast model. It did get a little bit more shiny, almost as like a wet luster like when you get a rock wet. I wonder how these automotive nano liquids would compare to those for smartphones.
