I've always wanted BP to form a company together, to show that asswipe his place. I mean they got it all. 4 women that are specializing in all aspects of the industry. Dance, singing, acting, and smart. I love them now but just imagine the possibilities for other artist under them.

YG himself doesn't write, he barely produces he just takes credit for it. Good example is Teddy and his team. You have universal, RCA, Sony and countless others that hire producers and writers. That’s bad but remember YG only ever protected the males during scandals (Daesung, To an extent Seungri, GD, T.O.P, YG himself) but the females never got help (Minzy, Bom, Jennie, insulting 2NE1 as a whole). SM also has a bad track record of defending their idols so I don’t wanna leave that out either. Currently BoA has faced all sorts of criticism since debut. EXO has had their fair share. Just any group under them.
I will never ever forgive YG for mistreating and bullying 2NE1. As a blackjack it’s so heartbreaking seeing the members get treated this way when they were still together when they’re so talented and beautiful. They deserved so much better when they literally helped shape Kpop on what it is today.
YG himself also a boy group you think they should not disband too? Come on, new group for new generation of younger people. If people stop paying attention to 2ne1 the value is not there or they are not used to what they were in the past, just move on kid,

I will never forgive YG for ruining Blackpink. All the hiatuses ruined blackpink. Members started to prioritise their solo careers more then group's. And due to yg's mistreatment now they all left yg and its now safe to say Blackpink wont release anything for years after 2024's comeback and will disappear as a group

The Park Bom situation is wild cause I take ADHD meds too. The audacity that the company couldn’t defend her for taking prescribed medication is insane.
Same, I think only methylphenidate and atomoxetine are legal in korea, while dexamphetamine is not. Honestly many people have side effects from methylphenidate so I don't understand why they wouldn't approve dexamphetamine (adderall) or at least lisdexamphetamine (vyvanse/elvanse) which has a low misuse chance.

Also why would Bom knowingly smuggle adderall when she has a prescription and the investigation concluded that she used it like she was supposed to? I believe Bom made an honest mistake not knowing it was illegal, as some other ADHD meds are legal in SK. YG might have buried the investigation when it happened, but I would have expected a response from the agency when a journalist dug up the story and added false rumors about the gummy bear container. YG could have made a statement together with Bom about her diagnose and how she used those drugs for medical purposes, even tho it was wrong to order them through mail from the US. It would have saved Bom at least from the druggie accusations and could have even brought attention on ADHD issues in South Korea.

As a Blink it is always too sad to see that the group does not have many songs. The antis always attack them for their popularity because they think that they are lazy for not having more music, but at the same time BP is still the most popular gg. I have always preferred the group to not be that famous so that YG would have tried to give them more songs to make them go big. I love their songs but they are too little.

This channel has no shame you are to obvious to bring back all YG’s previous issues, and desperate to divert all the issues in kpop these days to YG again,why don’t make an article for all YG’s accomplishments like getting their company being ISO certified allowing, iKON to transfer to new company with the rights of their group. and still keeping BlackPink as group even though they have interest to pursue their independence a solo artist and kept Ahyeon with BabyMonster and allowing idols to leave at their own personal reasons for privacy so they can still continue and pursue their own career in music.😤

The blackpink girls are now thriving in their solo careers with no lawsuit in their name unlike those in SM. YG invest in their artist and gave them a name, no debt after debut, started earning profitably when they debut and more when they have concerts. YG is a business and a company do you expect charity? I don't see why Babymonster debut is a failure. They already have an album and lot's of songs in the first 6 months after debut. They have a huge international fanbase and have 100 + million views per MV. Yes they have similarities with Blackpink (don't know why that's a bad thing), but a lot of the new groups have similarities with other groups.

YG is wasting TREASURE’s potential. They have reality show call “Solo” and I thought it was a comeback. They had no comebacks since BONA BONA which did not do so well. It wasn’t a flop, it just didn’t do well as JIKJIN, DARARI, and HELLO. I love TREASURE back when they were 12, but now that Yedam and Mashiho left, I’ve kinda lost interest in them.

At the end of the day, YG will be YG. He must be doing something right because he makes better gg groups than other companies. No matter how long it's been, everyone still talks about all his girl groups. Right now, people are even praising YG for his quality. You dont need a million songs to be the best. I see a lot of fans call it mismanagement that groups don’t have a million comebacks a year. Being an idol looks exhausting! Constantly performing 24-7 to fans and it’s still never good enough. I’ve always felt the lack of pressure from YG to constantly learn new songs and choreo and tour and promote and be perfect all the time is more a good management tactic than a poor one. Especially since it seems a good number of these idols are inherently shy and introverted, I’d think they’d need time to recharge before going again
I partially agree. We don't need a million comebacks a year like some groups do, but there should be at least one comeback a year unless the group is facing a serious problem or something. If blackpink weren't as popular as they are with such a strong fanbase, their careers would've faded away. I mean look at everglow, they hadn't released a song in so long that even though they were pretty popular at one point, their latest releases were not that popular. So I'd say YG's level is mistreatment, too much damages the idols, and too little damages their careers. Neither is a good option

Still. No one can make artists like in YG. The first training starts with personality training. Nobody has mindset like their idols. THAT is exactly why no matter who leaves at which point, they'll always make a name for themselves. And they aren't afraid to go solo.
When youre in the big company but the company marketing is "Limited high demand" to make everthing seems exclusive...
I still believe all that fame that went to Iggy Azalea should/would have went to CL if YG didn't work so hard to put a halt to her career & its expansion into the west. She's way too talented and deserved better. The way YG tried to just discard her after all those years of treating her as the favourite was evil.
BM members are talented, the problem is YG not giving them their own identity, YG still ride (or still trying to) with BP's popularity, either they are gambling the success of BM using the BlackPink formula or they're just lazy.... or both

But what they do from marketing point is not really so bad. They use existing fanbase of company to build fandom for their new group. And it's works BM has one of the highest SNS engagement for rookie group. And group obviously has already different identity as it's something always YG wanted to do so their version of SNSD. Pretty girls next door with above average vocal skills. Like Rora is totally SM style idol including vocal.

What is different is approach to fanbase. BP had image of beings above everyone. Like they rarely communicated with fanbase at the beginning and for pretty long we had limited info about them. In case of BM they released a lot of info about girls, even their families or friends supported them publicly. That's why it is girls next door. And vocals well that's obvious. I think it's the most female vocal group from YG since Big mama. Both 2en1 and BP was based more on rappers/sub vocals like in BM core are vocalists. Rap has role more of featuring.

This is unlike 2ne1, GP and now Babymonster as they're just using the exact same production formula as they always have, and same lyrical content talking about how they're beasts in the music industry and how great they are and all that. YG really lost a big opportunity with Babymonster. Since they were promoted as the ''YG genes'' and a hip hop group, they should've taken advantage of the current trend of kpop, going back to 90's and 2000's sound. Just instead of the bubbly or nostalgic vibe, they could've gone with a hip hop and rnb sound that resembles those years, with a modern touch. Bringing some unique hairstyles from kpop 1st gen, and making something fun and cool at the same time. Instead, they decided to go for a 2018 girl grush sound which feels too ordinary. And ngl, their music is still enjoyable, but their impact was not as big as it could have been, especially in Korea, they're struggling to fight against ILLIT or Newjeans

YG definitely have done many mistakes in the past towards 2ne1 and blackpink. But no matter what, thr group they debut always become a phenomenon in the years ahead so despite poor management. They definitely have ability to train and debut talented groups. Actually when we say sheesh is bad. Honestly every YG group their songs are like this. Blackpink song also have the vibe in the beginning but they still emerge as one of the legendary girl group afterall.

The only group YG messed up was their first gg which is 2NE1. Even though Papa YG and his brother were the only one fighting for 2NE1 to stay together, the other board members who are money hungry didn’t want to keep investing in them and voted for their disbandment. With Blackpink they got really successful, the girls are still considered one of the best girl groups in the world but are able to strive also in their solo careers. Blackpink remind me of bigbang in that they didn’t release a lot of albums but they joined a list of legendary group because of their impact on K-pop. YG are so far doing well with Babymonster too, the girls are growing in popularity because they get to showcase their talent. We all know we fell in love with YG sound somehow when stanning a YG group, because for example, Blackpink sound will be completely different out of YG which the fans have to get used to. I’m glad the pink girls are able to get their solo break right now (since girls don’t get that because they don’t have military service). I’m sure they’ll be able to find their own sound. Hopefully blinks like their new sound also.

Blackpink will continue to earn YG money for decades and Babymonster might still do well. There is no single recipe for success. Just think about the slow uptake and the many mis-steps with Twices debut, it did take some time. Or the addition of Yeri to Red Velvet.

Honestly I disagree with the majority comments, YG and the company do not deserve praise for producing quality idols. They've emotionally manipulated fans into loyalty for idols that were scarsely seen and/ or inadequately promoted. When you make an emotional connection with someone it hurts more to walk away and leave them to handle the situation alone than it does to stay and support them even if you know you're only going to further the mistreatment and enable the perpertrator. I take nothing away from the idols and the efforts they themselves made for their careers but I feel most of the loyalty fans have towards YG idols is born out of the unfair treatment those idols receive. It's actually a good business tactic, despicable but fiscally good.

Yang married someone from one of his groups disrespected and violated the 2NE1 members, made blackpink take 600 day hiatuses and hold them back from their full potential, BAEMOM is the only group I see yg treating with respect and maybe that will die to, treasure and winner also take very long hiatuses and akmu has a comeback once in a blue moon. Papa YG doesn't have full control over groups. Even if you're the CEO you still have to go through others before making an executive decision. Stock holders sometimes have a say too. I don't like how people blame him only when in fact it's not just him making decisions.
