My dad has the same issue with a 2007, I am going to buy this stuff and give it a try. Thanks for the upload and review.
thanks for the video I have the same year car, and yes I got tha sticky Dash as well.. I will let you know - just bought it!!
Thanks! I’m gonna try it!
Thanks so much. I, too, have a 2009 Camry with an extremely sticky dashboard. Will I have to paint it? There is no damage to the dash.
Amazing video.
Thank you very much! Any other videos you’d like to see? Always looking for new ideas for content.
* Sodium Carbonate (soda ash) in Oxy Clean or Pool pH Buffer work fine too Along with Isopropyl Alcohol also. The pool buffer doesn't have the sickeningly sweet smell. You need to reseal it though or it comes back !!! I used Car Guys brand. Worked great. 👊😎👍
Sticky fix Rocks!
That seems like an amazing product. How many layers is it possible to do with the quantity of paint you get? How long did it take to completely dry? Thanks a lot for the video!
The drying process didn’t take very long at all and in terms of paint coats, I probably could’ve done more. it’s pretty thin stuff so I would actually recommend more coats than what I did.
@@solostudios3160 Thanks for the answer!
All I did with mine was go to Home Depot and got Polyurethane water base clear , and it work 100%
Do you just put it over or clean first
What is the surface coating exactly?
I know you wasn't able to, but I would've taken the dash out, laid it out my garage and really put the work to it… Also, as an old boomer, I commend you on your background music that's some sweet stuff there...
I initially considered replacing the dash all together but it would have been pricey and with the way Toyota does their vehicles I would have had to disassemble practically the whole car to install it.
I see you used the dash product for cleaning and stickiness. But then you said you were painting? Where did you get the liquid black toyota paint for the dash. I liked the roller idea, just need the paint
Pretty sure that's the surface coating they supply along with the cleaner.
When you order this product it will ask you for the interior paint code
There was a recall for that. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the dashboard n/c
From my research, it looked like the recall expired
Yes my Lexus dashboard just started cracking and they did not send me a notice of a recall and they will no longer fix these dashboards. Seems if there is a problem there should not be an expiration date.
I had the Toyota Dealer replace my dash, after 2 years the the dash became sticky again and was worse than before. Toyota dealer will not replace. Just wondering if they used the same type of dash when car was manufactured...Toyota lost one customer....Me @@LindaSmith-cp3yl
It wasn’t a recall. That would have been too much like doing the right thing and would have cost Toyota loads of money. Instead they did what they called a ‘warranty extension’ is what I’ve found out. That means no notification sent out to the many people with the affected vehicles. People would have had to go to a dealer and bring it up. Very underhanded by the company if you ask me. I’m stuck with a shiny dashboard that reflects on the window and makes it very difficult to see when the sun is out. I’m on KZhead looking for a solution.
@seasonedsofisticate1901 💯 I actually had to research before I found out
Can u pls put a link. I want to buy this product for my Camry
Thanks for the feedback! Link is now in the description.
The dash on my Lexus is cracked and I was hoping you'd show more of your results on the large crack. How did that turn out?
It turned out very well. The crack was long but not super large. I plan to try it on a dashboard with more cracks soon, we'll see how it goes!
where can i find that spray bottle?
It comes with the sticky dash fix, I suppose I should add a link to it.
its so crazy Toyota made this horrible dashboard for over a decade even on the Lexus models
Will it get sticky again in the future?
The sun (heat) is the main reason for the dash to get damaged like that, so if you have your car always on the sun, then yes, sooner than later, it will get sticky again
My car is parked in the sun year-round, so yes, it is sticky again. Doesn’t look quite as bad though.
Would you say you’re still happy with the results ?
So, after about a year, it definitely looks better than used to, but I should’ve done multiple more coats. I park my car outside and it gets a lot of sun through the day so that probably doesn’t help.
Bagaimana cara saya beli produk ini untuk Camry saya?
You can purchase the product from the link in the video description
Yo rumour has it that Toyota will actually fix it for free as a “recall”. Is this true anyone? (I’m located in Australia)
As far as I know, that recall expired in 2014
It was extended to 2017 I think; before I bought my 2006 Solara Conv and did not have the problem till I worked in FL! I reached out to Toyota last year and they will not help with the issue anymore. I did not know it even was an issue since I bought it from someone that kept it in the garage in NY! So thanks for the video!
