  • I don't have axylotyls but have always wanted some. They r a very unique species which is why i love them. The weirder the better I always say 😅. I would love to have a couple but i guess im just kinda scared, at the same time. I want to make sure i know how to properly take good care of them before i invest in it. Thank u for taking the time and effort of showing us how to do things like this. Much love from Arkansas ❤.

    • Everyone says they’re super hard to take care of but for me they’re the easiest animals i ever kept, they don’t like light or heat, just give them a tank w a good filter and feed them bloodworms 2-3 times a week, I’ve had two for goin on 4 years now

  • Axolotls don’t like a lot of water movement from what I’ve been told. I’d recommend turning that filter down.

    @theoneandonlymrme@theoneandonlymrme6 ай бұрын
    • That's not a lot of movement. I run a Tidal HOB filter on one of my tanks and they are fine. And on another tank I have a big make that likes to sit in the bubbles from the air stone

    • some fish eat the slime coat. but some are a safe feeder fish. i sometimes put guppies in with my axolotls when they breed too much for my tropical set up. they are safe but i know people put goldfish in with them and goldfish will eat axolotls. fish are either food or predators, towards axolotls. best to leave them on their own. plus most feeder fish that are safe are tropical and wont be happy in cold waters.

      @Jess.Charely.1124@Jess.Charely.11246 ай бұрын
    • Thanks. This is why I added Gambusia, part of the guppy family but hardy in cold water. They will snack on them if needed, but most likely won’t as they are fed often
