A review of the finished aircraft, including that iconic HOWL! : kzhead.info/sun/oa-lY76onqOdnIE/bejne.html
Im new to your channel. Can you nutshell the Just Flight for me? I am assuming its a add on for MFS?! I have a naff spec laptop and as much as I wish I could run it, it will be a while before I can afford a to-spec PC!
can you co-pilot aswell?
Hi WFAA, Welcome to the channel : ) Just Flight are an independent developer / publisher, who create / sell addons for Microsoft Flight Simulator (amongst other sims). The Vulcan is indeed an addon for MSFS (though also available for P3D / X-Plane). I don’t know much about it myself but, perhaps look into the cloud gaming version of MSFS, it sounds like that can be run on almost anything haha. I hope that clarifies things a little? All the best!
You can certainly operate the Vulcan from the co-pilot’s seat as well, yes (you’ll still be responsible for flying the aircraft though). Cheers : )
I've heard the term previously, that aircraft like this in simulations are very much like keeping the aircraft alive in museums, with the bonus of being able to experience their flight. This is definitely keeping the Vulcan alive and showing what she can do for the new generations of air enthusiasts. I remember seeing the Vulcan in airshows and looking forward to the howl that was the signature of a great air display. I'm looking forward to being able to get hold of it and trying to tame such an icon in flight simulator. :)
I completely agree Russell; when an aircraft is recreated virtually to this sort of degree, not only can it be a bit of a work of art but, it does help to keep these iconic machines “flying”, in some small way. Whilst a sim addon will never be quite the same as the real deal (of course), simming does at least allow the user to get more “up close and personal” with the aircraft in question (especially with VR etc). I’m often asked why one would want to fly a vintage military jet, or a warbird in a civilian sim; I’ve always thought it’s a bit like someone choosing to drive a classic car - it’s for the pleasure of experiencing the machine! Anyway, Just Flight have done a cracking job with the Vulcan and hopefully they’ll go on to give us a few more British classics : ) Cheers, happy flying and all the best!
Thanks and maybe one day I'll bump into you in the skies where we'll be flying in some old classics :)@@IntotheBlueSimulations
If you do Russel, by all means, fly on over and say “hello”! Cheers : )
we need more planes like this not another a320 thxs
Amen. What I wouldn’t give for a Victor, Tri-Star or Nimrod…
there's no point in them in a sim like MSFS tbh
@@KimmyR3 Depends on your imagination- Nimrod flights over the North Sea in difficult conditions, recreating ferry flights from Tri-Stars (also a successful civilian airliner)… you’re only limited by your imagination.
He hasnt flown an a320 in over a year
@@KimmyR3given the lack of fidelity in a C172, not sure the ‘keep it a sim’ line holds water. In terms of aircraft handling, still miles off. Really just glorified chair flying. Great fun, but really still just a game.
I saw XH558 at a couple of airshows just before she stopped flying. The outrageous crackling howl of the engines ripping the air apart was outrageous. A very nice looking recreation of the Vulcan for sure.
I had the privilege of seeing the last Vulcan in flight, twice. There’s nothing else like it. Massive bomb doors always part of the display, the enormous wing filling the sky above you, and of course that tremendous howl. I miss her.
Lovely stuff, Ashfielder! I was lucky enough to see the Vulcan fly before she retired, also - something I will never forget. It’s not the same of course but, at least we can still enjoy her virtually. I’m glad the video brought back some nice memories. Cheers and all the best! : )
I can still hear and feel the sound and sight of them doing Pass Out Parade flyovers for the recruits when I was stationed at RAF Swinderby in the early 80’s.
I watched the last RAF Vulcan doing it fairwell pass whilst stood on No 1 IOT Mess parade ground at RAFC Cranwell back in the day. Something I'll never fotget.
Awesome, Alan! My only experience with the Vulcan, was one of her last outings on the airshow circuit but, like you, the aircraft certainly left a lasting impression (and this seems to be the case for everyone that encountered mighty Vulcan). Such a shame that the aircraft is no longer flying but, at least we still get to experience her in some small way (thanks to Just Flight). . . Many thanks for sharing and all the best : )
2 x EE lightnings for my passing out at Swinderby, 4th March ‘87. Incredible noise.
Mate, I watch your videos with a pen and a notebook, writing down notes as if I'm back in college. Thanks for the effort you put in and the professionalism. You made me convinced about getting the Vulcan. What a marvel of engineering. Can't wait to record flybys in it with the iconic howl. Keep up the excellent work and take care!
Hi Sambuddha, Haha, well thanks very much indeed! It’s always a pleasure to hear that someone is not only enjoying the content but, also getting something out of the videos : ) My absolute pleasure on the vids; by and large, I really enjoy making them (certainly in the case of the Vulcan haha). I do hope you’re enjoying the addon and those flybys. Many thanks again - hugely appreciated. All the best!
Mind blowing how confident you sound in all the incredibly detailed procedures of all these vastly different aircraft , superb thank you !
Haha well, thank you very much UKAL, very kind of you to say! I try to do a little homework ahead of any review and I actually put in a couple hours with the P3D version of the addon, ahead of recording this flight : ) Of course, like anybody else, I have to brush up ahead of a flight but, learning new aircraft / systems / procedures, is probably the thing I most enjoy about simming so, it never really feels like a chore. Cheers again and all the best!
Whenever I visualise ITB he's a rakish figure, with a substantial moustache but not full handlebar. Casually stylish in leather jacket and thigh length boots, even when watching I'm A Celeb in his lounge in the evening. Grammar school educated and his family live in Buckinghamshire.
Haha! You’re far too kind, Jeep. Although, I think you pretty much described my grandfather (in his younger days) haha. Funnily enough, Buckinghamshire was home for the first several years of my life but, I was deemed too thick to go to grammar school and so we ended up moving to Oxfordshire XD As much as I’d love to imagine myself as some sort of James Bond / Maverick hybrid, a crossover between Austin Powers and Biggles, is probably closer to the truth : P Cheers for the chuckle. All the best!
Amazing bird, great preview as always, and congratz to the Just Flight team!
In the 1980s whilst in the RAF, I was fortunate to fly on the Vulcans a couple of times. I have for the last 25 years aptly lived in Vulcan Village. I support the last remaining 'operational' Avro Vulcan, in Doncaster.
Awesome, John; it sounds like you are Mr Vulcan himself haha! I’m really glad the video brought back some good memories - it must have been a great time to be in the RAF! Cheers and all the best : )
Watched these flying in the 60s at the RAF Biggin Hill air shows, awesome machines 👍
Finally. The V bombers deserve to be immortalized in Flight Simulation. They’re such iconic aircraft, and sadly the real ones are slowly wearing out and retiring from flight worthy status. Maybe some day we’ll be able to use them in combat operations in DCS.
Oh my goodness!!! Your preview videos are so enticing and the way you go through the procedures makes it so realistic. Very well done Sir!! I can't wait to get a copy of this iconic aircraft. The way you present these videos makes me anticipate the next one... so please keep them coming. I learned so much from following your procedures. 👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Glad to see the Lord agrees with aviation. I knew my passion was heaven sent. Jesus is king ❤
Thank you very much for your kind words, Reverend! I always try to choose a scenario that gets me excited for recording and so, I hope / imagine that others will find the flights interesting also. Obviously, in the case of the Vulcan, it was very difficult *not* to get excited haha. I’m really glad you’re enjoying the content, all the more so if you feel you’re getting something out of the videos at the same time! My absolute pleasure and I will certainly try my best to keep the videos coming. Many thanks again and all the best : )
Truly one of my favourite Airplanes ever. Was incredibly lucky to catch the end of XH558's air show career and watched her tour round the country past the other surviving Vulcans. There is nothing like a Vulcan wing over! I can't wait to pick this up and enjoy in the sim. Thanks ITB :)
My absolute pleasure on the video Michael, thanks! Like you, I caught 558 towards the end of her flying career and for sure, it’s not a sight that I will forget in a hurry. I do hope you’re enjoying the addon! Happy flying and all the best : )
Can’t wait for this, I’m lucky enough to have had two Vulcan skippers as instructors, one was an examiner. Two old school legends certainly, a lot of respect.
That’s awesome, Jag. You can’t beat a good bit of old-school flight instruction haha! I’ll bet they had some stories to tell. . . I do hope you’re enjoying the Vulcan! Happy flying and all the best : )
I lived in Lossiemouth as a kid in the 70's and my dad would take me up to watch the planes taking off and landing from the end of the runway. They would come in almost directly over your head. It was so much fun. At the time there were Jaguars, Shackletons, Gannets, Hunters, Phantoms, Gnats, Vulcans, Victors, Nimrods and all sorts coming and going. The yearly airshow was a big event, where aircraft would come from all over Europe and the US. I remember so clearly the comforting sound of the Shackeleton droning close by as I half dozed in my bed in early morning summer light.
I’m really glad the video brought back some nice memories Richard, amazing times! British aviation was *so* much more interesting back then - it’s a real shame we don’t have that sort of home-built variety today. . . Thanks for sharing. Much appreciated and all the best! : )
An iconic aircraft reviewed by an iconic reviewer- ITB So pleased to see you’ve already got 3k views after just 3 hours, very well deserved!
Thank you very much Simon, very kind of you to say! I’m really pleased to see just how well the video has done; it’s nice to get some views on the channel of course but, I’m actually more happy that Just Flight’s efforts have (seemingly) paid off - they / the Vulcan deserve it (and hopefully this will encourage JF to recreate some more British classics for MSFS)! Many thanks for watching and all the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Just seen your reply 👍 And so good to see both the plane and video doing so well. I don’t think a lot of people appreciate how hard it is to do flight simulator videos to this standard. The radio comms take it to another level!
Haha indeed; I think that a lot of people don’t realise, 40 minutes of video, is certainly not 40 minutes of work! Still, that’s not a complaint, as I generally very much enjoy the process, especially when the flight is something like this : ) Many thanks again!
I saw this video had dropped while I was out & could hardly wait to get home to watch it. It didn't disappoint. From the opening, low-level flight teaser with the radio chatter, through the 'by the numbers' start up, flight & landing to the clear & concise overview. One of your best, I think. Kudos to Just Flight for this one. Brings back so many memories of seeing her fly at airshows. As always, thanks for all your hard work putting these videos together although, I imagine that this one was a labour of love.
Hi AS, Thanks very much, I’m really glad the video lived up to expectations! This effort was indeed a labour of love haha, although Just Flight did most of the work for me ; ) My pleasure as always on the video! The Vulcan is a legend and it’s so great to see the aircraft in MSFS (and done well). Many thanks again : )
fingers crossed we see this in DCS one day
Hi Vintage, I’d love to see more British, Cold War era jets in DCS. Personally, I think Cold War era aircraft are the most entertaining option for Eagle Dynamics’ sim. Just Flight haven’t completely ruled the Vulcan out (which is great) although, I think a Lightning, or Buccaneer, etc would be better suited to DCS overall : ) Cheers, all the best!
Your videos are so professional as in you know what you're talking about, because you've done that. Best reviews on KZhead for MS flight sim by a mile. You're narration is like hearing a pilot briefing to the cabin throughout.
Thank you very much for the kind words CG, hugely appreciated! I can only dream of flying something as awesome as the Vulcan haha but, I try and do my homework ahead of each review (and apply my real-world experience where I can). I’m really glad you’re enjoying the content to such a degree! As cheesy as it sounds, it’s always great to hear when someone enjoys a video. Cheers and all the best : )
Had my eye of this ever since I heard about its development for msfs. I'll never forget seeing this several times every year at air shows around UK, you never forget it as it use to set off every car alarm in the car park on its flypast :)
Yeah she sure was a Loud girl that's for sure.. must be one of the loudest i've heard in my life, that and the B-1..
@@ashhawk2346 I couldn't agree more. Funny you should say that because the B-1 is the other plane that comes to mind when it comes to that. I was shocked how loud it was when I saw it at Mildenhall.
Haha, like you JP, I was lucky enough to see the Vulcan fly and it’s been seared into my memory ever since (I took the train, so I didn’t have to worry about my car alarm haha). I do hope you’re enjoying the addon and reliving just a little bit of that Vulcan magic! Happy flying and all the best : )
I'm so excited for this to release. Beautifully modelled!
Another interesting, informative and entertaining episode - thanks! Those cockpit textures are wild!
Many thanks again, John! Much appreciated and I’m really glad you enjoyed the flight. Just Flight have indeed done a superb job with the texturing and really almost every aspect of the product. I’ve been enjoying the Vulcan ever since release. Thanks for watching and have a great day! : )
Many thanks again, John! Much appreciated and I’m really glad you enjoyed the flight. Just Flight have indeed done a superb job with the texturing and really almost every aspect of the product. I’ve been enjoying the Vulcan ever since release. Thanks for watching and have a great day! : )
Lots of child hood memories with this plane for me, didn’t have the bone shaking thrust noise on take off that it families for although the camera was from the nose on rather than behind - so not sure how it sounds with the thrust. Looks amazing ❤
Hi LG, I don’t have any childhood memories of the Vulcan but, I was lucky enough to see XH558 fly, I think during her last season. . . The soundset, whilst very good in many respects, unfortunately doesn’t quite capture the sheer power of those 4 Olympus engines (although, there is much more of a “rumble” from behind). Either way, Just Flight have largely knocked things out of the park with this one : ) Cheers once again!
Hello from Seattle Brilliant, just brilliant ! I have been a fan of the Vulcan after seeing it featured in the 1965 Bond film Thunderball. As a Yank, I’ve never had the chance nor sounds ever will to see a Vulcan flying in person. To have a well detailed 1950s era V Bomber featured for MSFS is exciting. I plan to buy and play soon with this bird. Your reviews are a key for me to jump start my preflight checks with minimum effort to study up The Just Flight Hawk is one of my favorite ad o a I a for MSFS Wishing you a happy Christmas 🎄
Hello Andy, Haha, happy to hear that you’re a Bond fan, as well as a fan of the Vulcan! ; ) I was lucky enough to see the Vulcan fly (only the once) and it certainly left a lasting impressing but, I think one can very easily appreciate the beauty of her design, even in pictures. It’s brilliant that we can all now experience the Vulcan, at least to some degree. Sadly, the British don’t build aircraft anymore but, at least we’re still building decent virtual ones I suppose haha. I do hope you’re enjoying the addon and that the video helped get you started. Have fun! If I don’t catch you before, a very Merry Christmas to you and yours also! Cheers : )
Excellent flight and review. The cockpit workload really is impressive. Instrument textures are very sharp and readable.
Thanks very much once again Roger, I’m really glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, the Vulcan keeps you busy haha (especially if you choose to switch back and forth between stations etc) but, that’s one of the many things that I love about it. Just Flight have done a wonderful job with the addon overall. Cheers as always and have a great day! : )
I've been waiting for this, I loved the FSX version. It's good to see that they have kept the pricing reasonable for such a huge release. Some aircraft (although good) just don't justify their price.
Absolutely, Shoestring! A very commendable move by Just Flight, keeping the price so low. A nice little early Christmas present for us and I do hope it pays off for them also (I’m sure they will have sold a lot of units). Happy flying and all the best : )
Thanks for yet another nice review. Looks really good. And surprisingly quite decent view out of the round window to the side.
Cheers Coenraad! Haha, visibility out of the Vulcan is actually a bit rubbish but, I feel that just adds to the aircraft’s charm (it almost feels as though you’re sitting in a rocket / spaceship or something haha). Either way, you can certainly see enough to get the job done. All the best : )
This looks like an incredible addition to MSFS, thanks for such a comprehensive preview.
My absolute pleasure on the video, Geoff; the Vulcan is indeed a superb addition to the sim : ) Many thanks and all the best to you!
Truly an iconic British aircraft and one of my all-time favourites! Great recreation here and hats off to ITBS for another great review. Absolutely, my favourite reviewer
Many thanks for the kind words Grae, hugely appreciated! I’m glad you felt the video more or less did the Vulcan justice; I think we can all agree that she’s an iconic machine and it’s brilliant to have such a superb recreation of the aircraft within MSFS : ) Thanks for watching and all the best!
Lossie was my home base in my military career. It was eery seeing those 2 foothills in the distance again while you were doing check lists.
Hi TSOL, It’s amazing that MSFS has such a level of visual fidelity, that it can trigger old memories etc. I’m glad that the video reminded you of good times. Thanks for watching and all the best! : )
Lossie looks so good. Interesting memories there. Awesome that you flew down Loch Ness with this old beauty.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video, LH! Thanks very much for watching and all the best : )
Greetings sir, I picked up the Vulcan last week. It s a superb rendition of an airplane from a different time. I need to rewatch your video to do a cold and dark start as I need to use the tablet cheat to get it running and ready for TO Thank you for all your videos, they are top notch source to learn a new airplane for MSFS Have a happy Christmas 🎄
Hello again, Andy, Ah great, well, I do hope you’re enjoying the old gal! It took me a while to get the Vulcan figured out also; buttons and switches everywhere, but that’s one of the aspects that I love about the aircraft haha (it almost feel more like you’re flying a spaceship than an aeroplane). Once again, my absolute pleasure on all of the videos throughout 2023! I’m really glad you continue to enjoy the content : ) I hope you and yours had a brilliant Christmas and all the best for 2024 (if I didn’t say it already haha)!
Thank you for explaining the different engines, appreciated, buying it regardless. Thank you, nice landing by the way.
Brilliant..such wonderful detail on this detailed FightSim
I think it was in 2015, but I witnessed the Avro Vulcan fly for the last time at Waddington Air show. By far the coolest plane that was there!
Very cool, Damian. I was lucky enough to get to see the Vulcan fly also. So sad that she’s now grounded (again) but, at least we have the chance to enjoy the aircraft in the sim : ) All the best!
Fantastic video mate, knew you would bring that Vulcan to your Channel as soon as it was available 💪🏻
Thanks very much, Wulfkai! Haha, absolutely! I’ve been eagerly awaiting the Vulcan since Just Flight announced it and I said “yes” to a preview video, as soon as I saw the email haha. This sort of thing is right up my street and probably some of the most fun I’ve had in MSFS to date ; ) Cheers again and all the best! : )
I recently acquired this product and I don't think one dime of mine was spent in vain. What a fantastic rendition of this marvelous and legendary aircraft...but WOW are those engines thirsty at low altitude (3000 + a MINUTE (not an hour like I stupidly thought which resulted in a ..."mid air" refueling :P during a flight from Calgary to San Diego). The sounds and systems modeling is so very impressive, and on my AMD Phenom II platform, everything runs (unlike the AN 225, and PMDG DC-4, which have some X box code that won't run on my old Phenom). Highly recommend this product.
VERY glad JustFlight gave you first crack at a demo flight! The trip down the Loch was great :) The price is extraordinarily reasonable, particularly relative to the X-Plane/P3D pricing. I truly hope JF are richly rewarded in very high unit sales for this addon! I'll be adding my own $$ to their account - lookin forward to flying it myself. I hope you'll be able to show us further inspirational routes in this Hi Fi classic :)
Haha well, I don’t know that Just Flight ‘intentionally’ gave me first crack but, I’d put in a little practice (with the P3D version of the addon) ahead of time and hit the ground running as soon as they sent over the preview version. I set to work at the crack of dawn and published about 20 mins before I went away on travels for the weekend haha XD I was VERY much looking forward to the Vulcan (hence my keenness to get a video out) and Just Flight absolutely delivered. Hats off to them on the pricing also! As you say, I do hope they are rewarded with a massive number of aircraft sold. The Mach loop run was predictable but, “necessary” haha. I’ll definitely be having some more fun with the mighty Vulcan in the future though ; ) I do hope you’re enjoying the addon! Happy flying and all the best : )
I haven't even watched this yet, but I know it's going to be excellent. ITBS +Just Flight+Vulcan...it doesn't get any better.
Haha! Well, thanks very much Paul, very kind of you to say. I do hope that the video (and indeed the Vulcan) didn’t disappoint! Cheers : )
What a video man! You combined a great aircraft with a wonderful part of Scotland. Been to Inverness, loved it there.
Thank you very much SimPicks, I’m really glad you enjoyed the flight! You can’t go too wrong flying over Scotland and certainly not in an Avro Vulcan haha ; ) I haven’t been to Inverness myself but, there are certainly many parts of Scotland that are absolutely stunning. I’m glad the video brought back some nice memories : ) Cheers and all the best!
I love this Aircraft , it's amazing . This already looks great and I will be purchasing as soon as it's on sale . Thank you for the video
My pleasure on the video, Nathan! I do hope you’re enjoying the Vulcan. Happy flying and all the best : )
If I ever needed to justify upgrading to a £4000 Gaming PC 😛 I’m 54 years old, that’s *all* the justification required. Awesome flight model; the sound of the engines on this bird really *felt* as powerful as they sounded - sadly never going to feel them again now though. That is the most incredible level of detail I have ever seen - I hope it’s as nice to fly as it is to drool over. The level of realism afforded now compared to 30 years ago is phenomenal - it really does help with the immersive experience, although I recall feeling the same level of awe from the 747-400 Queen Of The Skies on MSFS A Century of Flight with UK Scenery and Terrain Mesh - I think there were more than 20 CD’s to map just the UK with realistic Airport’s, Terrain mapping and Satellite Scenery down to 2m per pixel - I flew London Heathrow to Liverpool John Lennon following just the arterial roads - now look at it, you can fly it following public footpath’s!
There's a Vulcan at the Solway Air Museum in the borders just North of Carlisle. They do guided tours of the cockpit and it's fantastic fun. This is the next best thing.
Oooh this looks absolutely fabulous. Always loved the Vulcan, and indeed the "V" bomber fleet. I wonder if the Valiant, and Victor are also on the slate to be made for MSFS 2020. I do wish they would get the Olympus howl simulated, they came close but that characteristic whine/howl of the Vulcan is one of those things that needs preservation. That said though, this addition for the sim is positively wonderful.
Later aircraft were fitted with 301 variants of the Olympus which didn't exhibit the howl. Rest assured the howl will be present on the 201 variant which is also included as part of the pack. John - Just Flight
@@hodgeheg480 Oh, very good to learn. I will definitely be adding this to my fleet when it is done.
Beautiful! Some eagle eyed viewers will note that the radio audio at the beginning is taken from the Tornado GR1 recruitment video from the early 80’s 😊
Pretty sure that the audio from the middle of the video is from a Harrier GR7 HUD tape. kzhead.info/sun/h62vcayraWebo4k/bejne.html
@@bend1483 what a fantastic video mate. Thanks for the share 👍🏻
Cheers, Wilber! Haha, you chaps have good ears - spot on re the audio (both are excellent vids)! ; ) Thanks for watching and all the best : )
Great video and kudos to Just Flight for simulating the complexity of this aircraft. Commenting on the actual airplane: such an ergonomic disaster for the design of the cockpit, in terms of similar systems being spread out amongst three crew positions. It's almost like the engineers finished the aircraft control and systems designs and said " We'll just find a space that's still available for the indications and switches." Still, it will be a lot of fun to learn!
Thanks very much, John! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and Just Flight have indeed done a great job with the aircraft. Haha well, she is of British design so, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that’s how the design process went down! XD To be fair though, that’s actually one of the reasons I love the aircraft - it’s an interesting pit. Happy flying, all the best : )
So looking forward to this release! I had this model in my room as a kid, along with the Corsair, F-16, Starfighter and MIG-21. Have them all in the sim now - except I haven't bought the MIG yet, based on your review/high price, but hope the price drops or they make the product actually worth it. Your reviews are the most in-depth and brutally honest, keep them coming!
Haha, very nice, Hoover! It’s amazing what sticks in your memory from childhood (I still have an affinity for all of the models that I used to own); I never would have dreamed that I would get to “fly” all of these aircraft in such amazing detail! I feel like you have to get the MiG, just to complete the collection haha (but yeah, the addon is overpriced for what it is and sadly, I think the dev is Ukrainian-based so, understandably, development seems to have halted). Thanks very much for the kind words! Happy flying and all the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations The Mig was on 50% off, fantasy achieved lol!
Haha, nice! Enjoy : )
Grew up in Forres walking distance from Raf Kinloss, where i was on the airbase as a kid quite often with serving relatives, was chuffed to see how accurate the sim has depicted Findhorn bay and culban forest.
Awesome, Alex. MSFS does generally do a good job at replicating planet Earth - I’m glad the video brought back some nice memories : ) Cheers, all the best!
Incredible module! Would appreciate it in DCS
It would indeed be lovely to see the Vulcan in DCS, Skywarp. Although, I can think of a number of Cold War era British Jets, that would probably fit into Eagle Dynamics’ sim a bit better, the Vulcan is a bit of a “one-trick-pony after all (I would love to see a Lightning, Buccaneer, Jaguar etc). Cheers, all the best! : )
Thanks for the review, this is one I have been looking forward to for a long time. It’s looking great 😎
You’re most welcome, Peter! I dare say, the Vulcan will have been well worth the wait? I do hope you’re enjoying the addon as much as I have been : ) All the best!
that looks FAB!!! Love the vulcan since seeing it in the RAF vulcan display team at RAF Abingdon. Been lucky enough to fly the real cockpit simulator too, so this is one I will happily buy.
That’s awesome, Simon! I did see some vids of the Vulcan sim and wondered how readily I might be able to organise some sort of visit (I think it could make for an excellent / fascinating video). I haven’t looked into any of it yet though. I’m sure it was a superb experience! I do hope you’re enjoying the addon. Happy flying and all the best : )
The real question is does it howl? If you can't hear the iconic howl then it's a no go for me! Thanks for the stellar review IBS!
This preview build features only the Olympus 301 engine sounds, which we recorded from a real Vulcan (XM655). The 301s didn't have the significant howl sounds that the 201s fitted to XH558 did, so this is true to life. The release build will include both 201 and 301 sounds, including the howl.
@@justflight Yes! Lovely!
Hello Tbmdd, As pointed out by Just Flight, the pre-release version of the aircraft only included a soundset for the Olympus 301 engines (which apparently, did not exhibit much of a howl on takeoff). A 201 variant / soundset has been included with the release package and the Vulcan “howls” as she should: kzhead.info/sun/oa-lY76onqOdnIE/bejne.htmlsi=QMk0EIqqKj6xSO9L All the best : )
Just need a Nimrod now and I won't need any more aircraft! I would love to see this in DCS too, hopefully the developers could look into it.
As mentioned in the thread we'd like that too but we're not DCS developers and don't have the capacity. If we could find a team to do that we'd happily look into working with them on the project
@@justflight Please make it happen, I very much suspect it would be an total commercial success!
@@justflight maybe worth chatting with Razbam, Heatblur, or another third party developer to see if you can reach an agreement on joint development, after all, all your work would be worth a lot toward making a DCS Module.
Hi Maegester, I’d love to see more British, Cold War era jets in DCS, or MSFS. Personally, I think Cold War era aircraft are the most entertaining option for Eagle Dynamics’ sim (and some of the most interesting for any sim). It’s great that Just Flight haven’t completely ruled the Vulcan out (fingers crossed) although, I think a Lightning, or Buccaneer, etc would be better suited to DCS overall (with the Vulcan being a bit limited in what it can do on a typical DCS map : ) Cheers, all the best!
Highly entertaining, changes may have occurred but we used to take off on QFE (in UK) and change to standard altimeter setting in the climb at 3000 feet (in UK).
Thank you very much Laurie, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Was that a RAF procedure? I went the commercial route myself so, it was just force of habit to stay on QNH. Cheers and all the best to you : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations oh, that may be the case! Very much enjoyed the flight and an excellent chance to see what the crew were working with.
Always my favourite at air shows A must purchase
If they made this for DCS I'd buy without a second thought.
Hi Bill, I’d love to see more British, Cold War era jets in DCS, generally.
This is a definite beauty, but one thing i would love to see (probably won't happen) would be the Boeing YC-14. It was an experimental STOL aircraft that was supposed to replace the C-130 back in the 70s. Only reason why it failed is because it was too advanced for it's time (and the higher ups had stock in its competitor even though it also failed), imagine flying a place as big as a c-130 that could potentially do barrel rolls.
Haha. I’d never come across the YC-14 before - that’s a pretty funky looking aeroplane! It looks like they took the fuselage of a C130, stuck the tail of a C17 on it and then threw some engines on top of the wing XD I’d definitely be intrigued to see one of those things do a barrel roll! Cheers, all the best : )
Looks like an amazing aircraft, only thing missing for me is the "vulcan howl" on the external shots. great video
This preview build features only the Olympus 301 engine sounds, which we recorded from a real Vulcan (XM655). The 301s didn't have the significant howl sounds that the 201s fitted to XH558 did, so this is true to life. The release build will include both 201 and 301 sounds, including the howl. Martyn - Just Flight
Hello Steve, As pointed out by Just Flight, the pre-release version of the aircraft only included a soundset for the Olympus 301 engines (which apparently, did not exhibit much of a howl on takeoff). A 201 variant / soundset has been included with the release package and the Vulcan “howls” as she should: kzhead.info/sun/oa-lY76onqOdnIE/bejne.htmlsi=QMk0EIqqKj6xSO9L All the best : )
Oh Lordy ! What a great Aircraft the Mighty Vulcan is 🙏🏻 Excellent review ! As always Top Class ! Iconic in every Way ! This is going in my hanger 👍🙏🏻✈️👨✈️
Haha, thanks very much Lee. I’m really glad you enjoyed the video again! The Vulcan is indeed completely iconic - I do hope you’re enjoying the addon! Happy flying and all the best : )
bravo! That plane is complicated but you nailed it. You are the best. Thank you so much. Great review
Thank you very much for the kind words, Donald! Haha, the Vulcan does take a bit of getting used to, with its scattergun systems layout - very British haha. It’s a very rewarding and interesting aircraft to learn though (and figuring out new addons, has long been one of my favourite aspects of simming). My absolute pleasure on the video! Thanks very much for watching and all the best : )
Great video. My dad worked on vulcans at Woodford. And helped restore XM603 which is at the museum at the old factory site. Will definitely be getting this. However did miss the famous vulcan howl as you took off. I really hope they sort that out as it's such a iconic Parton the airctaft

Martyn - Just Flight
The build uses the Olympus 301 engines, which didn't howl. Only Vulcan B.2s with the revised intake design and Olympus 201 engines made the famous howl sound, which ends up being just 43 of the 136 Vulcans built. I think because the most viewed Vulcan, XH558, was one of these 43, it's often assumed all Vulcans made the sound.
Thanks very much, Michael! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video, all the more so if it brought back some good memories. I do hope you’re enjoying the Vulcan and indeed, the Olympus 201 variant does feature that iconic howl : ) Happy flying and all the best!
You speak like a pilot/instructor. Adds even more realism :) Brilliant graphics!
Haha, cheers Peter! I’m glad the commentary ramps up the immersion for you that little bit more and that you’re enjoying the visuals of the sim also. Many thanks and all the best! : )
Shame i can only give one "like"!... Having seen this girl fly in real life, and do her spectacular routine above the grounds of the Goodwood Revival, and making car alarms go off in the car park, this is very welcome flightsim news. Now, to watch your review... i just know your review is going to be epic, just wondering if she will really be as spectacular as the thumbnail that got me all giggity. :) Have an epic day, itbs! Edit, so glad to hear and see she does not let anything down but the gear upon landing!
Thanks very much, Frankenstein! I’ll take the like, even if it is just the one haha ; ) I was lucky enough to see the Vulcan fly also; a real travesty that she’s no longer airworthy but, at least (thanks to Just Flight) we can all still experience her in some small way. I had high hopes for the Vulcan and Just Flight exceeded them! I hope you have an awesome day as well! Cheers again. Happy flying and all the best : )
Another great vid fella. Many thanks.
Thanks very much Andy, very kind! Much appreciated and a particular pleasure for me in this case. All the best : )
the vulcan will allways hold a special place in my heart
I still fly the Vulcan almost every day in X-Pane 12. just tweaked a couple things in Plane Maker. (to make the Bombs and landing gear visible). They would actually work because you could see them explode when they hit the ground but they wouldn't show up visually in XP-12 . Otherwise everything works, awesome plane. Love the Vulcan Roar on takeoff. Just an awesome piece of 50 Technology. I'm making a cool movie with the Vulcan, the C17, the IL7, the C130 and the B1 Bomber. Hopefully it won't take more than a couple more months.
Ah, that’s very cool DBV; I did give the Vulcan a quick go in X-Plane 12 when the sim released but, didn’t have much joy myself (and I’m not at all familiar with Plane Maker). It would be great if Just Flight could update the Vulcan for XP also. Best of luck with the movie. Feel free to send a link my way when it’s done, I’d be keen to take a look : ) Cheers and all the best!
Great preveiw and video as usual love the added radio chatter brilliant! One thing they said was going to be in it was the vulcan Howl from the engines. I wA waiting for that in the video on the external veiw. Think I may just hang myself now!!

@justflight thank god for that thanks for the reply. Will they both release on xbox next week??
No they won't. PC Version first and then when we're happy with the build and release it'll be sent to MS for marketplace inclusion. Could be a while off to be honest as we have no input into their testing and validation process.

Always a pleasure to watch your vids dude great work and one of the best out there!
If a real pilot loves it, we all will love it. Thank you. Great times ahead for the sim.
Well, I certainly hope so, Yoda! (I don’t know that my flying counts for all that much, when it comes to the Vulcan haha but, I try and assess things based on my real-world experiences and certainly, also base my reviews off what I personally enjoy as a simmer : ) My pleasure. Thanks very much and all the best!
Amazing cinematography!
Thank you very much Monacos, very kind of you to say! Much appreciated and all the best to you : )
A family friend flew XH558, he'd regularly fly it over our school at low level :)
Haha, very cool, John! I’m glad the video brought back some good memories. Thanks for watching and all the best : )
OMG this is amazing!
Great video - looks like a lot of fun to fly!
Thanks very much AA, I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! The Vulcan is indeed a complete blast and it’s nice to fly something a little bit different as well. Cheers and all the best! : )
Very first thing I hear, audio from the 1985 COI film for RAF Recruitment on the Tornado... and then a later on, the stuff around 31 minutes, audio from a tour of Scotland from a Harrier GR7 sourced from Harrier: The Vertical Reality.
Haha, correct sir, good spot! Clearly you’re a man of refined tastes ; ) Cheers, all the best!
Another fantastic review, thanks. Looks like Just Flight have hit the mark again with this one, definite buy for me.
Thanks very much once again PM! I’m glad you enjoyed the video, my pleasure as always (even more so in this particular case haha). Just Flight really have produced a work of art with the Vulcan, I do hope you’re enjoying the addon! Happy flying and all the best : )
Another excellent review by ITBS! Lovely aircraft although i didn't hear much of the Vulcan 'howl' on the take off run!

My pleasure, Lennart! I do hope you’re enjoying the Vulcan : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations yes, I do! Great plane to fly
Stunning MSFS
Nice flight bro, can tell you have a lot experience doing this cuz i dont know whats going on in these operations
Thanks very much Aderin, I’m really glad you enjoyed the flight! Haha yes, the Vulcan is a particular complex bird, to be fair; it took quite a bit of practice / time with the manuals, in order to really get familiar with the aircraft : ) Much appreciated and all the best to you!
What a great video!
Thanks very much EWF, I’m really glad you enjoyed it! : ) All the best!
I was lucky enough as a kid to sit in the cockpit of a Vulcan. They're tiny inside.
I was able to get up close to all the Vulcan's that were parked up after they ended service at RAF St Athens the display there the Vulcan howl would shake the hangers it was amazing
That must have been quite a sight, Raymond! I’m glad the video brought back some nice memories : ) All the best!
There's one of these parked up at my local airport Southend
Quality, a gotta have. Thanks muchly again 👍
You’re most welcome, CP! I gather Just Flight are using the PC release to iron out any bugs etc and the aircraft will then be released to the Marketplace / console thereafter ; ) Cheers!
great flight to watch.
Thanks very much, PG! I’m really glad you enjoyed it : )
Wow IBS ... that is massive 😁 Dash looks very similar to the B17...
Wow that screenshot @0:44 is C R I S P 😊
Love this ❤
Yes Loch Lochy is the best demonstration of laziness in naming. 😂 it’s up there with the Forrest of “ Ae” you fly over our Holiday home 👍 Fort Augustus could do with more detail and has a few things wrong. Hope they do the Vulcan with a tail number for this new 2024 version.
Haha well, I’m happy it wasn’t just me misreading the chart anyway XD That wouldn’t be the worst way to have the tranquility of your holiday ruined - having 4 Olympus engines go roaring over! I’m glad that the scenery was familiar; it certainly looks like a beautiful spot in which to have a holiday home : ) Cheers and all the best!
this looks excellent and a brilliant route I want to try in my fast jets too
The Vulcan is excellent and the route is indeed well worth a try, Matty; a nice quick run, with some really beautiful scenery along the way. I do hope you enjoy the flight! Cheers and all the best : )
I wish just flight would make combat modules for DCS World. They need to bring this one to the other side
That'd mean working with ED....*the horror*

loving this, one thing is defo missing from it.... the famous "Vulcan Howl" when engines are at max throttle. hopefully they implement that in the final release
It's there on the 200 series engined aircraft, but the 301 engines (as in XM655) don't howl. More of a roar with them.

@IntotheBlueSimulations yeah I realized that after I commented and people replied. Saw your newest vid with the howl in full display. They have definitely put the work in with it
been in the cockpit of a real one ,,,,experience was great
Pure art guys...
Man I love this thing!
Have you had the experience of standing under the wing of one of these? The term "Aluminium overcast" is very fitting. All you see is wing and hull when standing under the middle of the plane.
I have Pythos, a couple of times. I was fairly young at the time and my overriding memory, is being “engulfed” by the airframe haha. I also remember spending a good 30 mins, just staring into the rear cockpit section and it’s wall of instruments with fascination (and feeling a morbid curiosity that the pilots has ejection seats, whilst the rest of the crew did not). The Vulcan is a legend and it’s great to see the aircraft in MSFS! : ) Cheers!
@@IntotheBlueSimulationsYea, that ejection seat design was....cringe, to say the least.
Nice to see the old bird back in the skies be it on Microsoft?Asobo, Flight Simulator all the better. I have her myself but you are the captain, here. Nice job, Cpt. The old plane looks fantastic & the sound is all working well. I would swear is better than some documentaries, not to mention, of course, just a thought and full marks, here. Great to see your masterpiece of simulation as always, nice model. Slainte, {ForgotYourNameSorry} God bless, Buddy
I own the P3D version already and still fly P3D regularly. This MSFS version .....wow, the immediate impression is very positive and it seems JF have really delivered here. My expectation is that this product will be fully compatible with the future MSFS2024 also. I'll be looking for that confirmation before I buy. That said, the pricing is very reasonable , kudos JF. Great review video as ever.
Microsoft said that 2020 addons will work with 2024
Already been noted somewhere that the tail brake chute will benefit from 2024's improvements, so yes!
Hi Jack, Delta558 is a member of the Just Flight team so, it looks like that’s an “affirm” on MSFS 2024 compatibility : ) I’m really glad you enjoyed the review. Thanks very much for watching and all the best!
In the former RAF kinloss you can see the Nimrod bomber
