Also the 1.5L-T engine is horrible for city only driving as it does not warm up enough to burn off the fuel that is getting into the oil via the DIT. That is why Honda integrated the exhaust manifold into the head, to try to mitigate but still seeing engine failures for those who do not regularly drive long highway distances.

They may be similar in footprint but the ADX would be shorter than the RDX. It is similar to the new Toyota 4-Runner being similar length and width to the Land Cruiser, but the Landcruiser is over 5 inches taller.

  • This will likely be an upsized Euro HRV with versions of the 2.0T/10AT combo considering this is an SUV. It's more favorable to have the CRV 106.3" wheelbase, since they've said it won't be based on any production model.

    @phild8602@phild8602Ай бұрын
    • Nope. There's not enough room for the 2.0t/10AT and the pricepoint for the ADX will be too low. It'll be ZRV (North American HRV) based, not Euro HRV. The Euro HRV is based on the Fit/Jazz platform which isn't produced in North America any longer and its suspension set-up isn't suited to our driving needs here.

      @chrissetina1107@chrissetina1107Ай бұрын
    • @chrissetina1107 What price point are you referring to? This won't be below $35K starting price as people keep wishing/hoping, since every model this is going to compete against starts at near $40k or higher, unless you're counting Buicks, which means the ADX will be closer to $38K to keep it under. You could get 2.0T/10AT Accords cheaper and the transmission/engine costs are spread over several models. Which premium brands besides Buick can you find a CVT in an SUV? I'll wait...🤔🤔🤔

      @phild8602@phild8602Ай бұрын
    • @phild8602 the Lexus UX had a CVT before it went all hybrid. Infiniti QX50 and QX55 still use CVTs (they're a pretty stubborn brand that won't ditch CVTs).

    • @damilolaakanni None of which are top sellers and the QX twins are more aligned with premium compacts (RDX, GLC, X3, etc.), so they don't count--QX30 would have been more appropriate comparison. In any case, as I mentioned the top sellers XT4 and GLB (9AT and 8DCT, respectively) are more along the lines of what Acura will do, since Acura makes all its models on the larger side of any category. Secondly, using the ADX name allows them distance from any previous or current models. The Integra has always been a Civic, so people think that any model Acura makes has to share a direct platform which is no longer the case (TLX and RDX). The platform is shared with Civic/Integra, HRV and CRV, so scaling it isn't an issue. Lastly, when I spoke of upsized Euro HRV, I was talking about its design (coupish) chunky look because it fits more inline with Acura philosophy.

Will buy a 2.0L-T QX30 instead, which is the only Japanese AWD, hot hatch in existence. I do not like the MBZ GLA styling at all. Golf R looks like a cardboard box on shopping cart wheels.
