  • I tried the STO spec on the rear of my 991 carrera and I prefer them in almost every way to a cup 2. IMO aside from inital heat up they are better for track days than the cup 2 in all other ways.

  • The track looks very fun and so does the NSX, but I'm afraid it doesn't look like a $250k fun. These cars look great, they're not over the top, but the price is a killer. Can't deny that it looks phenomenal in yellow.

  • I feel like that says something about the car if it's not giving you confidence😬 Edit: You said towards the end the tires were getting greasy so, maybe just the tires?

    @sewshiestrip@sewshiestrip7 ай бұрын
    • Tires were fine and actually hung on longer than expected before getting greasy. Brakes on nsx are unsettling. They work every time but the application feels uncomfortable as it moves from regen into the pads. The peddle feels disconnected so you don’t get a tactile feel of what’s happening.

      @TedwardDrives@TedwardDrives7 ай бұрын
    • @TedwardDrives I never considered how regen would feel on a track. It's good to know that the future of supercars won't be boring!

  • Any classic car you would want to drive on a racetrack? It would be cool to see you drive a E30 M3 DTM or a 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II DTM racecar.

  • Legitimately curious, how do you get invited to an event like this? Is it possible for a layperson to be invited?

    @ixlmlxi@ixlmlxi7 ай бұрын

  • Why didn't you paddle shift it and wring out the motor? I agree about the brakes tho, worst part of the new nsx..no feel... It's like on or off.

    @leemiks@leemiks7 ай бұрын
    • Because they were lead follow laps and I’m just allowed to follow the instructor. Plus there’s really no need to use paddle shifters. The transmission is smart enough and has plenty of torque. Would have been silly to use them here.

      @TedwardDrives@TedwardDrivesАй бұрын
  • I wouldn't even bother buying those tires. If you're going to a track day, just buy proper racing tires that can handle the forces on a track. It looks like those Potenzas will get chewed up quickly and probably will degrade probably faster than a race tire. Looks decent for enthusiastic road driving, but fairly pointless for a track day.

    @rsoxboy@rsoxboy7 ай бұрын
  • Of course you are going to say Potenza is good for NSX, why? because they are sponsoring the event

    @zzzzzsleeping@zzzzzsleeping7 ай бұрын
  • If only they offered the NSX with a 5 or 6 speed manual transmission with a proper gated shifter. Not only is shifting and using a clutch a ton of fun, it “connects” you to the car. It always looks bizarre seeing a sports car with buttons where the shift should be. True, these modern automatics are very fast, but are 2 second 0-60 mph times really necessary to enjoy driving a fast car fast? Give me a 1990’s Acura NSX with a stick on a sunny, deserted mountain road in California for maximum fun!

    @Mike-rk8px@Mike-rk8px7 ай бұрын
    • Agree. Although slower id much rather have an old NSX with the manual. An automatic hybrid turbo car doesnt het the blood going.

    • its the "new sports experience", not the 1999 sports experience. if the nsx was offered in multiple power levels like the 911, I could see it work, but for this supercar powertrain, the Dual clutch suits it better

    • Yeah, modern cars can suck it. Performance numbers mean absolutely nothing to me given the sacrifice of driver involvement & visceral rawness. Half (or possibly all) of the tech & engineering in modern performance cars is to hide/compensate for them all being bloated pigs along with provide 10,796 nannies so that rich idiots who have 0% driving skill don't instantly die.
