In this video, I will show restoration and preservation of the German Medal Crimea Shield from the World War II. This Crimea Shield has been in the ground for 78 years.
The Crimea Shield (German: Krimschild) was a World War II German military decoration. It was awarded to military personnel under the command of Field Marshal von Manstein, including supporting naval and air force units, who fought against Soviet Red Army forces between 21 September 1941 and 4 July 1942 and who captured the Crimea region (Krim in German). It was instituted on 25 July 1942. It was the most widely distributed of the various German campaign shields, with approximately 250,000 awarded.
The Crimea Shield could be awarded to all members of the Wehrmacht and to Luftwaffe and other units affiliated to the campaign between 21 September 1941 and 4 July 1942. The following conditions needed to have been met for the award:
-served in the area for at least 90 days; or
-been wounded while serving in the area; or
-been engaged in at least one major operation against the enemy.
Romanian troops serving in the Crimea were also eligible.

Amazing badge! This particular one was made by the firm Wilhelm Deumer from Lüdenscheid, Germany. A firm which is still in operation to this day! Thought it would be fun to know and to provide some further info.
Thank you!
Job well done again. I really had doubts on this one, but there it is. That's one really neat piece ya got there.

Where do you find these artifacts? And where did you learn to restore things? Great work by the way
Outstanding.
I'm glad you liked it
Cool piece
Perfekt.
Hi im from Poland and im proud of found that Channel in all KZhead! Greetings for You and all peoples here!

He isn't restoring an entire plane
@@Seft2_ He could make two videos out of it lol.
@@Ekatjam but how exactly would he get the plane
@@Seft2_ It's called "Sarcasm"
Great Work! What is that yellow liquid you dip the shield in at the beginning?
This channel is underrated
Very impressive🙂

WoW Nice 👍🏻
Great Job. I have a nice Winterschlacht Badge in the same condition... Challenge accepted. 😃
When do you think restoring your electrical plate, LOL ?😁😁😁 Really good job, as always. 👍🏻×10 000+🍺
The Crimea campaign was brutal for German and Russian soldiers alike. This is not just a piece of metal, someone won this and survived. Now you are paying homage to their memory and respecting their sacrifices - again a big congrats!
Wunderbar!
Respect, you re a chemical specialist, too
The final result is espectacular
For me badge is made by Deumer. Nice ground dug Krim.
Is it supposed to be tarnished like that when it was new it looks like you didn't finish cleaning it ?
Held a full one in top condition a heavy shoulder badge and worth a few £s .
Deep respect 6pat! 💪💪💪💪
Could you show your collection of restored relics that would be awesome
I'll probably make an account on Patreon and put this video out there.
@@wwiituberestoration1011 I would really welcome the opportunity to see you other restored relics - I notice you had a Mortar case in the back ground which would ne very nice to see how you restored it - metal cases I find difficult to deal with without damaging paint and decals. Swamp finds often have blistered paint or hard sediment which I struggle to deal with - you help would be very welcome
Thank you for your support. A few videos later I will do the restoration of this box
GOOD JOB not easy it s very long but it s good
It is well done, but it isn't a restoration. Restoration means to return someting, usually an item, to former glory or better. This is a preservation. Well done nonetheless.
Keren good from indonesia 🇲🇨👍
👍👍❤Video does not continue,does not complete?🤔

Complete with a depiction of the main waterway of the area: The Crimea River! 😈
👍👍
I hope this badge did not come from a soldier in his grave.
Most of the items you see in this condition that you see on eBay are dug up by grave robbers looking through battlefields in Ukraine , Russia, Poland etc etc , that's why when I was collecting I never bought this stuff , I can't speak for this particular item
this time without soldering and filler ?
Infelizmente não tem legenda em português!
This is Krim shield. Very battle Germany wehrmacht (Erich von Manstein) vs. soviet red army.
A microcry-staline wax to repair a WW2 medal... :)
bro i thought the thumbnail was a chunk of steak
:)
Will this cleaning method work with all shields? I have Demyansk, its dead and crumbling :)
I think yes. But any restoration is always an individual approach.
I have a rivet from a Panzer tank if you're interested.
Yes, it is zinc alloy

0:08 It’s made of zinc and coated with bronze. -How can you tell by looking at that? This is probably a fake restoration, but let’s watch anyway.
Czeba było to cacko elektrolize przeprowadzić i było by lepiej
How can u restore such stuff who has dark history 😢
As you can see, he uses tools and chemicals to restore such stuff.
@@jensmaul6749 , as u can see its impossible to restore the dark history behind it. and i not surprised ,for ur radical mentality.

Too far gone. Pity. Good work nonetheless.
Ser gut, zip file
Silk purse from a pigs ear. 👍
Awesome can you report me in my office of resurrection of restoration bounty Hunters mission intelligence group of Mafia here the address metro Manila Philippines come and i give you a special mission to restore the samurai of Ferdinand Magellan year 1870's

German stole a lot in other countries within 2ww
Just a piece of scrap 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Shame on you
