Lucifer's "More than Anything" song, notice the part when those arrows of light were pointed at him, he had a look of acceptance, when they were pointed at Charlie, his eyes widened and he pulled her towards him so that he would take the brunt. Not only that, it was sort of a light coming from "heaven" shining through the windows, he kept her in the darkness so they wouldn't touch her.
And when his eyes widen they widen in fear :(

To be fair in the show Lucifer isn’t the literal embodiment of sin and evil. He was just a rebel who brought sin and evil to humanity and was massively punished for it
The embodiment of evil in this show is actually a different being we are supposed to meet later down the line. You see her in the first shot smiling when they first explain what heaven is to the side
