I have thick 4c hair. I sectioned my hair blew out medium size pieces on high. My hair was dried so quickly that I didn't feel the heat on the handle. Plus I turned it off as I put away the dried parts. I love this dryer. It was lightweight and my arms didn't get tired. I didn't even have to really de-tangle my hair. The brush did it as it was drying my hair. Super easy and quick.

I’m in love with this hair dryer! So much better than using the tension method or using the comb with the blow dryer. I also used this to trim and to prep my hair for braids ☺️☺️ I started off with cold to get rid of most of the water in my hair and then switched to high. I blasted with cool air once I finished. I was able to get my roots really good, you’re supposed to use it vertically, not horizontally which is why you couldn’t get the roots well. I also didn’t have a problem with it overheating, I cut the hair dryer off after i finished each section
i turned it off after each section as well.

😂😂😂😂 I stick 2 my RED detangler dryer. It wrks jus as gud. Alot uv us get trapped or shud i say easily drawn n2 all these trends n styling tools. They know we gonna b quick 2 hand them muny. But to each is own. I'm gud tho.

I got this brush recently and I've used it twice so far and I love it. I start out on cool and then go to warm and it gets my hair pretty stretched. I have a mix of type 4 hair, very thick and this works very well for me cutting dry time in half.

This blowdryer changed my whole life. I actually took the first one I got back to Target because I thought it was overheating. I just use a thermal glove that came with a flat iron I bought a few years ago and keep on drying.
I asked for and got this for Christmas! Can't wait to start using it!

Thx for the review. I actually bought the same model, but had to return it because I felt it was too big for my hands. Didn't notice how hot it got because I was frustrated with the size....I think it's one of those things that works for some but not all. I'd luv to see you show us a vid where you're clipping your ends first, and then style. TFS and God Bless!
I have 4A-4B hair and I also love this blow dryer. I use it in low with just a heat protectant on my hair - and After I do a light moisturize and seal.

it is only 1000 watts which is less then most blow dryers and it has ionic technology.
I love it! It’s the best. I don’t even need to flat iron my hair after using this hair drying and it’s fast. I always use a heat protectant. Since the shelter in place, I haven’t used the dryer, but I’ve allowed my hair to air dry. I’ll add a photo it I can.

I used this yesterday to blow out my hair which is 4c and pretty thick. It cut my blow dry time significantly, I did my whole head in about 45 minutes which is way shorter than my usual tension method/brush arrangement. I do think there's a lot of potential for breakage if you're not careful, but that's any brush. To keep it form getting too hot and also to help with the sheen and softness of my hair, I did a pass of cool air on each section after getting it dry.
Thanks for sharing. If i buy this i will see if my flat iron glove will help protect my hand from the heat.

I hated that too... or a comb would break and then you'd worry about it splitting your ends. Or the comb attachment would break and then getting a replacement was always difficult. I haven't had that trouble with this since the comb isn't an attachment. Separate your hair into parts and dry it in sections. Then go back over the whole thing at the end. I have medium density hair so I usually separate mine into 4 then 2. You might have to do 4 then 3/4.

My old hairstylist use this on me and I loved it. Maybe will use it on wash days since my hair gets super tight and is super coarse thick hair.
I’ve tried it out and yes the top gets quite hot. I use a dry washcloth to hold it while I use it in my hair. that helps tremendously.

Wonderful review! You should consider getting a heat resistant glove to use the next time. Most people use them for curling wands, but I'm sure it will work the same.

Beautiful natural hair! I order the one step from Amazon for my daughter and it's a game changer for us! Use to take a hour to blow dry her hair. Now it only takes 30 minutes. I have a glove sometimes I use if it gets to hot. I usually cut the dryer off when doing sections and I don't have problems with it overheating. Best blow dryer I have purchased! 🤗

I have it and used it once. I used the low setting and still found it really hot. I will never go up to high, I'm sure it will fry my hair. My hair is very similar to yours in terms of texture and thickness. Low take a little more time probably but gave me your results after a couple of passes. It does an excellent job. I will not use a regular blow dryer anymore!

NaturallyTheresa does the Philips one also only have heat coming from the top, or is it evenly distributed through the brush? I have the Revlon one and my biggest problem with it is that the heat only pushed out through the top holes.

They have heat gloves for blow dryers. I forgot what blow dryer i purchased, but it really helps to look into that. I have to use heat gloves for any blow dryer with my hair. I love this video. I will follow and subscribe. 😍
I was wondering if you was going to try it out because you have such thick hair. I purchase it myself and it shortened my drying time which I love. I am not good at using a blow dryer bush so this helps a lot. Good review!!!
This is a great product. I used both medium and high heat setting. My curls are intact.

Picked up a similar brush by ‘hot shot tools’ at Sally’s that works great. It costs a little bit more, but I have 4a/4b thick hair and have not had to use the highest setting yet.
I like my comb blow dryer (not the attachment comb) an actual comb dryer and I just use the cool shots every couple seconds .i do this when prepping for braiding or trimming so not often

great review you talked about things that no one else have talked about and i've watch 10+ reviews from well known vlogers so good job dont think I'll be getting that one and i have small hands.....but it seems to doing a good job at blowing out our hair, am leaning more towards the phillip.

I think it's perfectly fine to use this on high heat, as long as you're not doing it like every week or something. I like to get silk presses in the winter time, but I only get them about once a month or month-and-a-half. So I think it's perfectly fine to use it, it's not like you're going to use it everyday.

I have this dryer & even tho it seems to get hot in one area, it still takes a long time to dry my hair (too many passes thru to get it somewhat straight). I went back to using my conair with the comb attachment.🤷 I do think it's really cool to have a brush/dryer, but it needs a little improvement.
I was in market for one last year, did my research watched several reviewed. But in the end I bought MiroPure 2-1 from Amazon and I love it. The paddle is smaller, fits in your palm, doesn't heat that much compared to this Revlon, and it comes with a heat protecting glove. So you can actually hold it as you would hold an actual detangling brush, by the paddle instead of the handle.

@@dd470_ Don't know if you ended up looking at the MiroPure but it's a straightening brush (like a flat iron). That's why it came with the glove. They do have a blow dryer brush. It's a round brush like the other Revlon dryer. Hope you found/find something you like. I just ordered this Revlon from the review; since it's older, there was a coupon. 😁
