i liked the first song a lot better than the first. I don't know why Katie said it was a hard no at first. The girl has a jazz element in the first song. She could make a career out singing jazz instead of pop. Good job on the little sister's part for helping her big sister.

loved her tone, got that old jazz head voice. She took her time with the lyrics, did some nice chromatic work, and got emotional at the end. very pretty. They didn't need a 2nd song. She was solid from the beginning. - So You Wanna Be A Singer
If it was based on her first song alone it would have been a "hard no" according to Katy.
In other words I'd have to agree with Katy. The first song was not enough. The second song, thanks to the 12 year old, showed us more versatility and/or capability in my opinion.

I think that first song suited her voice. She has that cool, jazzy tone. That Nora Jones feel. And that name. That’s a superstar name.

Frankly, I loved that first performance more, because it felt so personal and warm. I have heard so many ladies screaming their heart out, but beauty lies just as much in a soft warm meaningful presentation as in a powerful performance. Remember that.
