Europeans are great with accents
You can 100% here his accent in the movie. So not perfect

Seeing Barry in this light removes the general creepiness I feel about Martin. I can watch the movie again now.

Saw the film. Barry's got a baby face, but a porn star's dick. Have seen Colin's in a 3-some online. Quite a coincidence to have seen both stars full-frontal . . . and they're both terrific actors aside from this enticing fact. Colin, when younger, was the hottest actor on film.
Their accents are so beautiful. Barry's performance blew my mind.

They're both such amazing actors but what's interesting is that they are from two completely different molds. Colin is articulate, in tune, precise, cut and refined by a life of experience and honing, and Barry is this once in a lifetime innate talent probably that had to have been affected by the tragedy when he was younger (his mom died at 12, he was in foster care for years, couldn't even afford bus fare to get to the acting studio). It would be hard to say one of them is better than the other, they are just both phenomenal. But what I really love is how close they seem! Like you know they must have had a lot of fun on the set together.

Its to see Barry Keoghan in a good gritty role his a fantastic young actor and its fantastic to see Colin working with him. They look like they get on great together so its great he has Colins guidance as an irish actor in hollywood.
Do you think Barry Keoghan would be a great choice if he plays as Tintin? And Gerard Butler as Cpt Haddock? I really want to see it happening.

This is a great movie. I've watched it several times already, and I've noticed different things each time. Barry Keoghan is a phenomenal actor.
Colin is very articulate here and he did a good job explaining Yorgos Lanthimos as a director.
this movie is sooo underrated its my favourite Lanthimos film! I love how they're all talking about the most private and emotianal cases, but nearly without any emotions showing, its so suprising and gives it such a weird and intresting atmosphere.

I wonder how the UK and Ireland produces such amazing and bold actors. I’m an American and it’s amazing to see so many American roles played by Irish, Scots, Australians, New Zealanders and Brits. Good for them! We Americans have to up our game!

Great interview. Colin is... endlessly surprising. The way he can speak, off the cuff, about roles and acting and humanity (and just about anything, apparently) is incredibly impressive. There are no cliches or rehearsed answers with him, it's all thoughtful, pithy stuff... delivered at blinding speed. One of the most fascinating and gifted humans that I am aware of (there are some others, but it's a short list). ❤

Shouldn’t all actors be?
He went to the best boarding school in Ireland. Met him once at a bar, mentioned friend went same school. He took me out for the night and (now he is clean) we got sooooooo screwed up he drank a case of Heineken in prob 2 hours. I took him to dive so he wouldn’t be bothered and we had a really great time. He is smart and charming and works hard. Boy could he do ❄️ like a champ but he is good now. Happy for him

I can't believe that Barry is the same kid I saw in the movie. It looks like he ages 10 years between the movie and interview clips.
Great movie. I thought everything in this movie had an unsettling feeling to it. Those slow zooms and eerily long shots had my skin crawling. It almost felt like the characters were getting in my head.
I know your comment is old, but this is probably the best description I've read describing this movie.

It’s uncomfortable how well Barry is able to play a teenage boy. He was around 25 when they filmed this movie.

Deer Heart yeah he is smart . Actually very smart and a good actor, but you cannot fuck a woman and video tape it and then put it up on the internet. That automatically makes you a piece of shit.

One thing I have not read in any of the movie critic comments is the camera work is beyond that of the great STANLEY KUBRICK

Paul Olenski I was thinking the same. Direction is similar like Kubrick. Colors are perfect.. Similar to Full metal from Kubrick.
Don't know about beyond but he has taken inspiration from Kubrick certainly and has done it justice very well :P

He rode my wife’s motorcycle in the film. Got to spend time on set with him and Nicole after the billiard table scene in the basement. He loves riding the bike! Nice kid too.

That's quite a funny interview - those two are clearly having a laugh between them. Remember, when these people make a film, it then comes with travelling around the world doing hundreds of interviews, being asked the same questions over and over - it's a hard life for 'em!! LOL!!!!.....

Hilarious interview. Blows my mind to hear a couple of dubliners expressing themselves at Cannes (look back to the 70s and 80s if you don't know what I mean). Just watched Deer, congrats especially to Mr Keoghan. The delivery of lines in Yorgos Lanthimos's films is strange, but what the fuck. Amazing atmosphere always.

He has the depth to play these profound roles. He's got greatness down his path. I saw a clip from "The Batman." I haven't seen the movie, but I watched the deleted scene over and over. He commands attention; he's that good.

Lol There is nothing wrong with his skin and he has a youthful face.
I think it’s that eyes and the forehead that give him a bit more mature look but he does also come across as like a 16 to 18 year old. It’s actually a complement imo.

We've got the Joker and the Penguin here folks! I hope the next Batman is better than this movie because it just wasn't my cup of tea but I hung in there because of these guys.

Great film, troubling film, great actors. I would describe it as a psychological insight into the dark empty center of Western civilization, that is its Family. Martin sees through this darkness with his wolverine eyes and makes the Murphy family see through it too. In the end, every one is for oneself. Mother is ready to kill her child, sister and brother wish each other death. Primitive fear remains these characters' only moving force. An eye for an eye, the archaic lex talionis, that Martin is ready to apply to the Murphys shows him as the only character still capable of self-sacrifice for the loved ones. As in Tarkovsky, Bach's Passions serve as a fold to suggest that spiritual reality that has been lost in the West. It's too late now, only a few in the West will understand what the film is about. I guess it takes an Eastern Orthodox Greek film director to make a film like this.
Is Lanthimos a practicing Greek Orthodox? I am Orthodox too and am just getting into Orthodox films and filmmakers such as Russian ones. If Lanthimos is Orthodox I would love to study his style more

I liked this movie..... but I'm still wondering what did Martin do to the kids ....
kind of amazed this young lad pulled off such a brilliant nuanced performance, he doesn't come across as being anything special, fidgets like my 5 year old son.

Farrell was terrific in this movie, they both were, but for some reason I think the Doctor’s part would have been perfect for Robin Williams? This was an incredible film. The kind you’ll want to watch again to make sure you didn’t miss anything.
