i bought the previous gen 3080 version of this laptop and I can not express how much better it is than my old desktop. I used to take that thing from home to uni and back and this thing just blows it out of the water performance wise.

good videos toasty, keep it going, but my tip would be that instead of testing caldera on warzone try rebirth as thats the most played mode currently and it also runs so much better for benchmarks and you also get respawn and could do a better test, beside from that i love the videos, yeeewwww

I case anyone is wondering, this laptop is Aours 5 se4($1500). Which is exactly the same as Aorus 15p xd($2000) except that Aorus 5 has Inel i7 12 th ,and Aorus 15p xd uses i7 11th gen. wisest choice is aorus 5 for the price and better cpu.

Tbh, the screen is not that impressive. At least on the 1080p model. But man, if you plug this laptop into a tv with gsync or VRR, it’s amazing. Definitely better laptop screens out there, but if you have an external monitor or tv then it’s a great choice.
I have the same exact model as this one. Only difference is, my thermals are much lower than what was shown on this review. With the turbo mode selected and gaming on max settings, I hardly ever reach anywhere above 68-71°c on the CPU and GPU. After re-pasting the CPU and GPU with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, It reaches 68°c at maximum while gaming. My old Asus zephyrus M16 (rtx 3050ti and i7-11700H) would reach upwards of 85-90°c on both gpu and cpu while gaming..

I've had my new AORUS 5 SE4-73AU213SH for a week now (August 2023) - which i believe is the exact model the guys look at in this video. For the info of others searching on info for this laptop here are my observations - ie. I think it's going to be a viable secondhand buy for at least a couple of years so people might be looking for info - that I COULDN'T find. Performance is fine of course. Mine has bios FB06 according to CPU-z which scared me as I've seen bad stuff about bios later than 05 causing system throttling - BUT - I haven't had anything like that yet. My heavy load temps have been reading about 72* C - as checked immediately after quitting to desktop from heavy games that had the fans running hard (I should probably use an ingame temps / spd utility of some kind). By comparison my ROG GL702-VSK (GTX 1070) runs at 85* under heavy load with the fans manually set to absolutely flatout. Keyboard feels ok and doesn't flex like my ROG GL702-VSK - it's nicer to use than the ROG keyboard. Not having indicators for power and HDD freaks me out and I don't like not having those indicators. Sound wise I prefer to play games without headset or buds - ie. I prefer to play with the builtin speakers - which on the ROG GL702-VSK are SPECTACULAR!!!! - the speakers in the Aorus 5 SE4 are only just ok which is very disappointing. I think I've been spoiled by the incredibly spectacular sound from the ROG GL702 - but in this laptop the speakers are a bit tinny - ie. there's some "from the bottom of a metal barrel" effect but they're ok and certainly not as bad as Nitro 5 speakers. The realtek driver that installs as the proper one does NOT give any equaliser function either which isn't unusual as I had the same issue with my last THREE laptops - ie. Predator 15 (GTX 1060), Nitro 5 (RTX 3060) and ROG GL702-VSK (GTX 1070) - like, WTF Realtek???? With the ROG, sound QUALITY was spectacular but without equaliser that you can slide all the way up, the native ROG speaker max volume was too quiet). My go to Realtek driver gave me equaliser function on those other machines - but on this laptop there's some issue that stops that driver setup fully finishing - so i get improved volume in general but no equaliser function to improve it even more or to improve the overall timbre of the speaker tone.

@@Chinny5 To be honest I always use my laptops plugged in so can't really comment intelligently on this - but on occasions when I've set it up but forgotten to turn the wall outlet on, it's run for maybe half an hour of heavy gaming before stuttering reminded me I didn't have the power turned on. At some stage I'll try it out unplugged for just normal browsing etc. and come back with info on how long it lasted. To be honest, my impression is that the battery isn't very high capacity. Laptop manufacturers annoy me - ie. I cannot fathom why they don't build laptops with plug in replacement cartridge style batteries. Actually i do know why they don't do that - they WANT people to replace their laptops every couple of years - BUT - if they kept the battery form factor consistent then we could replace the laptop and carry forward our spare batteries - which would be benficial for manufacturers in that people would stick with the brand so they could keep using the batteries they own...

I have this same laptop and was running in on a 4k tv to play Dark Souls 3 in 4K. The laptop worked well and kept it at 60fps until it overheated forcing the laptop to downclock everything and making the game run at 20fps until it got cool enough to ramp up speeds again and keep the upclocking and downclocking cycle. It failed me there. Other than that it runs great in it's 1080p monitor

Yeah that isn't how it works... mine runs at max wattage limits and never throttles even after hours of play. I lose maybe 2-3% of what I start off at but that is pretty normal with heat causing the chip to run slower...

I will go to the comments for some feedback. My last PC is 6+ years old. The most complicated game I plan on using on this is Minecraft. Maybe use the RTX stuff. Hope I'm saying that right right. My only complaint is the RXT 3070 being strapped at 1080P where a 3070 can do so much more. For example my laptop took a dump and I needed a new computer back in late Dec. of 2021 and the market was CRAZY then! I ended up buying a Asus desktop Ryzen 7 5700G with a RTX 3060 G2 12Gb Phenix and dual channel 16Gb ram for $1348 US. With an aggressive over-clock on the CPU I get better 1080P performance than this laptop for the same price over 6months later! I only have a 1080P monitor which is why I choose that desktop. The other options I have over a laptop is I can "swap" out everything at will where you CAN'T with a laptop. The 5700G only performs 3-4% slower than a Ryzen 5800X but the over-clock washes that out PCI 3.0 vs PCI 4.0 in gaming is nothing to talk about. Still, all-in-all this is a "decent" laptop for the price but personally I never liked the roaring fan noise laptops produce! I swapped out my case fan for a Noctua for $15 US and bought a BE-QUITE Dark STAR II CPU cooler fan for another $39 US to handle my over-clock and it runs QUIET and cool. At 1080P a 3060 can "play" all day long and is OK for now.
U can get a monitor if u really want a better resolution.

Also, with desktops you can swap anything whenever you want where as a laptop has very little "upgrade" options other than RAM or storage. I now have a FULL RGB desktop, keyboard, and mouse and I'm really liking it! Even my RAM is RGB and can do "custom" RGB layouts. I "needed" the mobility before as I did work and gaming but now I do work at home and gaming. One last opinion, high-end laptops cost much more then the desktop equivalent counter parts especially when you do your "own" build!

Hey man, I have this exact laptop and here’s the upgradable slots: - it has 2 separate M.2 SSD slots (one with the stock SSD and one empty slot) -it has 2 slots for RAM (one slot with stock Crucial ram and one empty for a new stick) -it also comes with an easily accessible WiFi card that can be replaced if needed. Overall, all the stock components like the SSD and RAM can be replaced and upgraded if needed. Also, the fans are attached to the heat sink so if you need to repaste then be aware of that. This laptops thermals are amazing, when gaming on max settings / turbo fan mode I’m almost never over 70°c on both CPU and GPU.

And they use a pc model to play free games because if they tested minecraft every day for a year that would cost them 7,300$ a year which they could have bought a dope gaming pc with that money.
