I respect that Taylor is such a kind and humble person and ran to hug Kendrick. Yes, 1989 was huge and a fabulous album but so was TPAB. Even years later, there’s people trying to make a big thing over it, but let’s all appreciate it for what it is.

I think TPAB should have won too and is one of the greatest albums of all time but 1989 is also one of the greatest pop albums of all time. They both appear on several greatest of all time lists and have aged well and are still loved to this day. You dont have to put someone down to lift someone else up.

Everyone knew about it and her singles were everywhere. Granted Kendrick's album talked about more sensitive matters but it didn't change the world in the same way compared to Taylor's album. Also 1989 world tour made over $217,000,000!! And was one of the best selling tours of all time. I think the way that 1989 shook the world, had such a big influence on everyone and the way that it changed 2015 made it win the award for best album. But I do understand where you're coming from.

The narrative in the album is still as relevant today as it was 6 years ago. The Grammys have not been as progressive in the past, and been reluctant to award artists of colour or hip-hop productions. I do not think of Taylor Swift as any less of an artist and I believe she has made other projects more worthy of challenging To Pimp a Butterfly. Thank you. I was happy Taylor won but sad cause the second I got on Twitter, I knew people would badmouth her. Kendrick didn't seem that fussed, he was happy for Taylor and besides if that's the growth he had from the last time he lost, KL3 will not just be lit, it will burn down the facilities of everyone who owns the album. 1989 & TPAB are albums about an emotional journey, both put effort in & tbh both deserved to tie but i'm happy with Taylor winning, there's this connection the Swifties have had with 1989, the tour has shown that with everything going on, we can forget the world's troubles and just get lost in the music. Taylor has a powerful connection with music felt around the world, and it's that indescribable powerful connection with 1989 that saw her win I think.

+SOK Love i think either way it fell as long as it was Kendrick or Taylor i'd be happy. 1989 was also a great album with all the factors you mentioned, except complex, the album's message was easy to understand. When listening to 1989, I felt very transcended by the music, lyricism and message, and this was furthered backed up on The 1989 World Tour. I'm not trying to swing after you, definitely not, but I feel as well Kendrick losing out will be great for Album 3, because if that is the progression he made after losing Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City in 2013, just imagine how on fire KL3 is going to be. He'll get there eventually. I also think his message is getting across very well as his performance of The Blacker the Berry/Alright was one of the most talked about of the night. The message is seeping through, so really he'll get there. It'll all be alright eventually. Both 1989 & TPAB were amazing albums and both deserved to win.
