You can judge her technique in the jumps, especially the lutz, but you can't deny she captivates you from the beginning to the end and she produces art on the ice, exactly what i found out to be missing in alina's program! What a great performance to watch! Well done Evgenia!

@@n.nenastie9485 тут не совсем даже расстройство... Здесь эмоциональное опустошение, когда то, во что ты вкладывался очень долгое время пришло к финишу. Когда отдал себя до остатка и силы покинули. На Олимпиадах часто бывают разные крайне эмоциональные проявления в момент, когда все завершилось: плач, крики, резкие жесты, даже нервные срывы. Только спортсмен, тренеры и самые близкие знают, что было в закулисье и чего стоит та или иная медаль. Потому любые эмоции там НОРМАЛЬНЫ. А что до оценок: спортсмены прекрасно знают, какую имеют стоимость их программы с точки зрения баллов. И, да, Женя знала, что ее программа облегчена по сравнению с Алиной. И, надо вспомнить, что очень тяжеловооруженной была и короткая программа Алины "Черный лебедь" по сравнению с соперницами уже в первый день борьбы. Это грустно, но шансов там не было.

Два года до олимпиады, она выигрывала все турниры . Олимпиада любит молодых. Тут как повезёт родиться, или слишко рано …или через 4 года слишком поздно

mish098aimer I agree but here we are not talking about artistry but any evgenia's artistry is good especially this time after leaving to orser but not higher than them this is your opinion and I respect it, but emotionaly she is the best because she skates to sad and emotional music so she emotes when she skate to this music and no one did that so emotions and artistry are completely different but she has artistry not high as kim or kostner but still amazing

Да, от этих слов мурашки всегда по коже.
Этот прокат,вернее программа,больше подходит как показательный номер,по сложности он проще программы Алины и Алина откатала сложнейшую программу легко,даже дыхание не сбилось,у них разный возраст и в 18 лет Жене трудно было бороться с сильной,талантливой 15 летней Загитовой,но Женя умница и ее серебро достойная награда,надо было принять её с радостью и благодарностью и все дальше было бы в её спортивной судьбе по-другому, ни так трагично...

Это ее судьба и ее жизнь, только она знает через что ей пришлось пройти. И честно пересматривая сейчас кадры в кисс енд край я ничего там ужасного не увидела, ну не справился человек с нервами, только и всего, ляпнул лишнего. Зато потом Алину обняла и хлопала ей на пьедестале и в публичном пространстве, я не разу не слышала плохого слова от Жени про Алину. Вспомните как себя вела Слуцкая в Солт лейк Сити, тот же самый выплеск эмоций и нервы. Извиняюсь Саша Трусова переплюнула всех вместе взятых. Для них фигурное катание это реально определенный этап жизни, они с этого катка не вылазят. Никогда не осуждала, и никогда не буду осуждать Медведеву, потому что не за что. Считаю что ее совесть чиста и пред собой и перед народом. А то что у них там с Тутберидзе было, ну это действительно личное, никто не знает что там было на самом деле, по воле судьбы это вылезло на всеобщее обозрение( а вот это конечно было лишнее, весь народ перемывал кости. а в остальном это Женина жизнь, пусть живет ее как считает нужным. Мне кажется у жени просто такой характер она сама хозяйка своей судьбы, и не любит играть по чужим правилам, просто такой человек, мы все разные, идеальных людей не существует.

This is the only performance that has made me cry. And it wasn’t because I thought she had the best skating skills in the field or because she was the best jumper or the most consistent. It was because she just skates with her soul. Every time she steps on the ice she is fully committed and she feels every note.

The fascinating thing about her performance is that she is so in tune with this performance that all the technical elements and the difficulty seem to disappear into this absolute masterpiece of her superb skating and the intricate choreography. Also she just effortlessly transitions from one to the next and it's always 100% spot on with the music. I can see why she later said that this was the most perfect flow moment, skating absolutely in the moment and all out with her heart she has ever had.
This used to be her greatest performance. Now we have Exogenesis, Memoirs Of A Geisha and even her exhibition program, idontwannabeyouanymore. Her entire program set was one of the best in this season among all others. You'd think she was at her peak already during the Olympic season but we were wrong. She was still growing, improving, despite all the odds stacked against her. To all the people who said that it was her time to retire after getting a silver and changing coaches, no, she will keep on fighting and proving herself.
I disagree. Her best performance was in the team event 2017 in Japan. Jaw dropping

And had she kept her original FS (Aljona Kostornaia skates to the same music in her SP) she would have won the gold. Anyways, who knows. I am a massive Zagitova fan, but Zhenya put so much soul into this performance ❤️

Such an amazing performance. The choreography matches the music, but that's not all, she tells us this whole story through the choreography. Nowadays, most programs are about going from one side of the rink to the other only to get the jumps done and the choreography barely matches the music. This is truly art.

i still don't see why she wasn't the winner. everything about her captured your attention. the fluidity. the technique. it's beautiful to watch. she's not just jumping. she's telling a story and it's sad that people don't see that
Изначально её программа по баллам уступала программе Загитовой. Она недобрала несколько баллов до победы. Не хватило одного прыжка. Да она бы и не один еще прыгнула,но так тренер распорядился. У Загитовой все прыжки во второй части,за это идёт надбавка к каждому прыжку.
@@user-rn6ee6uh2h I hate the emphasis and points dishing to jumps. This is figure skating, not a triple jump on the track. Yes, there are spins and jumps included, but they shouldn't be the only feature. I want to watch passionate people perform beautiful routines that come from the heart. Figure skating used to be an art. Now it's a contest to see how many jumps you can include to get the most points.
Most of the people saw it, for sure. Even now, no one remembers Zagitova's program, but only Zhenya's.

I will always remember the ending of this piece, as the sound of the train builds and Evgenia holds her hand dramatically over face as the whistle blows. It perfectly encapsulates the fate of Anna from Tolstoy's novel and is one moment from my many hours of watching figure skating I will never forget. One of my favorite performances.

Нет, не справедливо!!! по нескольким причинам, которые уже много раз обсуждались. Женя должна была по праву стать золотой, а не наша юная тогда красотка-попрыгунья. Тысячи людей до сих пор сопереживают и чувствуют эту несправедливость.

I just watched Alina's performance, and while it was beautiful like her. I just can not understand how Evgenia did not win here. This was one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful performance in figure skating ever.
Alina placed all her jumps in the second half of her programs for extra points. This became controversial so the ISU (International Skating Union) made a rule stating that skaters need to have at least 1 jump in the first half of their short program and 2 in the first half of their free program. Many fans call it The Zagitova Rule
Medvedeva also has serious technical issues with her jumps (eg. Inside edge lutz when it’s supposed to be out, massive prerotations) that the judges let her get away with. Zagitova also has prerotation issues, but has the correct edges. Zhenya does have much better artistry, but as @Snowfang00 said, Zagitova backloaded her program which gave her the edge to win, plus she has somewhat better technique
@@mht4908yeah but zagitova had absolutely no business getting a 75 something pcs score in her first year senior! Those scores are comparable with yuna kim and Carolina kostner! First year senior? I think not.

QUEEN of the ice. She deserved olympic gold medal as former world junior champion and 3x world champion. She was born to do it and we have seen that.

She really deserved to win gold. Zagitova stacked all of her jumps at the end and got the point bonus, but Zhenya is a much more artistic skater who has beautiful flow between elements. Zagitova's performance felt more stilted than Zhenya's.

Think again hahaha Mann. Are you just being trollish. If she under rotated all her jumps would the judges not have called her out during the three years that she was the champion at every championship she entered.
Her 'lutz' has wrong edge and pre-rotates her toe jumps yet never gets any of those things deducted. I get it, someone who doesn't know figure skating might think it's super artistic and her jumps are great, but the judging system made it so unfair to other skaters who have textbook techniques and consistency.

Переданы все грани ее тонкой души, все стенания ,и неизбежный трагический финал… все есть в этом танце… каждое движение рук , пальчиков, все работало на образ!!! Вот как так, обычная девушка, вышла на лед и… превратилась в светскую красавицу с истерзанной душой … БРАВО!!! Лучший прокат в истории фигурного катания!!!

@@ArinaAloeva она правда на льду преображается:))) все ее программы наполнены смыслом. Танец который был посвящен глухой девочке(мы знаем какой)Когда она услышала …и звуки сводили ее с ума, пока она не стала танцевать… Такие артистичные только Медведева и Липницкая. Раньше была Катарина Витт . Остальные или ноги задирают лучше всех, или прыгают лучше всех. Аня Щербакова нежная , правильная статистка. Узкое амплуа, можно представить только в одном образе. За Лизу порой даже неловко…такая вызывающая, неприкрытая сексуальность:))). Но рада за неё, что она столько лет в топе. Это сугубо мое мнение. Люблю всех наших фигуристок, болею за всех! Даже сожалею что их одновременно так много, что даже самые достойные лишены признания. Нужно выступать за другие страны. Жизнь одна!
One of the most iconic performances in Figure skating history. She’s just so amazing
This performance was the only time I've been moved to tears by any artistic routine like this. Zagitova may have had the athletic prowess to stack all her jumps into the second half of the program to get the bonus, but Medvedeva is the only skate I still remember 4 years later. Shame she was beset by injury, and didn't get the support she needed to appear in Beijing. Speaking as a red blooded American, this routine remains one of my top 5 all time Olympic memories (and the only one I remember of a non-American)

Both Zhenya SP and FP are so beautiful. Silver is great, for sure, but I still cannot believe that she didn't leave with a gold medal for her performance
I've never seen such beauty on the ice. She was mesmerizing in this performance. It had everything from technically ability to a genius artistry. I've been watching Figure Skating for 44 years and I never saw anyone like her!!!

She embodied Anna Karenina so well. A part of me wishes the judges read the book and then judge her once again, as the PCS would have definitely been higher.
Всё-таки никто из нынешних девочек, как сильно бы я их не любила, не катает с такой самоотдачей, как Женя. Когда я впервые увидела её, была потрясена тем, насколько она вживается в образ, да при том ещё и выполняет прыжки, вращения, дороги и т.д. И так легко всё делает, будто играючи! Даже забываешь порой, сколько труда вложено в эту красоту, сколько многочасовых тренировок ушло на то, чтобы довести до автоматизма каждый жест, взгляд и поворот головы... Браво, Женя! Твои программы никогда не забудут
Да, это не просто программа, это настоящий номер, спектакль. Такое чувственное катание, просто захватывает и уносит. Особенно для тех кто смотрел фильм. Она просто прожила эти эмоции! Разрыв аорты как любит говорить ТАТ и Ягудин! Сильнейший прокат. Но золото только одно, а прекрасных девочек - две. И одна по любому будет плакать.

А что Медведева уже была зрелой женщиной? Такая же юношеская лёгкость, как и у Загитовой! Просто технически менее сложные программы, чем у Загитовой! Такие уж правила, где не только зрелищность оценивается, но и техника! Да и у Загитовой, на мой взгляд, программы куда интересней, чем у Медведевой на этой Олимпиаде!

@@theshillneckedlizard8364 it’s bc having a low body weight will get their jumps high or something like that. her coach basically trains young girls who have lots of potential but by time they’re 16-18 they lose their skills & retire bc of how extreme her coaching is. atleast one of her former skaters, yulia lipnitskaya, was hospitalized bc of an eating disorder

what makes all her performances great is that it isnt just plain skating and doing moves. its also facial expressions, smallest details, telling a story. she deserved the gold more than anyone.
So here I am again, watching & crying, like she did in the end. She knew that this was the best performance of her life & in some way she knew that she wouldn’t win, although she skated a 1st place performance. They changed the rules, but it was too late for her.... But she has our hearts & that’s more than Olympic gold..... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The sport is moved fwd by legends, by superstars, the ones who become influencers to the crowd. There are very few such athletes in the fugure skating and Evgenia is one of them. Most of skaters skate with their brains, Evgenia skates with her entire soul. The warmth, the splendor and her dedication to the skating are just mindblowing. Queen💗

Absolutely amazing. I have seen a lot of skating performances over the years, but this may be my favorite women's competitive performance of all time time. She gave everything she had in this performance. There was not a finger out of place. Absolutely incredible!

She's literally the reason why I became interested in watching figure skating. The way she emotes through all her movements and every part of her body and the way she feels the music (coupled with her technique and advanced elements) made her truly stand out among all the other skaters. Anyone who watched her programs could easily tell not just that she was a talented skater, but also that she genuinely loved to skate. She never ceased to be a joy to watch. After hearing the recent news about her retirement, all I can say is that I wish her all the best with whatever she chooses to do with her life after skating, and that the sport will never be the same without her. You're an absolute gem, Zhenya. 🥰

Многое зависит от программы. У Авербуха они всегда цельные и там не просто набор элементов. Но то ,что Евгения откатала ее гениально с думаю даже не поспоришь . Они действительно погрузила зрителей в спектакль. Таких фигуристок мало)

Уже через 2 дня начнется олимпиада в Пекине, а я решила пересмотреть Женин прокат. Все-таки сколько души, сколько эмоций в этом прокате. И каждый раз когда смотрю, ощущения, как в фильме, когда уже знаешь концовку, но все равно надеешься, что а вдруг, вдруг она выиграет. Моя любимая программа. И еще «Жутко громко и запредельно близко».
