Not in the race. He can deliver some fast laps, but race pace Ham leads him. Even in Q2 today on medium tires Ham was the fastest.

That would be the right thing to do though. The best outcome for this race for Mercedes would be Lewis winning and Valtteri coming second. That way they lead the constructor's championship and Lewis cuts the gap to max to at least 2 points (assuming Max finishes in 3rd). 1 point if Lewis gets fastest lap as well.

I don't know if it's just me, but gasly has been one of the best drivers this year. Man stayed in front of both Ferrari and McLaren yesterday. He's been very consistent and, although he had a lot of DNFs, he achieved great results in an AlphaTauri throughout the year

The Constructors Championship comes 1st, its what counts. The Drivers Championship is "by the by", a distraction in truth as it wins the team no money, and is really only for the "fans". Back in the day even mentioning the Drivers standings before the Constructors was sorted was a crime against the sport, and particularly against the team you worked for. Its a team sport, too many completely forget that.
Plus, Bottas and Stewart are looking mighty fine together with the Fangio Trophy. Happy men!

Starting on pole here actually might be a curse because of how powerful the slipstream is going into turn 1. In 2018, Ricciardo went from 1st to 3rd after the first corner, and Max went from 2nd to 1st and Lewis went from 3rd to 2nd after the first corner. Something to keep in mind.

Tsunoda is performing really well last few weeks
Just my honest opinion: Mercedes heavily changed the setup of the car between fp3 and quali, and it ended up with a surprise front row lockout. The only problem with this, is that they haven't tested that setup on the long run.. It's a risky move, they could have issues in the race tomorrow (as the setup cannot be changed anymore), something like tyres cooling/degradation, especially with a heavy load of fuel

No because he’s overrated for the right reasons. He only got into Q3 because he set a lap time on the softs with the 3rd/4th fastest car for that track. Gasly overperforms and yuki wouldn’t even be in Q3 if he was on the mediums.

5:14 it's obvious that checo did a careless mistake, yuki went off first. also, checo/yuki were at the side of the track & max could've aced his lap. so, i don't even know why yuki was called a "dumb idiot" by max & horner said "we got tsunoda'd"
Pèrez could have been pushing for pole, so could be reference to him re tsunoda'd. Also there's tenths of a second between them, that was the final crucial lap didn't help verstappen but I agree shouldn't have made a v big difference to verstappen.
Cause Horner and max are always looking for someone to blame
If you see two cars going off in front of you, you will lift and it's been confirmed that happened. That can cost 0.2s really quickly. I'm not blaming Tsunoda or Perez at all by the way, but you cannot expect Max to still ace such a lap

100% . Red Bull playing 4D Chess having spotted how P3 is the best spot on the grid historically at Mexico. Until there is a third team vying for the front row then P3 is really P1 and should be sought by both Red Bull and Mercedes
Out of all places to get a front row lockout this season, I wasn't expecting Mercedes to get it here in Mexico.
I am rooting for Max in the championship and was looking forward to a Red Bull front row tomorrow, but actually this is way more entertaining. Seems nothing can go according to plan this season and I love it!
Yeah. This season so far has been so entertaining because you could never predict what's gonna happen. To this day, we cannot say for sure who's gonna win the title, even with Max's lead at the moment. We aren't even sure who's gonna win this race.
