NBA Finals 2001 Lakers vs Sixers Game 2 Full Highlights Shaq 28 pts 20 reb 9 ast 8 blk Bryant 31 pts
Kobe Bryant started off the game with 12 points in the first quarter, while Shaq scored 12 points in the second quarter. Despite their points, the 76ers kept a close lead as Larry Brown ran over 10 plays searching for the right quartet, and the fact that all the Lakers besides Bryant and O'Neal were shooting only at 27%. The Sixers were down by 13 in the fourth quarter, and were making a comeback due to Shaq sitting out with 5 fouls, which helped the 76ers to score 7 straight. Even though the 76ers were within 3 points of the Lakers, the 6 of 16 foul shooting in the fourth quarter put them behind permanently. O'Neal finished with 28 points, 20 rebounds, nine assists, and eight blocks, coming close to a quadruple double. Before the game, Lakers coach Phil Jackson had growled at O'Neal, "Don't be afraid to block a shot!" after O'Neal failed to block a shot in Game 1

golden era of basketball
2000-2014 def not a "golden era" lmao
Better than this era
3:37 iconic pass
Bro thx so much
Your a legend I didn’t have to go through this whole thing for 1 clip in my edit
You saved me watching the hole vid for a edit cheers bro
He also did that with Bynum
I miss this the showtime Lakers. the late nights up in Miami Florida watching the great Kobe Shaq and company. Rip Kobe Bryant the great Mamba
Idk if these were showtime lakers that is magic n Kareem worthy etc….. but this team was pretty showtime it’s self even though I hated their ass
Showtime was Magic and Kareem
Something about those late night games that added to the mystique
Just goes to show how dominant a prime shaq
more like he aint have much comp at his position from 2000-2004
@@TyBrezzy11 Rick smits lol
@@TyBrezzy11 lol you can’t be serious. Gen Z at it again
@@TyBrezzy11 how u gonna say he had no comp when 90s NBA was still big man league. shut the hell up u fool
@@coreyortiz9913 90s NBA top % of scorers were GUARDS AND FORWARD do some math kid
kobe needed shaq and shaq needed kobe. they were duo and they both balled tf out
Can't believe AI carry that team to the finals. He's really the Answer.
Iverson can really shoot the ball and become the answer.
THAT KOBE TO SHAQ, SPIN BEHIND THE BACK, NO LOOK, MIGHT BE THE ILLEST PASS I EVER SEEN.. NEXT TO MAGIC.
I enjoyed so much watching AI on the floor, even shaq can’t stop him.
People who think Shaq carried Kobe need to go back and watch these games. He wasn’t even in his prime yet and he was already better than any of today’s players
2:31 Wow. Just Wow.
Without Shaq, I believe the lakers would've lost. Shaq was most certainly essential.
he the best player on the lakers at the time
Y’all underrating Kobe rn
This Lakers squad relied on the Shaq and Kobe duo They were not going to be at a 100% if they missed either one
@@tridra5714 Kobe is
Sounds like a hater
Love this game!
Iverson had a really good crossover to beat his opponent.
Kobe was still young asf during these times
Lakers Nation💛💜💛💜
ShaQ was just unstoppable in his prime lol.
Shaq was a great passer. He was great at passing the ball to his teammates.
2001 Lakers were the best playoff team in history. I always found it funny that the 2001 76s had coach of the year, MVP, defensive player of the year and sixth man of the year and were still overwhelmed with the Lakers. They had to double Shaq everytime even with DPOY.
This Lakers team was literally unbeatable but dam did AI give them the business!!
What business they lost
@@derrickalexander9710 do you know how to read? I said the lakers were unbeatable. So obviously they won. AI gave them the business means he gave them a hard time and dropped 50 on them in game 1 and beat them to break their 9 game winning streak after they had just swept Duncan’s Spurs. AI led that series in points 4 out of the 5 games
Yeah becuase the Lakers coming from a 7 days off they were rusty even PJ said it
@@jjohnson4013 sure there buddy 😂
This Lakers team was the best team ever. Only lost game 1 of the Finals.
Great game
Shaq was really shooting hooks over Mutumbo from the free three line
This was a pivotal game. Aaron Mckie was brilliant, but the Lakers were so team oriented, hitting shot after critical shot, they just couldn't get over the line.
I love listening to the lakers pa announcer
These two are unstopable
Shaq led his team in rebounds with 12 more then the next closest person. Shaq led the team in blocks with 6 more then the next closest person. Shaq led the team in assists with 3 more then the next closest person. He was 2nd in points with 28 with kobe with 31.
Dude almost had a quadruple double bruh
Wow, I didn't know that. This was the only game, Shaq almost had a quadruple double.
3:30 what everyone came for
Thanks
The last season Kobe n Shaq were buddies before hating eachother
Actually Kobe and Shaq got along just fine in 2002 and 2003. They didn’t start hating each other again until 2004.
it's crazy when you think about it, but if you replace Shaq with an average center on that lakers team, Allen Iverson would've gotten a ring. Kobe was not ready to lift a Shaqless team to a championship
What? How stupid do you sound. Kobe was the main reason they were in the finals to begin with
01 was Kobe Best Case for Finals MVP during the Shaq Kobe Duo Era, Kobe averaged 30ppg going into the Finals@ 23 years old
@@kalvinbaber5484 yeah I know, what I meant is he needed Shaq to win the series. He was already an amazing player back then. I would pick any version of Kobe over any version of Shaq lol
@@Mr4everBaller naw Shaq #s were INSANE during 98-04 Google them please
@@Mr4everBaller He needed Shaq to win the series? Kobe led the team in points this game and he was the X factor in the victory in game 3 when Shaq fouled out
3:28 got a poster of this play
Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'neal are the great players of the LA Lakers
I miss this type of NBA. No 90% 3s lol.
Shaq and Kobe were unstoppables ! But don't forget, Fisher, Fox, Horry, Grant, Lue, Madsen...
LA just had better scorers. I was pulling for AI at that time he was fun too watch!!!
Me 2 I'm a kobe fan rip but that yr I wanted ai to win
We thought the 76ers might of beat the Lakers because of game 1. But no, it was a different story.
clip on 4:28, his foot was outside the line when he caught the ball lol
3:38
Remember shaq was just stronger then everyone else lol that's what dumb peoplesay to discredit what he did. That's why he put up 9 assists and 8 blocks along with 28 points and 20 rebounds. It takes a lot of skills to get 9 assists along with 8 blocks in the same d@mn game.
Unless your a man playing against kids lol
@@gun12guage36Mutombo, 2001 DPOY, a kid?
@@Theterminato2013mutombo also won it 3 other times.

this was Iverson vs O'Neal..
Oneal got 3 titles and Iverson didn't get nothing.
Kobe lockdown AI in this game
Kobe was overrated.. iverson is so better.
Kobe led his team to the finals for 3 years straight in 08-10. Iverson never did that
Iverson was probably better at this time, but Kobe had a better work ethic and became a legend. Kobe wasn't in his prime in 2001 but Iverson pretty much already was as a early bloomer who didn't really live up to the hype.
There’s a reason why Kobe is considered one of the best not iverson
Bro watched a 9 min clip of highlights and thought iverson was better than kobe💀 Fuckin old heads
@@aaronrooks2703 But Kobe had really good teamates..So many good players..Who Iverson had??
Even with Maccallugh who was known as Shaq stopper and was hired by Nets the next year, 76ers couldnt win
