The sinus cartilage looks cool, but I heard someone claim that they turn yellow over time. I wonder how true that is, particularly if you do a good job de-greasing and whitening. If it's an inevitable thing, I'll probably opt to remove them when I eventually do one.

After watching this video, I ordered the exact same products off Amazon to whiten a hog skull I European mounted for my son. Mixed it to a similar consistency and painted on the head and wrapped it in plastic wrap let sit for 7 days. Unfortunately it turned out a dual white. Have you ever had this happen? I'm thinking I didn't apply it thick enough on the skull. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you
@justinkelly2880 Жыл бұрын
It is very possible there is still some grease in the skull. It is very common on hog skulls. It will cause the skull to appear an ivory color rather than white because the grease won't allow much peroxide penetration. A heat gun will dissolve small spots, and even leaving it a while to dry out might even get rid of it if it's not too thick. You can try more peroxide again and it will not hurt anything if you want to first and just see if it helps.

@juliodias6041 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. The warmer the water the faster, also if you never change the water it smells horrible but works in a fraction of the time because of the bacteria growth. Also, if the skull is already beginning to rot and not fresh it will take way less time. I finished 2 last week that only macerated for about 3 weeks but it was really hot then. Now it's in the 20's and they will take a while.
