I'm convinced that base set, jungle, fossil, rocket etc is still being printed somewhere at this point.
😂😂😂 There was just a lot more hoarders back in the day than any of us realised.
My theory is that they must have overprinted a ton. Later, those cards tanked in value, and then they were picked up and hoarded. So, it's actually not that rare. It's only essential for certain people that it is perceived that way.
Why don’t you become a vintage vendor and then you’ll realize how wrong you are. People work hard to source vintage boxes from collectors.

Incredible convention! It would be incredibly difficult to not go over budget with all the amazing items there! I would be going for more modern packs like Brilliant Stars to stretch money. Awesome video Chloe, and thank you for taking us along at the convention!

Do you ever think it's all a bit silly with the prices of some stuff? I get there are lots of factors at play and some stuff is genuinely rare, but a lot of vintage boxes and cards are obviously not that hard to get. I can't fathom how cards and boxes are going for more than most Rolex watches.
I mean, the answer is in your comparison... I personally wouldn't pay $500 for a Rolex...
I think it's INSANE. I'd rather spend $30k on a bag than on cards but then again, these people collect cards. I collect bags lol.

As much as I enjoy watching these, the sadness just comes back for me lol. I lost my entire base set 1 and 2, jungle, fossil, team rocket, and some Japanese cards in hurricane katrina. I stopped collecting right before Skyridge. Really wish I would have bought boxes when they were around $600. Almost bought one for $17,500 USD a few years back but family comes first. Maybe one day I'll be able to re-invest.
I definitely can't afford any vintage packs, but if I could I would 100% go for EX and e series over Base, Jungle and Fossil. I find the cards in the original sets to be so boring to look at.

I thought 1st Edition base boxes were clear wrapped? The pokemon network had them with wizards stamps and they look loose wrapping haha.

how can u tell pack arent weighed? im really looking for call of legends but buying loose packs scares me cause i dont want to get scammed
Almost all packs are weighed do not ever trust a seller who says unweighed. Best bet is to spend the extra money and get a sleeved pack. They cost a decent amount more but it’s worth it for a fair fight
@@christianemilia7770 these youtubers who go to these conventions seem so confident when buying loose packs i dont get it like i wish one of them would do a video of what they look for that tells them it’s a legit fair shot.
@@bdawrds7601 the things is at conventions with trusted vendors they may be telling the truth… but online like eBay and other places never trust loose packs. Sleeved is the way to go. It sucks because they cost a bunch more but well worth it if you ask me.
@@bdawrds7601 they don’t look for anything. You can’t tell if a pack is weighed or not. It’s always a gamble. Just going off blind trust
If tthey are loose, assume they are weighed, every time. There are sellers like TCA Gaming that open boxes and place the packs straight into tamper proof containers/bags, recording the whole thing so in the future there is a provenance. I'd only buy loose packs from something like that, unless I was looking to purchase a light pack.

When Pokemon goes down in popularity as it inevitably will people sre just going to be sitting on so much cardboard, it is kinda like 80s abd 90s sports cards, there is kust too much out there(which is great so kids can actually get it)
