Masquerade - Guardian Angel (Danish TV) - ((STEREO))

German Masquerade was on Danish TV show Eldorado in 1984, and performed the smash hit 'Guardian Angel'.
The composer of the song is Drafi Deutscher, who's also singing both voices (the low and high voices). There has been many discussions about who are performing behind the masks. Some people think it's Drafi and Stefan Körber, but the truth is, that it's NOT Drafi Deutscher. The two performers you see are two substitutes from Hamburg and they are only miming to Drafi's singing.
Why Drafi chose to let two substitutes perform his Guardian Angel song is unknown, but in the 80's it was quite common to let other persons mime to your songs (just think of Boney M and Milli Vanilli). Drafi Deutscher has written many songs for other artists - among them Boney M's 'Belfast'.
Drafi was also the "head" behind the group Mixed Emotions.

  • Wie gerne hätte ich die 80er wieder zurück....ein berauschendes Jahrzehnt. 🙂 Erste Liebe,heimlich geraucht,Führerschein gemacht erster Urlaub mit Freundin. Wenn ich gute Musik aus dieser Zeit höre,schleicht sich ein wissendes Lächeln auf mein Gesicht und ich bekomme feuchte Augen. Wie sehr würde ich meinen Kindern diese Zeit gönnen.....

  • I'd heard this song a long time ago in the '80's and loved it. When I lost my 18 year old son in a car accident, 20 years after this song was a hit, I heard it again a day after his funeral.   • Ich kenne dieses Lied habe es ab und wann mal gehört aber erst jetzt habe ich genauer zugehört und geschaut und mir geht es wie einigen anderen die hier Kommentiert haben denn auch ich höre es fast am laufenden Band denn es ist wunderschön und die Stimmen sind ein Traum vor allem von dem jüngeren Sänger in Weiß . Die Sänger sind meiner Meinung nach perfekt Gekleidet für dieses Lied es ist für mich einfach nur Klasse 👍. Ich werde einfach immer wieder dieses tolle Lied hören denn ich habe mich darin verliebt .

Für dieses Projekt wurden 2 Herren genommen, die als MASQUERADE auftraten (einer von den beiden war Günther Urban), da mein Vater sich im Hintergrund hielt. Lange konnte er es allerdings nicht geheim halten - zu viele erkannten natürlich sofort seine markante Stimme (ja, er sang den Song komplett allein!).
