  • Quality O-Line draft commentary is so hard to find. Great job coach. This was excellent. You should do more prospects!!! I suggest Amarius Mims (UGA), Kingsley Suamataia (BYU), and Jordan Morgan (ARIZ). Whenever I see clips of Alt and Olu I end up watching their counterparts, haha, Blake Fisher (ND) and Caeden Wallace (PSU), who are both solid as can be and getting slept on bigtime. Cheers.

  • Great insights from an excellent coach Mike Martz. Great critical views of Joe Alt's lack of anchor and power in his hips, his height can be a disadvantage if he does learn to stay low to win leverage which makes him lean and get off balance too often. JC Latham looks the more powerful tackle. Better anchor, long arms and more powerful hips and punch surprised more analysts dont have him higher. Would love to see a full analysis of all top tackles in the class Fuaga, Fautanu, Mims and Guyton to compare.

    • As a bears fan I will always remember this guy for being the idiot who thought trading probowl tight end Greg Olsen was a good idea so that he could use a 300 pound tight end to block.

  • Thanks Mike for not getting into an obsession with the offensive back position known as quarterback. Could you please do a film on how the defensive back position known as cornerback has been neutered over the years. How come the so-called "best corners" tape shows a guy constantly running behind a wideout being grabby, and never looking back for the ball. Gone are the days you had two mirror receivers on a play, one offensive, the other the defensive back.

  • I'm so happy I just found someone who looks at film the same way as me, I agreed with everything you said about those guys. Can't believe Alt is just thrown up as tackle 1 by consensus, I think he's a mid to late first round guy. I think Latham is an immediate gangster of a guard pass pro and run game everything but OZ. I do worry about him on an island with speed especially when he gets to see NFL speed because I think his feet can get there but they're still ploddy even with the range and changing direction/mirroring he's not there right now but let's say he plays at 330-340 instead could he hit his landmarks against edge speed and redirect well? If so you have a fucking dude at tackle too. Olu is just the most natural pass pro mover of all the guys, good tackle

    • Agreed. I have Mims OT1 though. Wins the most, highest upside. "Draft media" always has their 'favorites'. I start my draft process by seeking out the "hype busts". Haha. Caleb "the Great" Williams and Joe "Too Tall" Alt are the Captains this year. GL in the draft!! Edit: I like Latham at tackle. Guard only if it's less than stellar (I don't think it will be), and you should know in training camp.

  • Wow.... I wonder if the Bears have Fashanu graded as LT1 over Alt. I was a big BIG Alt guy for the Bears to get. But Fashanu appears more complete at the moment. Alt could get in an NFL weight room and with the right pro coaching could clean up some of his weaknesses. Interesting choice.

  • All great athletes, all very big. I'll take the young kid who wants to learn who never quits and who has the heart to be available to play with an injury. and I always remind myself there blocking college DE , yes the highest level at the college level but , DE at the professional level are a totally differnt beast, all that said, I really love the break down coach, love the Honesty because these kids don't need to easy route , they need to be told about there shortcomings not how good they are, break them down, then build then back up for the professional level.its blows my mind how OL became one of the hottest commodities in the NFL, it's great that there finally getting paid what they deserve. And that we understand how important the OL is . When these QB get contracts like the CEO of a major company, they better surround him with the best OL. I'll take Lathem just from what I watched in this video, he looks like the best Athlete, and could play inside if you need him too.

  • I agree with this 100%. Alt is a good prospect but not perfect by any means, Olu with a quality OL coach can be more powerful. Latham is a beast. IMO those are the only quality LTs except for Mims who has too many questions with his limited play. A team like the Titans, who ned a guy to step in early, need to take on of these top 3 and I like Latham. Put Lattham next to Skor and you have two great run blockers who can still pass block proficiently.

  • Based on your analysis of these three players I would like to ask you what you would do with the WAS draft after WAS 2 for NE 3, 34, 103 WAS 3 for ARI 4, 35 WAS 4 for LAC 5, 69 WAS 36, 40, 2025R2 for ATL 8 Subsequent picks 5,8,34,35,67,69,78,100,103 etc It would seem like you could make the first two trades in advance and then keep trading down until Alt or Fashanu were gone. You could also trade down remaining picks and take all the players above for WAS OL but I assume 34 or 35 would be used on Penix or Nix. IMO WAS needs to build up their OL much more than draft a QB who can better run for his life.

  • You're mistaken about Latham, coach. He hasn't done any testing throughout the pre-draft process, and I doubt very strongly that he runs sub 5 sec in the 40. I think he's going to end up being a guard.

    @zackhurwitz9441@zackhurwitz9441Ай бұрын
    • No way. If you watch his tape, he could easily be the top LT In this draft. No chance he plays guard at the next level.

    • @@IIMeanDeanII for starters, he's a RT, he's never played LT at Alabama. Secondly, it was pointed out in this very video that he struggled against speed, and that's putting it mildly. Go watch him against Auburn this past year, then delete your comment 😂

      @zackhurwitz9441@zackhurwitz9441Ай бұрын
    • Same but I could see a world where he works out at tackle if he plays closer to his combine weight like 330-340 if he truly was 360 at bama and he gets the mirror ability he needs from that. Would be an insane guard though, built so perfect

      @rjharrold2907@rjharrold2907Ай бұрын
    • @@rjharrold2907 couldn't agree more. I think he could play tackle, but it would have to be in a gap scheme. Like what the chargers, or Baltimore will be running. My thought process is "why would I fail him at tackle, if he has crazy potential as a guard?" It has worked out for Tyler Smith, and I could see Latham being a similar caliber of IOL.
