Im an Av's fan (grew up in denver) I'm pumped for a Utah team. It's gonna be a nice fun new rivalry.
Also when you factor in Vegas, it creates a nice little rivalry between the three states. I'm so pumped for NHL in my home state! Been a Jazz fan all my life, but having another team to root for will be great! Go Utah!

I am in Utah, I was born in Utah, I have been here my entire life, and…yes this state has a quirky/bizarre/embarrassing mash up of religious beliefs, culture and history but, in spite of all of the above, there is a vibrant and increasingly diverse population developing here over the last 30+ years that is stoked for this opportunity to expand our support of professional sports teams in the state and I myself could not be more stoked about our new NHL team. Ryan Smith has been a huge boom for the sports fans in Utah. Cheers Ryan, keep up the radness my good man.

As a Utahn I've been obsessed with the Utah Raptors name idea. There was an actual Utahraptor and to have dinosaur-themed hockey team in its owner would be so cool, I would drain all of my money on a dinosaur-themed jersey, especially for my home state.

UTAH YETIS Main Logo - Y inside the U in broken Ice themed letters (like Cannucks broken ice) one Yeti eye either side of the Y. Secondary Logo on shoulder of sweater- Yeti skating with ice skates on holding a hockey stick (like Pitt Penguins) Colors - Main color is Dark Purple, ice blue, black, and white.
I will buy a Utah Yeti jersey and I’m a Capitals fan. Never purchased another team jersey in my life (44 yo). I won’t buy any other logo/mascot. Let’s go Yeti!!!
Pat, Utah has hockey since 1969, brought here by the Accord family. That was the Utah Golden Eagles. Utah has thousands of Golden Eagles, and hundreds of the Bald Eagle. Utah even named a Rec Ice Rink for the Olympics after the Accord family, in West Valley City. It would be great if this great team/state brought back the name of a huge predatorial bird as the Golden Eagles. And keep in mind, Utah has won cups with the Golden Eagles, and the now Grizzlies.

The initial list of 20 potential names for the team is not electric. I would have thought bringing back the Golden Eagles moniker would have been included and appropriate. Call the organization the Utah Golden Eagles and be done. The marketing can then proceed and be effective the 1st season, no waiting. Hope Trevor Lewis will be brought in to be the 1st Utah native to play in the 1st NHL team to call Utah home.

No it’s not one of the smallest. It’s more in the middle to high end. Look it up. 18,306 for nba games. Sold out every game

As a Utah Grizzlies fan for 25+ years im beyond excited, still cant believe we are getting an NHL team, its basically my first thought everyday when I open my eyes. Sucks i wont be able to afford going to many games with two young kids as i scrape by, but we will find a way for a game or two!

Because the Arizona Coyotes franchise still exists, it's just going inactive. A brand new franchise was formed with Utah purchasing the assets from the Coyotes. Like he mentioned, it's a pretty weird deal.
