The hardest thing you’ll ever hear is disappointment from your child… and even worse is that it’s from something you haven’t even done yet. I couldn’t even imagine hearing those words from my daughter. It would honestly be the worst thing to ever happen to me. Always live the life that would make your children proud. She’s cold towards him because after he came back from this, in her timeline he’s a POS who never readjusted and abandoned them and eventually was I believe a drunk and ended up dying in a car accident. She never got to know him which is why she acted the way she did. It’s a little unfair because technically all he wants to do is survive to get home to see his wife and daughter. She she rocks his world by telling him what a POS he becomes after he gets back. And he saw what his father was like and decided that’s not going to happen. It’s a great movie and I’ve watched it a handful of times and would highly recommend!

For anyone that is wondering why she seems so cold against him. Basically a few years after his timeline he started acting differently towards his family. He abandoned them and never cared to visit his daughter and eventually when she turned 17 i think they got a call that he died by a car accident he had. So she has every right to be cold to him after everything that happened. He just doesn't know as for him these things haven't happen yet.

@NRV017 күн бұрын
He believed that he was meant for something bigger, and that ambition caused his split from his family. She let him know that they got the call that he'd been in an accident, and she was there to see him die, if I remember correctly, and it gutted her. She tried very hard not to get attached to him in this time, because of that, and before he gets sent back, he effectively watches her die, so that guts him just as bad, making him more resolute to save the world, just so he can save her...

Movie?
Thank you for sharing truly tugs at curiosity and nudges to watch the movie.
Imagine if he became a bad father all because of this interaction, like a self-fulfilling prophecy that she actually caused. 🤔
There's also another dimension to this on her end? She was using people recruited from the past to fight this war. In a wierd way, she is responsible for her own shitty childhood. That's kinda mind bending.
This is actually more how I saw that @@silverblade357
Suuuure, blame the guy who was forced to fight a war that wasn't his war by his own daughter and ended up with obvious PTSD which is why he never readjusted. She, along with the other higher ups in the future, is to blame for her shitty childhood, not the guy who was forced to fight a war that he shouldn't have had any part of...

Strahovski is a remarkable actress! From the tv series "Chuck" to this movie she has the awesome ability to convey such a range of emotions just by facial expressions alone.

Ya finally somebody told, she has beautiful ability that she can convey any emotions with her eyes and she is perfect choice for captain Marvel
"You're my Muri Forester" ...."I'm Muri Forester". Damn, what a small but crucially specific line.
He just doesn't know as for him these things haven't happen yet.
what if them meeting was the cause
I don't remember much(I should rewatch cuz the action scenes in the future were good) but given the little we know of him before he makes the jump, he never seemed like the type of guy to turn into just like her timeline dad.
IIRC, he changed because of what he witneesed in the future, and had trauma from that. This eventually turned him against the family and he died later.
Ok so she’s an asshole because of something he didn’t do? And that gives her the right to be an asshole
Damn man. This hits home. I missed my oldest being born, and my middle two growing up fast because deployments. While we are out doing our duties for them and happy and hoping to be home, they are home upset and resentful that we are gone. To not get to hug his daughter like that is a stab in the heart and a kick to the balls at the same time.
I felt that too. Now that I’m home for good, retired, no deployment… they’re all grown, living on their own… and they don’t have time for me.
@@qpidrc9454I feel that. It certainly sucks.
You got to ask yourself if the real heroes are the ones staying home dealing with the high level anxiety every day…. while the family member is out having fun.

I hate it because of the stupid weapons and some plot stupidity. The time travel was pretty good tbh
@@VRGladiator What stupid weapons?
@@phantomfox4317 They use 5.56 SBRs that would have shit penetration and accuracy.
@@VRGladiator Oh right, against the alien's carapace, yes.
I found it stupid bc basically the whole story of his daughter trying to find some kind of answer/ solution to the aliens by coming up with some type of antidote/solution to inject into the queen and kill all the aliens. Then, at the end they blow up the alien ship and not even use the antidote/solition that they were working on in the first place. Basically, an hour of the movie didnt need to exist bc they didnt even need the antidote/solition in the end of the movie to get rid of the aliens. Shit writing in my opinion.
Ugh… hate that I noticed she replied “I’m Muri Forester” when he said “you’re MY Muri Forester” 🥺😢😩😭
I also cringed as soon as I heard that, I knew something like her "No." was coming soon after that.

yeah and the cold hearted rejecting of him. Haven't seen the movie, got the impression she knew who is is and he dint know her. What did he do to her that deserves this cold heartedness to her dad?
@@BNezzy She actually has every right to be so cold towards him. @@badassmexican9479 well he defeated the Alien invasion. She had some issues from abandonment but instead of just dying in the attack he went to fight the aliens. I’m looking at it from a dad’s perspective.
Why wouldn't she hug him?
In her timeline her parents got divorced, he took it pretty hard with the job and he took up drinking and he died in a car crash
Probably because shes in charge of everyone and cant be seen hugging person shes in charge of in front of them

Colonels generally don't receive hugs from sergeants, especially when other soldiers are milling about.
Yeah, but that reaction was not just from protocol, she deeply felt distant and cold toward him. He, as her father, very deeply hurt her for abandoning her, never reaching out to her, and dying without ever developing even speaking terms with her. Whatever went wrong during time travel changed him inside and badly affected his relationship with his wife and daughter.
Believing Chris Pratt’s character to be a bad father was the hardest part about this otherwise great movie.

If you last saw them when they were 8 years old? Bullshit.
The hell you would. You could probably not even recognize yourself at 8 years old. People change much more in that time than you think, not just face but also personality wise.
Because of some time travel nonsense in the movie he's only been gone a few days and isn't looking around for a thirty year old version of his daughter.
