I've had my German Shepherd since he was 4 weeks old. Raised him to be a good boy. Whenever I'd come home in bad shape, he would sense it and come sit with me and put his head on my lap. He's the most loyal friend I've ever had.. He's 11 now and is dying and I'm heartbroken to have to put him down.. but I won't ever lose the love that dog has given me.. Raise a toast for my buddy, I know I will.

Be dominant, not aggressive, be respectful but not submissive, these are the guidelines to being the boss of a dog, is the best advice i was given.
@Yes.-_-19 күн бұрын
Difficult to understand that concept. I thought dominance and aggression were the same thing for a long time. It's just the way that I was raised, I think. My father was praised for having such strict discipline and well- behaved children but - at least in my case- I was just too scared of him. I honestly thought he was going to kill me at one point.😅 I am > 40 years old now and understand that it's not the correct way to raise children- or animals for that matter. It's a good thing I never had children of my own, though. I still sometimes react to things the same way my father did. 😅

Issue is when you get a dog now it's hard to just scold them by using a deep voice and pointing at them when they do something wrong because people say it's cruel.. Like bruh stfu and butt outta my business I'm not abusing them and they're being naughty and need to be told NO, if you don't tell them off they're gonna end up like all the naughty children around atm.
@lilskipper468318 күн бұрын
The goal of a healthy dog-human relationship isn’t to be “the boss of a dog” or “dominate” it. If this something a dog owner or handler is thinking about then they’ve lost the plot.
@4strokes17 күн бұрын
@@4strokes No dominate is the wrong word but a lot of people are pushovers with their dogs and it ends up with them and others suffering because they couldn't come to terms with stepping up and putting their foot down and actually taking control of the situation and their dog. A dog needs control, they need stability and they need commitment, some dogs will also like to keep to set schedules too but that's neither breed nor size specific it's just personality and how they were raised (if you raise them to keep to a schedule they're gonna wanna stick to it if you don't then they probably won't care as much unless they're a foodie or love walks it really just depends on how the dog is). But dominating a dog is completely different to putting a dog in it's rightful place, you are the top and you should be given respect but that doesn't mean you can't give lots of fuss and play and respect the dog in return it just means that dog needs to know you give the commands and it follows and if it doesn't then it's gonna get told off and not rewarded until they proceed to do the action you wanted them to.. People seem to forget that dogs are literally built on hierarchy, they were made to follow and if they don't get taught boundaries they can become destructive.

@@sharifaa.8887Me, my mother and one of my older brother was stuck in the same house as our father for 12 years before we got away from that psycho.. Our younger brother was and is the same kind of narc psycho now... Always hearing people saying that "soo well behaved and quiet children" was hard, as the ONLY reason we where quiet, was that if we wasn't we would get hit so hard we couldn't walk for a few days.. 😓 Still feel it in my soul when I hear or see people behave in that way and I'm turning 40 this year! 40 years ago, my then fiance was a customs officer, dog handler of a drug sniffing dog, a black German shepard, LEX. one evening i took him for a short walk around the block. A car, 2 guys, stopped next to me and tried to drag me in the car. They hadn't seen LEX, He was in the bushes. The dog came running fast as lightning, attacking the guy who holding my arm. I didn't even had to give a command. I could struggle free, start running towards our front door, LEX kept them at distance. One short call from me and he let go, raced to me and with me thru the door to safety. ❤ RIP LEX

That is amazing, dogs are probably the most loyal animals ever. I was on a walk with my dog through a pretty secluded area and he was off lead, a bit away sniffing in the bushes. A man raced up to me and attempted to undress me, but once my dog heard my shouts he came flying and attacked the man until someone else came to help. Who knows what would've happened to me if my dog wasn't there. We are so lucky to have dogs as such loyal and kind animals on this planet with us. ❤

My Baby Boy belonged to a couple and their Momma cat didn't produce milk ,so they gave him to me ,he's 3 now and a big beautiful Fluffy Darling and I adore him nI think many animals bond with people they know they can trust ,horses do but even wild animals. My last dog Butch was a K9 Marine Black German Shepard. He belonged to my cousin, who was his partner. Together, they became a cop team. But my cousin died and no one wanted him due to his aggressive temper. And since he was a marine they didn't want to put him down because of his background record. So just to see if my family contained them.I took him in. Plus he's family.I can't send him to the pound to people to sleep no way. About two years later I got pregnant with my first daughter. Which seemed to be extra protective and aggressive towards any male even to my fiance, but he tolerated him since he is my children's father. Now my 2nd daughter came into the picture, Butch got to be more loving and caring to my girls. Now he is with my friend in Dallas. They come to visit now and then. The girls love Butch and he adores them.

My mother used to work as a dog trainer specialising as a behaviouralist. She had a german shepherd, Chloe, who would go with her to training sessions and they would do lots of shows as well, she was an extremely intelligent dog. My mum told me about this one time she was doing a small show and helped this woman who had been bitten by german shepherd get over her fears, and how chloe was so patient and gentle to the woman. There was also a time chloe saved my life when i was a baby from a home invasion. No one noticed he was there, he only got a couple steps into the yard before she flew out the door and grabbed his arm. My mum said when i was first brought home after i was born, she trusted her dog enough to put me on the floor so Chloe could see me, something she never recommends others to do when introducing a newborn to a dog, and first thing she did was lay down curl herself around me. By the time i was born chloe had already lived past her life expectancy, im glad i got a couple years with her ❤

My mom had a German Shepherd named Rex before my sister and I were born. He was at the pound and they were gonna put him down, so she took him home and he got so attached to her. He wouldn't listen to anyone but her, he would do everything she said like she'd trained him from a pup. He only got aggressive with people wearing work boots, holding newspapers, or riding bikes. He once chased my uncle down the street bc he was on a bike and wearing boots (he'd just come over after work), he managed to avoid being bitten bc he jumped into the box of a nearby truck. Other than that one time, he rarely had any outbursts and was super sweet and loved my mom more than anything. People were only allowed on the property when my mom said so, family, friends, strangers, didn't matter. Her word was law to him. This massive dog would stand on his hind legs and tower over her with his paws resting on her shoulders (my mom is 5'4") and loved to lay on the couch in her way so she would lay on top of him and he would just vibe with it. Everyone else was nervous around him.

We sadly had to put her down in November 2023, she would’ve been 10 that thanksgiving. (Her birthday is right by thanksgiving)❤💔 German Shepard are amazing.

I’ve done a similar thing. A family friend of mine had a dog that bits anyone he doesn’t know, and he is big enough to break a fence. Everytime he would start barking, they would need to convince him to come inside with treats. Eventually, he got used to me and I started watching him. He would go outside to go to the bathroom, and then start barking like crazy and turned around like he expected a treat. When I didn’t give him one, he went back out there. I yelled at him and walked over to him then dragged him back in by the collar. He never barked while outside again. Right now he still has trust issues, but he warms up pretty quickly to people I am fond of.

As someone who lived on a farm where we also raised police dogs this is how you train a dog for a dangerous job. This isn't your house dog that you can act all cuddly with. It's a tool first, and a pet second. I'd absolutely love to hang out and let him lay in my lap snacking on ham slices watching TV but that isn't something a true working dog does.

It had its own blankie, huge dog laying by the sofa chewing their blanket. I did cuddle with it a lot and treat it as a normal dog. It understood what was home and what was work.

@iilastarfyr1198 Likewise my friend and thank you for the kind words
I poured a glass and raised a glass to both of you ❤
Be dominant, not aggressive, be respectful but not submissive, these are the guidelines to being the boss of a dog, is the best advice i was given.
The goal of a healthy dog-human relationship isn’t to be “the boss of a dog” or “dominate” it. If this something a dog owner or handler is thinking about then they’ve lost the plot.
Scarred for life, but glad I cna be a nice loving person instead or like my father and younger brother! 🤔😅
❤ RIP LEX
That’s a good dog right there, had a good life
That is amazing, dogs are probably the most loyal animals ever. ❤

I had a dog named rex and he was one of the sweetest dog i had had, he died a few years ago and i still miss him Rip Rex.
So Roscoe was a Marine before becoming a police officer in Margrave, that explains why she wasn’t intimidated by Reacher

Megan Leavey is so underrated. Definitely the female equivalent to Channing Tatum’s Dog for the bond the lead characters build with the dogs
Dogs know who respects them and who doesn’t. If he bite that man’s hand, it was because he didn’t trust him.

Even their leash handling is wrong. You NEVER loop a leash, the dog hand should hold the leash in a bight. Almost all k9 dogs are trained on the left in order to keep the gun hand free. The technical advisor for this scene was sleeping in the trailer.
I don't think they had anyone familiar with dogs on this show

This clip might just be a mirror image. A lot of these clip farm accounts mirror-image their clips to avoid copywrite infringement stuff. I'm not sure though, I've never seen this movie myself. EDIT: I just checked the letters on everyone's uniforms and this is in fact a mirror image.
Just watched it last night and pretty sure it's mirrored video to avoid copyright and not get taken down. Plenty of training scenes in the movie.
I thought he was gonna say "HES A MARINE"
My grandma told me that there's a dog for every person, whether they like it or not. Hers was a German Shepherd named Dante, and mine happened to be a German Shepherd too. I named her Seena. She's not too extraordinary. She doesn't sniff out bombs or bite human scum in the ass. But she's a good girl that loves me the same way I do her, and that's enough for me.
that was the most poetic shit ive read all week

Everybody should get scared 😮. Rex got humble when she showed her authority
I hate when people act like animals don't have feelings. Fear or sadness sometimes shows up as aggressiveness. When I was younger I was always angry but that anger was really me being sad and scared but it would present as anger because I was trying to defend myself. Your aggressiveness and anger is the part of you that is trying to protect yourself. He's aggressive because he's trying to protect himself.
Using an assertive tone with your dog rather than being aggressive and mean if they are not following your instructions gives them a clear sign that they should listen to you and you’re being serious
He’s a fellow marine and needs to trust his brothers and sisters. There’s misbehaving and then there’s acting out cause you’ve never trusted a handler. He trusts her
Wait is that Draco Malfoy?!?
I had an Akita for 10 years, 90 pounds of fun and joy. My kids were young when we got tiger they used to ride on his back from time to time. That dog wouldn't hurt a fly until he would. He used to try to lick the meter man all the time. Had a german shepherd come into our yard after my boys tiger took after that dog and ran it out. He never barked except if there was something close to the fence. So if we were sleeping and he was barking we knew there was something close. He found a ferret in the yard once he barked at it but never touched it. Great dog best friend.

@@nataliking9002what is I would love to know !!!
Hearing Tom Felton do an American accent and somehow sound like Chris Evans was traumatizing
Marilla & Draco…together in one movie!!
Dogs know the difference between a weak, sackless dingleberry, & a strong compassionate pack leader. The ruff life is real!
All it takes is a little love
When I was in 5th grade my family got a German Shepard, she was supposed to be a police k9 but her trainer was moving (and unable to keep her) and the training facility didn’t want her back. My family ended up getting her just after her 1st birthday. She protected the house from intruders, taught our other pups and was a good doggo. We sadly had to put her down in November 2023, she would’ve been 10 that thanksgiving. (Her birthday is right by thanksgiving)❤💔 German Shepard are amazing.
Was that fucking draco malfoy?!
100%
Don't you mean Dudley Dursley?
No they mean Tom From who played Draco Malfoy. He was the guy who told her to wrap the dogs paw.
And McGonagall
Rex,"LAY" Down.Wow
Idk if I’m on something but I’m positive a saw Draco Malloy roaming around in one of these scenes 😂😂
That is how you train dogs
As someone who lived on a farm where we also raised police dogs this is how you train a dog for a dangerous job. This isn't your house dog that you can act all cuddly with. It's a tool first, and a pet second. I'd absolutely love to hang out and let him lay in my lap snacking on ham slices watching TV but that isn't something a true working dog does.
There is no excuse to be scared.
My dad had his friend who is k9 handler and their dog stay at our place while he renovated his house. That k9 was by far the most charming dog I've ever met. It had its own blankie, huge dog laying by the sofa chewing their blanket. I did cuddle with it a lot and treat it as a normal dog. It understood what was home and what was work. It was like any other dog when home.

@@maxskogh6289 onace the dog is properly trained sure but not before.
I had a Shepard named Rex. Loved that dog
I LOVE THIS MOVIE. ITS ACTUALLY SO GOOD AND BASED OFF A TRUE STORY
Stop this music, for every thing, always.
In order for someone to get paid for using someone else's clip, they have to add enough to it so gets past the censors. Adding music is the easiest but it has to be loud enough to create a distinct sound profile that doesn't match the OG clip.
@@patricksanders858Then perhaps they shouldn’t be playing these clips to begin with. It’s annoying.
My first dog ever, Monty (RIP), was an aussie/blue heeler mix, and any time anyone would get too "rough" with me or my sisters, he'd bite at them. Two butts laid to waste. He'd also herd us into a group when we started spreading out too much 😂 miss you, buddy
I saw this on Netflix it’s a good movie so basically what sums it up is she just join the military and went threw boot camp in high school and one day she was walking over to help out with the dogs this is the scene and this dog Rex she turned him into a good dog just by yelling at him in confidence so he would stop being a bad dog and after retiring she adopted him and became a spoiled old dog and cater that I believe she became a vet or a dog trainer
What is the name?
In the film, there’s a scene at Rex’s sleeping space where Megan told Rex to go to the corner unless he didn’t want Megan to give him his dog food for the day. Rex wouldn’t budge for hours, but eventually he moved, Megan’s patience against Rex’s stubbornness paying off.
My GSD is also "Rex". truly a king
I watched the clip and then immediately watched the movie and I love the movie! Great watch
Movie name?
This is not taming, this is communicating, this is understanding❤
This was such a good movie, I love it was a true story! I won’t ruin it, but she really stepped up with Rex!
I have this movie on DVD and watch it every now and then one of few movies that actually made me tear up. I had a black GSD when i was a 14 Easter present from now deceased uncle she was the best dog I ever had followed me everywhere. She even waited every day when I got on and off the bus for years til i lost to cancer watching this reminds me of her I miss you Lacey.😢😢
I had a dog when I was a kid, her name was Roxy. She was an Australian shepherd and was pretty old, but crawled under my uncles truck and he didn’t notice her… it’s been about 5-6 years since then, and I still think about her.
The movie is so good I cried a little bit because she had to leave Max.😢
He knew she understood him and listened to her in return- thats a beautiful end ❤
I love this movie so much!!!!

Most important thing to show a dog is patience, kindness and dominance. Patience so the dog can open up and trust you. Kindness so a dog can show kindness back. And dominance so they know you are strong and will guide them.

People forget dogs can get PTSD too, especially Military dogs
